a hoffman estates high-school teacher steps down from her job for allowing a male student to live with her. good afternoon i'm steve sanders >>and i'm dina bair we welcome our viewers for watching us around the country on wgn america and on the web. wgn's randi belisomo has more details on her resignation ... >>the teacher noticed the student having behavioral problems and offered to tutor him after school off the sessions began in the classroom then move to a restaurant and soon he was living with her at home >>the school board removed the teacher from her classroom and

september when they learned the boy was living with her without their knowledge it came about through a freedom of information act filed by the chicago tribune ... officials will not disclose the boy's identity but he did attend hoffman estates haskell the relationship began last year with a tutoring session but even after his grades improved the two of them continue to meet throughout the summer going to movies and out to eat. the teacher suggested the boy moved in when the parents were talking about moving the area he told friends that he was living with his godmother when the school district learned about this a social worker intervened and moved him from home and the district went to higher authorities immediately police are investigating we expect to learn more about the story later on today after the district's

superintendent received clearance from the attorney to speak with the media >>a woman who claims that she was robbed and raped over the summer was killed in a hit-and- run accident 69 year-old patricia watts in was struck in gary and the 3900 block of broadway around 6:00 sunday night she died from her injuries on monday and an autopsy is set for today the car that struck her was a gray buick back in august she claimed that she was robbed and raped at a south shore station in gary here is surveillance video of that alleged attack she filed the lawsuit but her lawyer said that he is not sure if the case will move toward a 16 year-old is charged with raping and robbing her and he will be back in court next month >>and the murder case against drew peterson the illinois supreme court is ordering a lower court to reconsider your

say evidence that was previously banned peterson is charged with the 2004 drowning death of his third wife kathleen savio there are eight hearsay statements that have prosecutors appealing to be heard by jurors the trial was to begin in july of 2010 this new ruling could delay it for a least several more months his lawyers say they're disappointed in that ruling and drew peterson has been jailed since 2009 and $20 million bail he is also suspected in the disappearance of his fourth wife stacy peterson >>federal prosecutors recommended today that rod blagojevich be sentenced to 15- 20 years in prison for corruption they said in their 21 page report he committed serious criminal acts and has refused to accept a responsibility his lawyers have said they wanted to get probation but the former governor will be sentenced next tuesday he was convicted back in june on several counts of

corruption including trying to sell the former senate seat of president barak obama >>mayor rahm emanuel has denied requests for public records that could show he came up with plans for a city fee increases and higher fees for water in city stickers and the cameras to target speeding motorists the chicago tribune is asking for internal city documents on this plans including e-mail's and memos and relevant contracts with outside companies so far no documents have been provided by the city except for a power point presentation on the need for water increases >>chicago's winter overnight parking ban begins tomorrow at 3 in the morning it will be enforced through april 1st of 2012 between 3 and 7:00 a.m. regardless of snow conditions the seasonal parking restriction spans over 100 mi. of the city's
