percent of our normal snow. 10.7 in. of snow so far. back in 1778 and 79 that ended up being our snowless season. we had 84 and is going by this time that year. this ark of clouds it is a friend. behind it the colder air is searching southwards. the push of cold arctic air has set up in alberta clipper. it is bringing some small to the upper midwest. as winds begin traveling across the lake and temperatures and a drop in we turn up the lake snow machine. here's a plot of these temperatures. these lines of equal temperature. that is the cold air on the move coming into this area. we're now two degrees colder than yesterday when we hit a high of 46 and midway. we will not do that today. as you

for the cold. the jet stream is buckling. these moreno jet stream patterns reach up into the arctic and take cold they're pulling itself. when you see that kind of pattern show up you know it is going to get cold. piquancy this cold they're plunging southward. it is only here for two days. we are moderating by sunday. we setup a boundary across the country. along with a series of weather systems moving. a couple of which monday later in the day and early tuesday. it will have to be watched. we are expecting only flurries here. you can see the big high pressure. it plunges all the way down to the gulf coast. when shall the morning will have dropped around 10. single digits out in the suburbs. it will not move much during the day. by saturday morning we will have windchill down around zero. temperatures going into the teens. wind

advisories out west and these blue areas are what we are warning about. here's our model forecast. you can see south haven, you folks will see five or more inches of snow. here is the weather system that comes in early next week. another one in the middle of the pacific. it hits thursday and friday in some form in the midwest. this is the monday system. it could bring a mix of rain sleet, snow. it will change over to snow. it is not a big deal by the looks of things. it is of a different order. the drops into the plains states and then is supposed to track. if it does look at the winds. this is the weather map next friday. that is close enough that you have to watch it. it is hard to be absolutely precise but we are in an era where we see storms like a
