tuesday our high temperatures will be cooler than in yesterday. mostly sunny this afternoon with showers developing late-night. that will, after midnight. 73 degrees right now in chicago. samlet radar shows we are dry. you will need your umbrella. a cold front down to the south will move along tonight and that's what's going to kick in and more showers late tonight. wednesday could be a washout. 81 degrees today. a big cooled down overnight. in the three days forecast we reach 82 degrees for a high temperature. showers and storms wednesday. rain for much of the morning and afternoon high of 68 tomorrow. >> let's look at the overnight construction causing some minor

delays on the roads. starting with a project at 62 it goes all the way out to 53. working on the signals that will be in place through july. we have some lean blockish to watch for that. also in line of yellow indicates we are seeing a lot of break inaction on the inbound jane addams. two lanes down until 5:00. the work goes from barrington over to 59. we have a few other spots along the bishop ford from king to cottage grove. we will have a break and come up. >>six people were shot outside a south side laundromat, and now police are looking for the person who opened fire in a busy strip mall. tonya francisco is live at comer children's hospital with the story. >> could morning. among the

victims were to teenagers. a 14 year-old boy was brought here to the children's hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound to the leg. a 16 year-old boy taken to crest medical center also shot in the leg. no information on their condition. from what we are told, to teens among a total of seven people injured when the gunfire erupted at the laundromat in the strip mall of the 2600 block of east 79th street. police say just after 8:00 p.m. the man ran up and fired into a crowd. paramedics found four victims inside the laundromat and three outside. three men ages 41-42-52 were shot. one in the elbow, one in the arm and another in the leg. a woman also shot and a 25 year- old woman injured her toe while trying to get away. she was not hit by a bullet. police say none of the injuries are life

threatening and most of the victims were treated and released from the hospital. no suspects are in custody at the time. >> to 12 year old girls and wisconsin are accused of murdering-judge trying to murder their friend after seeing something on line. both charged as adults with attempted first- degree homicide. prosecutors say they attacked their friend on saturday during a game of hide and seek. one girl held the victim down all the other stabbed her 19 times. police said they planned it for months because of an internet or character. >> both suspects had a fascination with a character that often posted to web site with a collection of small stories about death and horror. >>the victim was found alive on a sidewalk. doctors say one stab wound was a millimeter away from killing

her. there are already political and constitutional questions over the prisoner swap that freed sergeant bowe bergdahl from afghanistan. >>as andrew spencer reports, there is now a *military controversy, as some of bowe's former soldiers level some serious accusations against him. >> and yellow balloons and yellow ribbons now decorate idaho as the city waits for a home town soldier. he spent nearly five years in captivity. >> release me please. i am begging you. >> some fellow soldiers say it doesn't make him a hero. >> getting captured after he walked away, that on him. >> and least six soldiers died while searching for him and many who served with him say the only explanation for his disappearance is that he intentionally left his unit behind and wandered off. >> six of my best friends are dead in direct relation to this man who is now being called a

hero by the president. and he is not. he is a traitor. he deserted his unit and it was a combat zone. >> others like this rear admiral don't concern themselves with the how and why. >> it doesn't matter the circumstances in which he was taken. whether it was negligence of his own or due to enemy action. it doesn't matter. if you are held captive by forces that we are at war with we will do everything we can to get you back. >> a u.s. official said special forces carry him away from his captors in a helicopter he broke down crying when they told him they had been looking for him for a long time. it's been a long time for the roughly 8000 residents of the town who wait for him to recover in time return home. >>taking a look at the *other top stories this morning. former congressman jesse jackson junior is expected to

get out of prison three months early. jackson is serving a two-and- year-prison sentence for misusing campaign funds. he was originally scheduled to be released in december of next year, but is now expected to get out in september of 2015. jackson has also paid the remaining 550-thousand dollars that he owed the federal government. federal prosecutors have started presenting secretly recorded conversations in which state representative derrick smith allegedly schemed to take a 7-thousand dollar bribe from a day care center operator. smith's defense argues, he was entrapped. more recordings are expected to be played today when the trial continues. chicago police are searching for a man who sexually assaulted a woman inside a bar in wrigleyville. officials are not naming the bar, but it happened on clark south of addison. the incident was reported by the victim early sunday. police only have a vague description of her attacker. the coast guard plans to question the only survivor of a boating accident on lake michigan. the man was pulled from the water sunday morning, after the boat capsized on a trip from

