step up in terms of temperatures. our highs will be in the low 80s. this evening but planners storms will develop and as a cold front comes our way we could see some of those strong storms. 64 degrees right now. in the mid way we are at 65. 61 in morris. 61 dekalb. warm temperatures. typically we are in the '70s. the satellite shows we are dry through the morning and afternoon is when we expect those storms to move through. by noon in looks nice at 79 degrees. at 5:00 p.m. we are up to 81. 9:00 p.m., 74 degrees. by 7:00 a.m. we try out. it could be a rough night as the low temperatures moved into the '60s. >> let's start with construction in schaumburg. the few spots where they're doing work early

morning. central piece bound to roselle, ongoing project taking out a single lane that will be in place for another week before it gets picked up. also let's talk about that one way wrong way driver. it happened near north avenue a few hours ago. the minivan going southbound in the northbound lanes when it hit a semi truck. driver taken to hospital. not seriously injured. truckdriver not hurt at all. >>a u-of-i student was on his way home to north carolina, when he disappeared. tonya francisco is live at o'hare airport with more. tonya? >> quite the mystery. the young man is a student at the champagne campus and made it here to the airport but some of the time between the time he checked his bag and when he was supposed to board his flight he disappeared. police say the 19 year-old check his luggage

little after 3:00 p.m. saturday and was due to take a united airlines flight to north carolina but he never boarded the plane. united says he did not revoke another flight. his mother was waiting for him in north carolina and found his luggage. police said the last time anyone had contact with him was around 4:00 saturday. his 5 ft. 6, 100 lbs.. brown eyes, black hair and has a scar on his right eyelid. if you have any information you are asked to call detectives in chicago at the central victims unit. back to you. >>police have issued a community alert in the bowmanville neighborhood after a man tried to lure a boy into a van last week. the boy was walking to school last wednesday in the 21- hundred block of west farragut

when the man asked him to get into a white cargo work van with scratches on the back of the driver's side. the boy ran away. police have not released a description of the suspect. three trailers of refrigerated meat have been stolen in the city this month. the trailers were taken from three different locations in the back of the yards neighborhood and the little village neighborhood. the trailers haven't been seen since. no arrests have been made. the oscar pistorius murder trial is being delayed again. the judge says pistorius must report for a month-long mental examination that begins on monday. his trial won't resume until june 30-th. pistorius is accused of murdering his girlfriend reeva steenkamp. he says he shot her because he thought she was a burglar. last week, a psychiatrist for the defense testified that pistorius suffers from an anxiety disorder that brings out an excessive concern for his safety. that's when the prosecution requested a mental evaluation, which was approved by the judge. thailand is now under martial law. the army issued the declaration this morning, but said it's not

a military coup. andrew spencer is following the developments. >> the army has now taken control. declaring martial law early tuesday morning posting soldiers at intersections and pulling tanks through the streets of bangkok. military officials insist it's an attempt to ensure law and order, and deep political rifts that have a times become violent. the move comes two weeks after thailand's constitutional court ordered the removal of caretaker prime minister, her supporters, the red shirt protesters called it the judicial coup swarming the streets calling for the removal of the current caretaker government. the anti-government yellow shirt also called for new government and not through elections. before widespread reform. they believe she was a puppet for her brother, the former prime minister who was ousted in 2006. a leader favored by the richards. the army shut down tv and radio stations on tuesday saying it wanted to "

prevent any distortions that could lead to misunderstanding " and also insurer administration would be distributed widely. the statement says we remain very concerned about the deepening political crisis and urged all parties to respect democratic principles including respect for freedom of speech. >> dead in a home on the northwest side died from child abuse. police officers were called to the home in the 33-hundred block of north natchez avenue sunday night. that's where they found the body of three-year-old ashley mendoza. neighbor says the mother told police someone broke into her home while she slept and she woke up to find her daughter's bloddy body. but an autopsy revealed she suffered multiple injuries - a result of child abuse. >> a share was a pretty little girl outside with her mother. she was playing. i saw about three weeks ago playing outside. >>police say they are talking with a person of interest however nopolice are looking for

the gunman who shot and killed a 17-year-old boy on the south side. it happened just after 5 last night, in an alley near the intersection of kedzie and 84th street. police say the teen was shot in the chest and was possibly the victim of a drive by shooting. residents who in the area say the neighborhood is quiet and shootings never happen there. >> it's a quiet neighborhood. this is caught off guard. i was surprised when i heard about it. i'm not used to this at all. >>police have not released the victim's name. family members tell w-g-n he was a student at bogan high school and the shooting may have stemmed from a fight that happened a year ago. a bank of america branch on the south side was damaged by gunfire monday afternoon. bullets shattered the glass doors of the bank at 95th and stony island. police say two men were leaving the bank parking lot, when a car drove up and someone opened fire. the men ran into the bank for cover. no one was hurt. police hope video from surveillance cameras will help them i-d the gunman. caught on camera... two chicago police officers, apparently

abusing the manager of a tanning and massage parlor... both physically and verbally. jessica klyzek is suing the city and ten officers who raided the "copper tan and spa" last summer. an undercover officer says an employee offered to perform a sex act on him. when klyzek screamed, one officer appears to hit her in the head. another launched into a profanity-laced rant. >> the only proof she had that happened in the only way anybody would ever believe her was to have the caught on video. >>the independent police review authority will determine what action, if any, will be taken against the officers. the police department says, "the alleged comments, if true, are reprehensible and completely intolerable in our

police department." a man who served more than two decades in prison for a double murder he didn't commit has filed a lawsuit in federal court against the city. deon patrick confessed to the murders in 19-92. the lawsuit alleges patrick was coerced into a false confession and denied a lawyer when he was being interrogated. he explained why he agreed to confess even when he knew he was innocent. >> and you're sitting in the room by herself no interaction with anybody else. eventually you're going to say something to try to better your situation. >>the lawsuit filed yesterday names the city, cook county, seven police officers and two assistant state's attorneys as defendants. health officials in illinois now say, a man who contracted the "mers" virus from another man, is not contagious. he is the third person in america to test positive for "mers." but doctors say he shows no symptoms. "mers" began in saudi arabia two years ago. the *first american to get it, had *traveled to saudi arabia. the illinois man may have gotten it, in two business meetings with the first man.

