separate shootings just three miles apart in a part of town that is largely african-american. two men survived. one of of the shooters described the man as a white man driving an older white pickup who stopped to ask for directions before randomly shooting them. residents are worried that the shootings may have been racially motivated but the officials are not sure. >> there's a logical theory that says it could be a racial thing but there's no evidence. there's been no remarkable slurs thrown. >> police say all of the victims were standing or walking outside when they were shot. they say for now all of the shootings appear to be ran do. communityy leaders are encouraging residents to stay calm and let police search. >> the mayor of virginia beach is calling yesterday's crash of

a navy f-15 jet a good friday miracle. everybody has been accounted for and no one died. the fighter pilots and two others who were injured on the ground have been released from the hospital. mechanical malfunctions caused the jet to plow into apartments. new video shows the fiery scene right after the crash. >> bright orange flames ripped through an apartment building moments after an f-18 navy jet crashes. you can see parts of the jet here. >> i thought the whole thing was in flames the whole backyard and then things started to explode and i don't know -- i mean, things just kept exploding and that black smoke kept going. >> anybody in here? get out! >> new video shows firefighters and police breaking doors to

but some areas picked up a light to moderate shower. those clouds will be breaking apart later tonight. we expect clear skies to return after midnight tonight so it will probably be a starlit night about 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning. 6 for a high today but cooler air to the west. temperatures in the 50's. we're thinking it will be coldest about tuesday when a second cold front comes through, dropping the daytime high to the upper 40's but then we'll pop back into the 50's at least. it's 60 at midway airport. a little cooler at most other reporting stations around the area. winds are slowly shifting to the northwest. at the moment they're coming more out of the west. as that cold front pushes in we have the cold air that's expected to set until around tuesday and wednesday. that's going to keep the air temperature chilly enough to require a jacket or sweater, but there is warmer air that's

beginning to move in our direction by the end of the weekend -- next weekend. and it looks like we may see some 70's before too much longer. tonight this is an area of precip rain associated with that little cool front that's pressing to the east. none of this really amount told very much but as it crosses lake michigan it appears to be picking up a little punch. on the other side of the lake and in parts of northern indiana, you may see a respectable shower. this is in texas. six tornados have been reported. unfortunately no damage. these storms continue to track to the northeast. we'll continue to watch them. this is a fire watch in effect because of low humidity and

high winds. don't do any outdoor burning. tonight, across the area, skies a little cloudy at the moment but the skies will be clearing. by morning temperatures drop back into the 40's. for easter sunday, morning sunshine may be an afternoon cloud or two with a high temperature 56 to about 63. by sunday evening, temperatures getting a little colder by early in the morning monday. showers possible sunday night. that doesn't amount to a whole light -- lot we don't think. and for monday, partly cloudy skies, temperatures from 53 to 58 degrees. check out the seven-day forecast and wouldn't you know it, the next chance for really significant rainfall looks like it will be friday saturday, and if we could show it on an eight-day graphic, it could be sunday as well. temperatures dipping on tuesday but worming back to the 60's by
