while representative todd akin said he won't drop out of the senate race in missouri... he now says he'll honor the wishes of republican leaders to stay next week. akin has apoligized for his

high schools in southwest suburban plainfield could soon have specially designed safes... where police can store rifles in case of emergency. wgn's amy rutledge reports on the controversial proposal: the police chief says this may be necessary in the event of a school shooting ... he wants one in each of the four high-school ... according to the web page for the district he would like to lock the rifles in the school's only to be accessed by the officer on the premises ... it will also likely include a long gun which is more accurate from long distance it would be more useful in a school shooting situation school officers

to embarass the hospital for terminating her employment there. she admits to stealing blank hospital letterheads and envelopes, then sending threatening and vulger letters to patients. police say, she also threatened to expose sensitive mental treatments to the patients' family, friends and co-workers. alexian brothers hosptial has not yet commented. a man from chicago faces charges for allegedly groping a pregnant woman ... and intimidating a flight attendant while on a "jetblue" flight. a passenger shot this video inside the plane that was headed to los angeles on sunday. witnesses say 32 year old marcus covington appeared drunk made bizarre statements and would not stay in his seat. the plane made an emergency landing in denver, where covington was taken into custody. police say he spit at officers and threatened to kill them. covington is scheduled to be in court on friday. while chicagoans welcomed the mild winter, many are now encountering one of the side effects of the warmer temperatures. the freezing conditions usually
