team that saved his life. wgn's sean lewis joins us live with the story sean? >>when he got home this afternoon, officer del pearson asked for two things, a can of diet pepsi and to talk with his sons. fitting requests for someone, who neighbors call a good family man who still has a long recovery ahead. . >> he was wheeled out of the hospital with his wife and brother and long at his side. officer del pearson this afternoon, wheeled out of christ hospital. his wife and brother in law by his side. just a few miles away, blue ribbons and balloons greeted pearson when he arrived back at his south side home. >>we were all out here to support him of course. >>neighbors like retired officer bill marose, thankful the 47 year old is out of the hospital just 8 days after being critically wounded.
