in an explosion at an apartment complex in indianapolis. it happened late last night. one section of the building's roof was completely blown off. a number of marian university students live in the complex, but it's not considered on- campus housing. the blast caused 250-thousand- dollars in damage ... and has left about two dozen people homeless. the cause of the explosion is still under investigation. a police commissioner in a predominantly white town in new hampshire is refusing to apologize for using a racial slur to describe president obama. a resident in wolfeboro lodged a formal complaint against commissioner robert copeland after hearing him use the slur at a restaurant in march. copeland, who is 82 and white, sent an e-mail to his fellow commissioners acknowledging he used the racial slur. he forwarded part of that e- mail to the woman who complained, saying that the president meets and exceeds his criteria for using the word. residents called for his resignation at a meeting last night.

that was followed by "laugh out loud." prosecutors say tsarnaev sent another text telling his friend to take what he wanted from his dorm room. and another friend face charges for removing fireworks and a laptop, days after the bombings. another friend is accused of lying to investigators. los angeles clippers owner donald sterling continues to fight the n-b-a. the n-b-a banned sterling for life and fined him "two point five" million dollars for his racist comments. sterling now says he's not paying that fine. in a letter to the league, his attorney says sterling's actions don't merit punishment and that his rights to "due process" were violated. sterling has admitted that he made a mistake. the league's other team owners plan to vote on forcing him to sell the clippers. president obama's assets are worth up to seven million dollars. that's according to financial disclosure forms released yesterday. president obama is entitled to a 400 thousand dollar salary. and he reportedly made up to 482 thousand dollars from book royalties and investments. last year, the president and
