>>the majority of the chicago pools are open but a few remain closed the good news is is that they will be open by the weekend a public pool in the north suburbs has just reopened ... three days after a young boy drowned. it happened at roosevelt park in glenview friday afternoon. four-year-old vicente cardenas was pulled from the deep end of the pool he was taken to the hospital ... but couldn't be revived. the pool stayed closed while the staff held a training session over the weekend. the pool will operate on a shorter schedule. camps will not be allowed in the pool this week. three teenagers are hospitalized today after being struck by a hit-and-run driver while crossing the street. police say they arrested the driver after a short foot chase. wgn's judy wang reports is in humboldt park. police suspect a drunk driver and pursuing appropriate charges of lithosphere the three victims

passenger can also be cited for failing to report the accident a man was stabbed to death overnight, outside a bar in bridgeport. it happened in the 200 block of west 31st street. the victim was 29 years old. he was taken the northwestern memorial hospital, but it was too late. police aren't naming the victim. they're searching for a person of interest. a three thousand dollar reward is being offered to find the person who spray-painted graffiti on a wall near chicago's police memorial. the red paint was discovered thursday evening ... and was quickly cleaned up. there was a faint outline left over yesterday ... when more than 150 people gathered at the "gold star families memorial" near soldier field .. to honor those officers who died in the line of duty. police superintendent garry mccarthy says a child is probably responsible for the graffiti. authorities say they may now install extra surveillance cameras at the memorial. people who will be affected by the red line closure next year will have a chance to voice their opinions tonight. the entire south branch of the red line will close next spring. it will affect the dan ryan branch, from the cermak- chinatown station to the 95th

street terminal. it's part of a 425-million dollar project to replace the tracks. the c-t-a will offer free shuttle buses to green line stations during the reconstruction. tonight's meeting will take place at the south shore cultural center on south shore drive. it last from six to eight p.m. there is another meeting on thursday at the kennedy-king college. the final phase of the reconstruction of wacker drives begins today-- meaning new street closings. crews are re-building upper and lower wacker, between randolph and congress parkway. the work is expected to be finished by the end of the year. but for now, here are the new road changes you may want to avoid. adams and jackson boulevard are closed to all traffic. monroe is *re-opening* to all traffic since being closed earlier this year. van buren will remain open to westbound traffic. all of these roads will remain open for pedestrians. newly released recordings of jail phone conversations show george zimmerman instructing his wife on how to move around donated cash.
