a team chemistry is great. we have been playing together for a while and a chance to play a lot together and going forward i think this is a special group that is capable of doing good things it's just a matter of getting it together. an opportunity to represent your country in the olympics is definitely a special moment. cactus league today, alfonso soriano got every stitch of that one off bronson arroyo of the reds, over the scoreboard in left field. sori's got four homers already. carlos marmol got beat up in his appearance but the cubs hung on to win it 8-6, joe mather hit a three-run homer. cubs win 8-6. not a pleasant afternoon for sox starter jake peavy either. they're playing oakland and the a's wore peavy out. coco crisp with the base hit in the first inning. peavy went two and a third, gave up eight hits and six earned runs. a's beat the white sox 9-4.

and finally, the marlins and red sox in fort myers, florida. a grounder toward first would have scored one for miami but the umpire called it foul and ozzie guillen, who obviously couldn't see one way or the other from the dugout, was right there to raise a ruckus. if you're counting, that's the first ejection for oz on his new job. it won't be the last. he said he wanted to create all little excitement for his players and stand in. that is it.
