the chicago area is under a flood watch. more wicked weather is on the way. we welcome our viewers watching us around the country. >> nancy lewis of roundthe flood watch means officials here are keeping a close eye on this. the level of a river. so far so good but the crews are working hard to keep it that way. >> public works crews have spent the last day clearing catch basins. to prevent flooding

from all of the rain water and melting snow. strategic sand bagging is in place in some areas. city agencies monitor the rising level of the river. an action plan will kick and when it hit 7 ft.. the level is nowhere near their right now. probably around 3-4 ft.. things could change quickly due to the forecast. >> tempters are getting above freezing. you do have some melting snow. there is a lot of snow. it is a big concern to us. we're keeping an eye on it. right now we're looking pretty good. >> baccy alive you concede all of that ice that is in the river right now. earlier this morning that was a solid sheet of ice. because of the rainfall it is all

breaking up and creating sort of an ice dam. that is an immediate concern right now. officials keeping a close eye on that. if it becomes a solid band that will create quite quite a flooding situation >> residents are keeping an eye on the water. >> this is an area that typically floods. as you can see still some ice that is on top of the river. it is coming up the banks but not too much. so far so good. pretty much the story is is that there is not any flooding going on that as of yet.

what we were hearing or expecting the worst has materialized. they were pretty slow going. at the very least bumper-to- bumper for 20-30 minutes. people making their way in and out of the city. the story being there really was not a lot of water on the road other than what was falling. it was getting away pretty quickly. i did talk to one gentleman who says about this time every year but especially because of the hard winter that we have had, he is ready to move down to florida. >> it is time to move to florida. >> i have a conversation with myself every year >> what are you going to do? >> florida would be something that many if not all of us

not clear who started shooting but the ukraine president blames the opposition. saying they used a brief truce. on tuesday 20 people including police were killed in crashes. protest began in november. instead turn to russia. reports that russia is sending an envoy to ukraine to mediate. the unit has agreed to impose an asset and then for those responsible. ukrainians in the chicago area reacting with prayers and protest. the association held this prayer vigil and palestine. demonstrators gathered outside of the consulate general. they want ukraine's president to resign. the

stocks are gaining after words that u.s. manufacturing expanded at the fastest pace in almost four years. the dial in triple digits territory.the dollar is in triple digit territory. despite two straight weeks of new hiring new claims for unemployment benefits dropped last week. the department of labor says initial claims declined by 3000. that was mostly in line with the communist expectations. the bitterly cold weather is going for a sharp slowdown in hiring. facebook has announced their buying a powerful smart phone messaging application. the move could attract

satellite view of the storm. it is a walker. it will deepen from 900 millibars. that is a very low barometric pressure. it is going to lay down of an inch of rain with some indebted thunderstorms. we always make note of that. thunderstorms concentrate rainfall. some very heavy downpours in short periods of time. the isobars the close of their pact the stronger the wind. this thing is lifting no. word and deepening as it does. the air is rising with increasing fury. the air around it rushes in with increasing speed. these will become very much an issue once a cold front passes later today. they will