new buffalo, michigan, to burnham harbor. 26-year-old ashley haws died after going overboard. the boat's owner and a woman in her 20's are missing and presumed dead. a father from cary is talking publicly about the freak accident that killed his ten- year-old daughter during a camping trip last weekend. allison spahr died early sunday morning when a big oak tree fell on their tent at the devil's lake state park near baraboo. kevin spahr was camping with his two youngest children, including his 13-year-old son kyle. he says storms moved through the area and they were cuddled together in the tent when the tree came crashing down. the sound of that tree crashing is always in my mind. it was such a large branch that is laid across her chest. she probably didn't even wake up. >>kevin spahr suffered some scratches on his leg. his son was o-k. he says he talked with them about packing up and heading home before the storms came saturday but the kids wanted to stay. funerals services for allison are scheduled for friday.

ogden international school on chicago's near north side held another meeting to address a case of anti-semitic bullying. several eighth grade students were suspended last week for harassing a classmate who is jewish. the suspended students are accused of telling the jewish student to get into an oven and wear striped pajamas, like a holocaust victim. the kids also played the online game "clash of clans", and called their team "jew incinerator". some say suspension is not enough. >> but consider this bullying, it's not a lean that minimizes what happened. >> several parents who have gotten up in the meeting and said their kids have been bullied and the principle has never done anything. >>a statement from mayor emanuel was read at last night's meeting. he said there is no room in our schools for bullying of any kind. c-p-s continues to investigate the incident. several boats were damaged when a swift storm blew through

a manhunt in california is over after f-b-i agents arrest a man wanted in an explosives investigation. agents tracked down ryan

chamberlain yesterday near the golden gate bridge in san francisco. his arrest was caught on cell phone video by a bystander. the f-b-i had been looking for chamberlain since saturday, after they searched his home. they suspected he was in possession of explosives. yesterday, chamberlain posted a suicide note on his facebook page, saying he was facing financial problems and had been fighting depression for years. the n-r-a says one gun rights movement is getting too extreme for them. the n-r-a has historically supported gun owners' rights. but it's not supporting demonstrators in texas who are displaying their weapons at fast food restaurants and coffee shops. the demonstrators say that guns should be allowed everywhere. but the n-r-a calls impractical and downright weird. they say displaying a gun in public, just to draw attention to yourself, can be scary to others. a father in utah is being hailed a hero for stopping a high speed police chase that came dangerously close to kids playing in a park. police were trying to stop a 14-year-old driver who had stolen his grandfather's car. they called the chase off when the teen drove into the park.

but a father, who was angry his kid almost got hit, took matters into his own hands. he jumped into his truck and rammed the stolen car. a unversity in south carolina fired one of its professors after his picture appears on a beer can. paul roof worked at charleston southern university... until he got his notice last friday. charleston southern is a christian university... and it said roof's image on a beer can didn't represent the school's christian environment. roof says, he entered a beard and mustache competition... and found out later that someone used his picture without his permission. >> my image and my likeness which i do not own that i never received compensation for. it was a surprise for me that it would be on a beer can. >>roof says his firing is unfair, and his entire life has been turned upside down. the school hasn't responded to roof's claim that his picture was used without permission.

and-p hit new records, as stocks end monday mixed. the dow gained 26 points. the nasdaq lost five. and the s-and-p added one. seattle just became the first major city to raise its minimum wage to 15-dollars an hour. starting april first, companies with more than 500 employees have three years to pay minimum wage workers 15-dollars an hour. companies with fewer workers will have 7 years. some small business owners say they're worried this could put

franchise owners say they're being treated unfairly. a local franchise, like a mc- donalds, is considered a big business under the new law. the group that mayor emanuel formed to tackle the minimum wage issue, just announced its first public hearing. the minimum wage working group will welcome public input at kennedy king college, monday night, from seven to nine. the dates and places for four other public forums will be announced later this week. time for sports. the blackhawks were one bounce away from the stanley cup final... but now they're looking toward next season. the hawks will take several weeks off, but g-m stan bowman will have to work on the roster in the off- season. jonathan toews and patrick kane are both entering the final year of their deals. they're both due large raises, and negotiations on contract extensions will begin next month. 19 players are under contract for next season, including the core players, but there's several free agents like michael handzus, sheldon brookbank, and ben smith.

