says the health care exchange is open to more unscheduled matter what. two more men go on trial today for the murder of a chicago police officer. kevin walker and christopher harris face first degree murder charges for the death of officer alejandro valadez. prosecutors say they believe walker and harris were involved in shooting valadez, in 2009, while seeking revenge against a rival gang. shawn gaston was convicted of valadez's murder two years ago and is serving a 125 year prison sentence. cook county state's attorney anita alvarez tried that case herself and will do the same later today. authorities have launched a criminal investigation surrounding the death of a misisng woman found in west suburban glen ellyn. police discovered the body of 33-year- old linda valez buried in a clearing in panfish park on saturday. investigators say there were obvious signs of trauma on her body but there is no reason to believe there is any threat to the public. valez was reported missing in wheaton last week under suspicious circumstances. two robberies last week by a man posing

as a cop or federal agent bring the total this month to four. the latest incident happened around 11, saturday morning in the 7-thousand block of south justine in englewood. police say in each case, the imposter, driving a silver s- u-v, approached victims and identified himself as "agent" or "officer franklin." on friday a man was accosted at 87th and harper. the imposter ordered both victims to get into his car as part of a police investigation, then demanded cash before releasing them. some breaking news in sports today. the cubs have fired manager dale sveum. sveum has managed the cubs for the past two season and had a year left on his contract. about two weeks ago, team president theo epstein declined to give sveum a vote of confidence but at the same time, epstein said there were "no alarm bells to ring" about the manager. the cubs finished the season with 66 wins and 96 losses.. losing 14 of their final 18 games. the tribune's mark gonzalez says sveum's firing could pave the way for the cubs to pursue yankees manager and former cubs catcher

on friday, the mental health institute, which examined holmes, filed a motion to block the release of the testing materials that it used. the re-rial of amanda knox is under way in florence, itay but the defendant's not there. knox and her ex- boyfriend were convicted in 2009 of murdering knox's british roommate, meredith kercher. both their convictions were overturned in 2011, and knox returned to her home town of seattle, where she's been living ever since. italy's supreme court decided last year to re-try the case. saying the jury did not consider all the evidence. knox has said she's afraid to return to italy. yankees' third baseman alex rodriguez goes before a major league baseball arbitrator today, to argue that his 211- game suspension should be called off. rodriguez was ordered suspended earlier this year for using performance enhancing drugs. but he was allowed to keep playing while he appealed. the arbitrator has set aside the entire week to hear a- rod's case. 13 other players were also suspended, but none is appealing. the second phase of the b-p oil spill trial begins today.

the focus this time.. is on what the british oil company did to stop the flow of oil into the gulf of mexico after the 20-10 spill. and just how much oil actually seeped into the ocean. plaintiffs say b-p knew a catastrophic spill was possible but was not prepared when it happened. it took nearly three months to stop the flow of oil into the ocean. b-p could face a pollution fine up to 18 billion dollars. two of the pope's predecessors are on their way to sainthood. the call fuelled hopes for a resolution of a decade old nuclear standoff. the diplomatic sweet talk cannot be trusted. he is urging president obama to pressure him from preventing making a nuclear bomb. syria's deputy

prime minister responded to a united nations solution. last week the u.n. security council adopted a resolution outlining the details of their plan to take control of and destroys serious chemical arsenal. also calls for consequences if inspectors find that syria has failed to fulfil their obligations. still denies using chemical weapons on civilians. two of the pope's predecessors are on their way to sainthood. pope francis announced today that pope john paul the second and pope john the 23-rd will be declared saints on april 27-th. the qualifications to be a saint include leading a holy life and performing at least two miracles. john paul is said to have cured a french nun of parkinson's disease and a costa rican woman with a brain aneurism john the 23-rd is only credited with one miracle. but pope francis decided he lived enough of a holy life to become a saint.

time for sports. after two years as cubs manager, dale sveum is out. the cubs announced sveum's firing today.. one day after the team finished the season 30 games below .500. losing 14 of their last 18 games. sveum had a year to go on his contract. when the 2014 season begins, the cubs will have have their fifth manager in five seasons. jay cutler's worst game of the season led the bears to their first loss of the year against detroit.
