it more of the same on the outbound of the jane addams from 47 to mchenry. right now not causing too many backups but we will watch it and let you know how it goes in the next few hours. >>the chance for the blackhawks to repeat as champions is over. it all ended with a heartbreaking overtime loss to the l-a kings. a lot of goals were scored between the two teams early on. it's tied at three, with less than two minutes to play in the second, when patrick sharp blasts one in for the power play goal. sharp had two goals in this one. but the kings came back in the third. dustin brown takes a shot on goal, and marian gaborik is there for the put-back to tie it up. then in overtime, the kings get behind the net and find alec martinez, whose shot gets deflected off nick leddy and past corey crawford. kings win five to four in o-t. they'll play the new york rangers for the stanley cup.

tonya francisco is live on the near west side with more fan reaction to the hawks disappointing loss. >> they are crushed. fans are crushed. hopefully they are slipping off their disappointment at this hour. but here at the grill, the official restaurant for the blackhawks, the window that has been keeping track of that road into the cup is frozen in time. five wins short of a repeat. fans gathered at their favorite bars hoping they would be able to pull off the seemingly impossible feat of coming back from being down three games to 12 seasons in a row to make it to the final. it looked good early on but after 5 minutes 47 seconds of overtime that was it. heartbreak said in an those fans poured out into the streets shocked that their team was headed home instead of to the finals. >> they played their hearts out.

shootings since yesterday afternoon. a 27-year-old man was shot several times and killed at about ten o'clock last night in the 62-hundred block of south francisco avenue in the chicago lawn neighborhood. the man's name has not been released. about an hour earlier, a 31- year-old man was shot several times in the 96-hundred block of south brennan avenue. he later died at the hospital. no arrests have been made in either shooting. an employee at a lincoln park dairy queen was robbed while closing the store. it happened in 22 hundred block of north lincoln avenue sunday night. a man wearing a ski mask approached the 28-year-old woman and pulled out a weapon he grabbed her cell phone and ran. no one was injured in the incident. a woman boater is dead... and the coast guard has indefinitely suspended its search for two fellow boaters whose boat capsized in lake michigan. their 30-foot motorboat caught fire and flipped over, saturday evening on a return trip from new buffalo, michigan to burnham harbor. a surviving boater told searchers, two others had been dropped off before the boat capsized. >> he didn't know who he was although he wanted to get out of

the water and as we started to warm him up he became more coherent. >>a woman was pulled from the water in cardiac arrest... she didn't survive. searchers covered a roughly 40- mile square, before suspending their effort last night. the missing boaters are a 30- year-old man and a 27-year-old woman. their names, and the name of the boat, are currently being withheld. a man from chicago rescued his girlfriend from lake michigan... but then he slipped beneath the water and never resurfaced. it happened saturday near michigan city as ron wood junior and seven friends shut off their boat's engine and decided to take a swim. a rescuer says the water was so cold, the swimmers could barely breathe. wood's girlfriend panicked... and wood rescued her, then jumped in to help another woman. the coast guard and a passing boat rescued all the swimmers... but wood wasn't found. taking a look at the *other top stories this morning. an 11-year-old from northwest suburban cary was killed early sunday morning when a tree limb fell on her tent at a camp ground in wisconsin. the girl was camping with her father and 13-year-old brother

at devil's lake state park near baraboo. thunderstorms moved through the area overnight and a 60-foot oak tree fell. a limb from that tree fell across their tent about 4 a-m. the girl was killed instantly, her father was pinned by the limb and her brother suffered minor injuries. their names have not been released. investigators are calling an extra-alarm fire that spread to three buildings on the south side "suspicious." the fire broke out early sunday morning at an abandoned t-v repair shop near 87th and commercial. one woman jumped from a second- floor window to escape the fire. she was taken to the hospital and is in good condition. the chicago police departments bomb and arson unit is investigating. same sex marriage is legal state-wide. the measure went into effect yesterday. 48th ward alderman harry osterman hosted a community celebration in . and dozens of gay couples were joined together at of unity in chicago rogers park yesterday. many county clerks offices were open sunday to issue marriage licenses.