>> the morning. the good news is that all of the victims are expected to survive. including to teenagers. 14 and 16 year-old both shot in the leg. the 14 year-old was brought here to the children's hospital. witnesses reported hearing as many as 19 shots and seen people running. that was just after 8:00 p.m. at a laundromat in a strip mall at east 79th street. police say emailed gunman ran up and fired into a crowd hitting six people. a seventh victim was not shocked but she was injured while trying to run away from the gunfire. paramedics found four of the victims inside the laundromat and three outside. in addition to the 14 and 60 year-old, three men ages 41-52 were shot. one in the elbow, one in hand and the

third in the leg. a 27 year-old woman was also shot in the leg and a 25 roman was injured while trying to run away. police have no suspect in custody and no description of the gunman. back to you. >>a six year old cousin of chicago bull taj gibson was stabbed to death inside an elevator. that happened in an apartment building in new york sunday. a man attacked six year old prince avitto and a seven year old girl with a large kitchen knife. avitto died of his injuries. gibson wrote on instagram, "they killed my little superman...tears forever." the other victim is still in the hospital. no arrests have been made. police say the attacker may have also stabbed a teenager to death a few blocks away on friday. president obama arrived in poland overnight -- the first stop on a four-day european tour. the president touched down in warsaw and was greeted by the president of poland.

the two leaders then met with u- s and polish airmen. president obama will be in poland tomorrow to visit "freedom day" which marks the country's first partially-free elections 25 years ago. during his trip, mister obama will also attend the g-7 summit in belgium and visit the beaches of normandy on friday to mark the 70th anniversary of the d-day invasion. there is a new controversy over the prisoner swap that freed sergeant bowe bergdahl from afghanistan. some of the soldiers who served with bergdahl, say he intentionally deserted his unit. and six members of that unit died while searching for him. >> 6 of my best friends are dead in direct relation to this man who is now being claimed a national hero by our president. he is not. he is a traitor. he deserted his unit and ... >>the obama administration traded five prominent taliban members at guantanamo prison for bergdahl. the white house says the president has the authority to negotiate prisoner swaps with other countries. critics say, the taliban are not a country... and there is no guarantee the released

prisoners won't return to terrorism. taking a look at the *other top stories this morning. chicago police are searching for a man who sexually assaulted a woman inside a bar in wrigleyville. officials are not naming the bar, but it happened on clark south of addison. the incident was reported by the victim early sunday. police only have a vague description of her attacker. two 12-year old girls are charged as adults with the attempted murder of their friend. police in wisconsin say morgan geyser and anissa weier stabbed another 12 year old girl 19 times saturday. the victim survived and is in the hospital. police say the girls planned the attack for months, because of a fascination with a horror website. the reward being offered to find the person who shot and killed special education teacher betty howard has been increased to seven thousand dollars. howard's family says members of the community have donated enough money to raise the reward from the original two thousand dollars. howard was hit by stray bullets and killed last week near 79th and evans. she was teacher at gwendolyn brooks college prep.

former congressman jesse jackson junior is expected to get out of prison three months early. jackson is serving a two-and- year-prison sentence for misusing campaign funds. he was originally scheduled to be released in december of next year, but is now expected to get out in september of 2015. jackson has also paid the remaining 550-thousand dollars that he owed the federal government. a federal lawsuit has been filed against three tinley park firefighters. omar ali, who is african- american and a muslim, claims they deliberately sprayed him with a hose as he walked past their firehouse wearing a turban last month. ali says it was a hate crime. the lawsuit says ali confronted the firefighters that day while his video camera was rolling, and two of the firefighters admitted to spraying ali with the hose. the firefighters told police they were clearing water lines. a hispanic community group and its former leaders are facing fraud charges. the united neighborhood organization, or "uno," got 98 million dollars from the state of illinois to build two charter schools. juan rangel was chairman of the group... miguel d'escoto was senior vice president. "uno" gave an 11-million dollar contract to a window company

owned by d'escoto's brother. federal officials say, that's a potential conflict of interest... and it should have been declared, when "uno" borrowed 37 million dollars from wall street investors. "uno" has agreed to settle federal civil charges... but some of its officials, and others who stood to benefit from the charter school contracts, may still face charges. bruce rauner says he doesn't plan on changing illinois' new gay marriage law, if he becomes governor. the new gay marriage law took effect yesterday. rauner had once said that he would have vetoed it, if he was the governor. but now he's not expressing any personal beliefs on the issue. >> i don't have the agenda to change it. the only way to the referendum and voters wanted change. i don't have social issue agendas. >>rauner also criticized lawmakers for passing a budget that borrows more but does not cut spending. he did not give details on how he would fix that as governor.

