it is really summer. the only thing keeping me from putting in 90 in the forecast for today is the possibility of an afternoon lake breeze. the wind is not very strong. generally this time of year when that happens you conceal the wind off lake michigan. that will cool the downtown area. it will be warmer than we have seen over the weekend. the humidity will be slowly increasing.

this morning we're off to a great start. some fairweather cumulus clouds as you see they're drifting over the skyline and over parts of lake michigan. today at the moment we are already above 80 degrees in chicago. st. louis at 88 degrees. take a look at how much of the country is really warm. but is only the midday hour. the only cool spots are out there in the pacific northwest. in chicago at the moment committee is only about 41%. it is not at all uncomfortable at the moment. the dew point to be increasing. that will cause the committee to go up as well. the wind southwest 7 mi. per hour. not strong enough to overcome a lake breeze. visibility unrestricted currently at 10 mi.. all of the action is in fact a little farther out to the west. the big storms taking place in parts of minnesota in parts of western iowa. some really

powerhouse storms. it is possible we could see a storm in the chicago area this afternoon. throughout the weekend it was raining rather heavily along the gulf coast. now you can see it is a little quieter. hail and strong wind have been the issue. tomorrow this area which includes chicago or at least the north suburbs has been out look for the possibility of severe storms. that we will watch for. he saw one batch moving along the northern suburbs. a little more of that stuff. by wednesday we could see more afternoon storms. over the next several days we have vacated a chance of showers and thunderstorms. more than an inch and maybe even 2 in. just over the border
