inspiration for the book. >> well, photographers are usually very focused on specific stories. they are out on assignments and they see part of what they do is to be the eyes of the community and they are inspired by the seasons and by the weather and the light and these pictures often don't make print. we put them online sometimes. but we had this great collection we thought what better to share with readers. >> let's put a few of them up. do you have a monitor there? >> i don't. one is a great shot of a guy that has been blag sand castle on the beach of lake michigan and pouring watd for the a hole there. >> that's a great shot that was the day that the beach opened up this year and we see a father sort of playing in the sand with his child, i believe way in the background just the joy of the beach and the season i think that picture tells the story. >> who is the photographer?

12:22 pm
the city. we were out on a story to sort of capture a polluter, chronic polluter down in the industrial area and as we flew over again our photographers have this super vision that they just see images and they can't resist. they are inspired. so that's gorgeous fall image of the pond i believe and the train just snaking through the center of it. >> these photographers are amazing. they can be out covering crime or political corruption or anything and they see a great shot that has nothing to do with the story. >> absolutely. excellent book. where do you get a copy? >> get them in book stores all over the city and here at the tower as well. >> okay. thank you so much for bringing us an excellent book. should make a great christmas gift. the flurries going through the area are in the back side of a big low up in canada whose backside winds are producing the little snow showers that actually are being picked up by radar. and that's a sign that they are substantial enough to put down a dusting in some areas. here you see the latest radar picture and more to come so we will keep flurrying into this evening and sometimes exciting but this shouldn't be a massive snowstorm just enough to ice things up a little bit on some of the less traveled roads and overpasses. here are visibilities a proxy for snow intensity. when you get down to three miles you have light snow but you have to get down to fractions of a mile to really have that snow coming down gang busters and we have only seen that briefly in a few locations that comes and goes quickly. there are the temperatures plotted on the map and here you can see the lobe of cold air spilling off the snow pack that starts in central and northern wisconsin is with and minnesota and up to the poles.

12:46 pm
knowledge of the designers so maybe it wasn't as stressful for you. maybe more excited. >> well, it was stressful for me. i think the most stressful one was our shoot with patrick asm huge icon of mine. i'm getting to shoot with him was unbelievable but it was little stressful and nerve- racking. >> your knowledge of the industry was really, really impressive. the photographers and the designers and everything. and you stood out because you are so tall. you're 6'2". then there was the episode where you had to shoot a commercial on roller skates and ann, everyone felt so sorry for you watching you fall. you got up, you fall again. but let me ask you, ann, as a tall woman myself, being around that many other tall girls, did that help you feel more comfortable with your height? >> oh, definitely. i was around people that were
12:47 pm
like almost my height. i could like look people in the eye half the time i was there. it was a really weird experience. it made me feel more comfortable. >> that's a wonderful feeling when you are that tall as a woman. i know that for tonight's final episode your parents show up in italy for the big fashion show. don't want you to give anything away. but either one of you fall or trip or how does it go? the fashion show? your performance. >> you have to watch it. >> okay, all right. you aren't going to reveal. you are wearing a design tonight. >> yes. >> and -- >> very exciting. it's a big deal. >> absolutely loved the dresses that we will see you in tonight? >> yes. they are gorgeous. >> they were pretty. >> best of luck. thank you so much for your time. >> thank you. >> and congratulations on being the final two contenders in america's next top model. if you are in chicago you can

chef at 16 trump international hotel and tower in chicago. thank you so much for being here. >> thank you for having me. >> everything looks beautiful. >> thank you very much. >> where are you going to start? >> we will start with a couple of my favorites that we do in the hotel. small bites because i think during the holidays it's nice to have smaller bites so enjoy more than the large pies. so what we will do today is do some small what i call log cab be tarts. it's a pecan pie. instead of caro syrup we use maple syrup. i have my tart shells done. fill the pecans and lightly toast these and that way you make sure to get the flavor all through the tart. because when you bake that's it won't toast the nuts. i will fill those. and i have my mix made. like i said i use maple syrup instead of the traditional caro syrup. little warm it up a little bit so then that way it goes into your tart shells easier and i also like to make this a day in advance.
12:52 pm
both my filling and then i bake it. and then the tarts are always better the next day. i will just bake these in a low oven. and as you can see have i some already done. >> beautiful. >> as i said these are best the second day. so again, garnishing for me is very, very big part of what we do. always flavor but visual as well. so i have just a little pecan cream to accent the pecan flavor. pipe a little bit on top. and then garnish these with chocolate decor. playing off the seasons as well. these beautiful chocolate leaves with gold on them. >> gorgeous. >> just put them on top. it takes a traditional dessert that everyone is familiar with, pecan pie and takes it up to a different level. then we can go on to our next
12:53 pm
item. >> so beautiful. >> thank you very much. so another one of my favorites being that i am a traditional mid westerner is whoopee pies. these are making a big comeback these days. so i like to do kind of seasonal favorites, play upth flavors. black forest whoopee pies. so i have just a basic chocolate gainch, just -- gansh, the bit sore it doesn't make it too sweet. if it's too sweet you can't enjoy it. if you have a little bit less sweetness, then you eat more. enjoy the rest of your meal. so i will pipe that on top and leave a hole in the center when i pipe it so i can put in a brandied cherry. and that's the kind of adds black forest flare to this. put that right in the center.
12:54 pm
would you like to try one? >> no, no. keep doing your thing. >> i could eat the whole thing. i will try later. sandwich on top there and then what i like to do again for just a little added touch. is i have melted chocolate. >> how do you get this effect? >> exactly. what i have is coating chocolate so you don't have to temper it. traditional chocolate makes a process, very time consuming. in the store you can buy what they call coating chocolate for molded cand eas. a lot easier to use. just warm it up and we will dip it right in there and take a little bit of the excess off. and then these are little snowflake sprinkles in where did you get those? >> any store that sells sprinkles, target has them. joanne fabrics. any store that sells holiday garnish like that. then i will repeat with all of the other ones.
12:55 pm
>> may sky you a question? if mr. trump were to come to town, i know you heard this before, what dessert does he like you to make? >> funny. mr.trump is actually a fan of haagen daz. >> just buy ice cream. >> he is a very simple man. very simple and he has simple tastes and pleasures. we accommodate him whatever way he like. >> well that's cool. these are absolutely beautiful. if i can get you quickly to tell us what's in this one? >> this is going to be the last one i will put together right now. >> okay. >> this one is actually -- >> do it quickly. >> no problem. --s it el-- pistachio on the bottom. pistachio cream and then on top of that a cherry compote and then a little crushed pistachio cookie on top. >> those are beautiful. >> thank you very much. >> and i can assure you they will be very much enjoyed around here. thank you so much. >> 16 at the trump hotel has
