who's running for governor. it's been a very busy day for them. quinn touring the state and julius making a stop at a number of places and ending here at a straupt in greek town with at least 150 supporters with them. quinn, meanwhile, as i mentioned flew around the state and did a campaign rally outside tonight in his headquarters. you can see his main focus today was on the project "put illinois to work." both janewliuous and quinn have received quite a bit of support from the white house with president obama making several trips to chicago to support them as well as first lady michelle obama, she's made a stop here, as well as vice president joe biden. all of that hasn't been enough support to give either of them a commanding lead over the polls. janulluous was 3 points behind mark kirk, his opponent. similar with quinn who's neck and neck with bill brady. and tonight, you ask either

9:08 pm
that's how important it is for the machine. >> how so? >> well, if you vote for a democrat for legislature in your district, you're actually voting for madigan, and that is the key campaign, because that means everything for the future after the next governor's elected. >> could affect his daughter too in a lot of ways. >> mike wants his daughter to be governor madigan some day. >> lisa madigan. >> if he's the speaker, he'll be able to squeeze the next governor, like play dough or whatever, the second most powerful democrat in the state behind mayor daily and now dale segoing out and madigan is on the top perch. last time madigan was not speaker was in the 1994 debockle. >> for one term. >> and the county assessor, bearios is running for that.