happened yesterday evening around 7-30.. the earthquake had a magnitude of 4-point-2 and was centered in the santa monica mountains. the quake is considered small, and has caused two aftershocks. there was no significant damage to infrastructure and no reports of injuries. the father of one of the victims of the latest california shooting massacre met with the gunman's father over the weekend. richard martinez's only son, christopher, was killed may 23rd when elliott rodger opened fire in the town of isla vista, killing six people near the university of california at santa barbara. martinez has been outspoken about gun control since the shootings. yesterday he met with rodger's father for the first time. there were no cameras at the meeting, but both men say they plan to work together so other families don't suffer the same way they are. a private plane crash killed seven people, including the owner of the new york nets and the philadelphia inquirer. lewis katz and his fellow fliers had flown from new jersey to boston for an event. they had just taken off on their return flight saturday evening, when the plane caught fire and crashed. former pennsylvania governor ed rendell says, katz had invited *him on that trip... but he was unable to attend, and that's why he's alive.

a woman in florida was rushed to the hospital after she was bitten by a shark. 22-year old jessica vaughn was tubing with a group of friends near fort lauderdale sunday afternoon. while she was in the water, she says the shark's fin hit her... then she was attacked. these pictures show just how deep shark teeth sank into her leg. vaughn was taken to the hospital where underwent surgery last night. she is expected to be okay. more good news for a couple from ohio whose twin daughters were born holding hands last month. bill and sarah thistlethwaite have been told, their daughters jenna and jillian are doing so well, they may get to go home from the hospital in time for father's day. they're considered "mono mono" twins, because they shared the same sac in their mother's womb. the girls have both have grown to more than five pounds. dad says his biggest challenge is getting the nursery painted in time for his daughters' homecoming. >> demetrius, that was a good weekend. >> it was. i went to las vegas and came back. let's take a look

it was stiviano's recording with the l-a clippers owner that led to sterling receiving a lifetime ban from the n-b-a. he visited a predominantly black church in los angeles yesterday. the pastor invited him to work with the congregation. the former clippers owner accepted the investigation and sat in the front row. he hoped church members were praying for him. >>the e-p-a is expected today to propose a new rule that america's existing power plants must cut their carbon dioxide emissions by nearly a one-third by the year 2030. some scientists say carbon dioxide raises the earth's temperature.. critics of the proposal say it would cost tens of billions of dollars, reduce job opportunities, and devastate the coal industry, while doing very little to change the global temperature. the proposal faces a year-long comment and review period. newly released documents from the national security agency reveal that the n-s-a is building a database of faces. the new york times reports, new software allows the agency to harvest people's pictures from facebook, twitter, text messages, emails and videoconferences. the n-s-a says the database could help it identify

terrorists from airport surveillance cameras... or any number of other ways. there's no word on how many pictures the database has already. illinois lawmakers wrapped up their spring session and headed home until the fall session in november with a stack of bills waiting on the governor's desk. lawmakers passed the budget but did not extend the state income tax that was instituted back in 2011. the house and senate did pass hundreds of bills among the legislation that would change procedures or research for growing hemp and provide harassment protection for intern's. they wait to become law. >>construction on a 2-point-6 million dollar skate park in grant park is set to begin this week. the mayor to use 2 and a half million dollars in city funding support the project. but that has not been approved yet. the city council is scheduled to vote on it later this month. in addition to skate ramps and

injured when an inflatable "bouncy house" blew away in a 30-mile-an-hour wind. it happened in littleton, just outside of denver. the inflatable structure rolled about 300 feet, the length of a football field, before coming to a stop. a little girl was thrown out when it started to blow away, and a little boy was trapped inside. neither injury was serious. the company that operates the device says it followed all safety precautions. here are a few stories that are trending online this morning ... the son of denver broncos general manager john elway was arrested for assault. police in denver aren't giving specifics. but they say, 24-year-old jack elway was picked up saturday morning for misdemeanor assault and disturbing the peace. the younger elway was arrested his parents' home. the broncos will say only that it's a family matter, and the team will have no further comment. the sunday times is reporting

qatar paid millions of dollars in bribes to secure the 2022 world cup. the newspaper claims it has documents which show qatari football official mohamed bin hammam paid 5-million-dollars to bring the soccer tournament to the small country on the persian gulf. qatar's world cup organizing committee denies the allegations and says its lawyers are looking into the matter. the actress who played the housekeeper "alice" on the tv show 'the brady bunch' has died. ann b. davis fell and hit her head saturday morning. she never regained consciousness. the 'brady bunch' was one of the first tv shows to focus on a non-traditional family. ann b. davis played the role of maid, who helped keep the blended family connected. davis won two emmy awards for 'the bob cummings show,' before joining the bradys. she was 88 years old. levi johnston, the former fiancee of bristol palin, is about to have his second child with his wife sunny oglesby. they posted a photo of the two of them with a bottle of prego speghetti sauce, along with the caption, "we're prego."