governor quinn says he would address questions about the budget today. president obama reportedly wants to move when his term ends. despite his deep connections to chicago, politico is reporting that the president has told his friends he would like to live in new york city. the article goes on to say president obama wants to establish a foundation similar to the clinton global initiative, and he thinks the big apple might be the best place to do that. the 'hidden cash" phenomenon appears to be taking chicago by storm. it started with a mystery millionaire in california who's leaving envelopes of cash for lucky twitter followers. that work has inspired *two chicagoans to follow suit with hidden cash campaigns of their own. they want to remain anonymous, but one of the generous donors says he's just a normal guy who works two jobs to support his family. both of the givers hope the folks who find the money will pay it forward. >> what am i going to do? there's a guy on the street corner every day he's about 60 years old. he might get that.

they've shut down a hacker network that infected as many as a million computers... stole bank records... and extorted money from computer owners. the justice department says, "gameover zeus" software was used, to drain money from bank accounts. a second program, "crypto locker," allowed hackers to seize control of computers, and demand cash from the owners to *unlock those computers. the scheme was masterminded from russia... arrests are expected in nearly a dozen countries. hall of fame quarterback dan marino is suing the n-f-l over concussions. marino, and 14-other former players, filed a federal lawsuit last week. they claim the n-f-l hid information about game related brain injuries and misled

players. the suit seeks medical monitoring and unspecified damages. no specific symptoms are listed for marino, who retired in 1999 after 17-seasons with the miami dolphins. we now know why the son of john elway was arrested for suspicion of assault. john elway the third surrendered to police saturday at his father's home in suburban denver. denver police now say, the younger elway is accused of dragging his girlfriend from his car, by her hair. the police report says, elway and the woman argued in the car in downtown denver... and at one point, he stopped the car, yanked her out and pushed her to the ground. then he ran away, leaving the car and his driver's license behind. a routine court proceeding turned into a brawl in florida when the judge punched a public defender. >> i have a right to be here i am a public defender. >> eyes said sit down. if you want to fight let's go out back. >> nice to see ever been getting

camera. >> we remember that old phone. it was a big deal. but it's all over for the i phone 4. a moment of silence for the i phone 4. not to be left out, samsung unveiled its latest gadget late sunday night. the samsung z runs on its new operating system called tizen. its their first phone to depart from google's android operating system. samsung says the new tizen platform is quicker and easier to use. and finally, if you always wanted your own render farm, pixar is here to help you out. the studio behind hits like toy story and monsters university will be offering its renderman 3d animation software as a free download. the company says they want to encourage growth in a new generation of animators. you can sign up to download the free version on pixar's website, the only catch is that you cant use it for commercial purposes.

academy award winner lupita nyong'o was just cast in the new star wars movie. she tweeted: "i can finally say it out loud and proud: i'm going to a galaxy far far away!" she recently won an oscar for her role in "12-years a slave." gwendolien christie, from "game of thrones" is also joining the movie. we have not heard about either one of their characters. episode seven comes out in december of next year. chris brown sent his first tweet since being released from jail early. brown thanked god, saying he was "humbled and blessed". he also wrote that he now wants to get back to focusing on his music and fans. brown was supposed to be in the los angeles county jail until the end of the month on a probation violation, stemming from the 2009 assault on his then-girlfriend rihanna. but, was let out yesterday due to overcrowding. he still faces assault charges

in washington, d-c. police have found miley cyrus' stolen maserati. the luxury car was taken friday after two people broke into her hollywood home. police say the thieves stole jewelry and the 100-thousand dollar maserati while cyrus was in europe on her "bangerz" tour.the car turned up yesterday, parked on a street in simi valley. police say the car was not damaged. still no sign of the missing jewelry. the wife of casey kasem was caught on camera, flinging a package of hamburger at her stepdaughter. jean kasem, and casey's daughter kerri, got into a fight before casey kasem was rushed to a hospital in washington state. kerri kasem was recently granted authority over her father's medical care. but yesterday, a judge said kasem can be sent home to his wife if doctors give the o-k. >> let's take a look at the forecast. >> one more day of nice weather today after that temperatures will fall. the grain comestonight. today we make 82. are we have rain. sunshine