doctors say, unless you've traveled to the middle east, *your risk of "mers" is minimal. a few cute, wayward ducklings caused quite a stir in the northern suburbs. all of these 11 little ducklings fell into a storm drain in skokie yesterday. animal control officers were called in to make the rescue as the mother duck looked on. the officers decided to move the ducklings away from the storm drain, so they walked them across the street to the evanston golf course with the mama duck in tow. their big adventure ended at a little pond and it looks like dad even stopped by to keep an eye on the wandering ducklings. >> it did you read that script yourself? >> we got the exclusive on this story. it's for 10:00 a.m.. >> my very first job in illinois this a meal for a big story and it was about stocks. and the kennedy. dimmer look where you are >>. >> that's right. >> to save that for your big

explosion at a wisconsin brass factory. it happened yesterday afternoon as the workers were pouring molten brass into a cast in the saukville factory. the blast knocked the workers from a platform. the explosion then started a fire and the entire factory was evacuated. two of the injured were airlifted to a nearby hospital. five others were taken by ambulance. the cause of the blast is under investigation. two planes came within a football field of each other in newark, new jersey. it happened april 24-th. a plane was arriving from san francisco... another was departing for memphis... their runways intersected. at one point, they were separated by only 400 feet vertically, and 200 feet laterally. >>the incoming flight was ordered to abort its landing. the national transportation safety board says neither plane was damaged... and no one was hurt. the incident is still being investigated.

a sting operation identifies suspects in two cases of cyber crimes. the justice department has charged five chinese military officials with hacking into american businesses to steal trade secrets. beijing calls the charges absurd. the same investigation also led to at least 90 arrests in 17 countries for hackers who use black-shades software. those programs allow hackers to take control of computers, files and webcams without the owner's knowledge. a boy, whose foul ball switcharoo went viral, says he wasn't trying to trick anyone. this happened at the texas rangers game on saturday. a foul ball gets hit to the third base coach, who tosses it to ten year old austin chaney in the first row. chaney then turns around and hands a ball to a girl sitting behind him. but that was a different ball since the *foul ball was still in his mitt. chaney says the one he gave away was another foul ball from earlier in the game. >> we were getting a few balls. but mainly it was the third base coach who toss just the balls. i

supporters of deposed prime minister ying-luck yingluck shinawatra insist her recent removal was a *judicial coup. the judge in the oscar pistorius murder trial is ordering him to undergo a psychiatric evaluation on monday. pistorius is on trial killing his girlfriend. prosecutors requested a mental examination after a psychiatrist testified pistorius suffered from anxiety. the trial won't resume until june 30-th. a driver going the wrong way on the kennedy, crashed into a semi truck. a mini-van was going south in the northbound lanes, when it hit the semi near north avenue early this morning. the mini-van driver is in the hospital, but he wasn't seriously injured. the truck driver wasn't hurt at all. no charges have been filed. the three-year-old girl who was found dead inside a northwest side home died from injuries due to child abuse. the medical examiner's office says ashley mendoza suffered multiple injuries and blunt force trauma. she was found sunday night in

her family's home in the 33- hundred block of north natchez avenue. no charges have been filed but police are talking with a person of interest. the hammond, indiana police officer who was caught on video abusing his patrol dog is back on the job and will undergo more training. last month, a bystander recorded this video showing the officer hitting the dog with its leash and holding it up in the air by its neck. the police chief says the incident was investigated and there was no abuse because he used techniques used to train the police dogs. with elections looming, illinois lawmakers are nervous about supporting a bill to extend the state's temporary income tax hike. governor quinn's proposal is still well short of the votes it needs in the general assembly. >> we are doing our very best to get to that majority. i think my philosophy in life is hope for the best and work for it. we are working hard on getting those boats in this house of representatives. obviously we have to keep on working until we get there. >>the governor spent two hours yesterday, lobbying lawmakers to keep the higher tax rate. he says the additional tax

revenue is needed, if the state is going to keep spending at its current pace. bruce rauner says he doesn't condone the confederate flag and was un-aware a man he shook hands with was wearing the symbol on his sleeve. the republican nominee for governor was filmed with the man during a motorcycle event over the weekend. a group of democratic leaders is demanding an apology. at a town hall meeting monday, rauner responded he can't control who's in a crowd and who he shakes hands with at a campaign event. president obama is coming home for a short stay later this week. he will be in town thursday for two fundraising events for senator dick durbin. durbin is running against republican jim oberweis in november. the two events, a reception and a dinner, are by invitation only. the president will spend thursday night in chicago and leave on friday. the 9-11 memorial museum in new york city officially opens to the public tomorrow and there's a controversy brewing as some critics say it's too commercial.those critics say it's a revenue-generating tourist attraction - with a pricey 24 dollar admission fee. many are also outraged by the museum's gift shop - that sells

morning in north carolina for a marine who reportedly fell out of an osprey aircraft. a marine corps spokeman says the marine was taking part in a normal training mission last night when he somehow fell out of the aircraft. local responders began their search last night in a wooded area of bladen county but they came up empty handed. no word on how many people were in the aircraft when it happened. the marine's name has not been released. some cases the will not use of
