on stable atmosphere, moist and warm air. it won't be until this time next week or things cool down and cried down. our high today is near 90. possibility of strong storms. almost anything has potential to be strong if not severe. it is 79 at the lakefront. lansing is 76 degrees. we find rainshowers and even thunderstorms north of the area. that will continue to go to the north. we stay drive right now nothing is popping up currently. but the potential is there for those areas shaded in yellow under that slight risk of being a strong or severe storm. if today's high temperature all the way up to 90 degrees. >> good morning. everything is

fell from the train. it happened around 6:45 p.m. when a set of wheels from the northbound orange line train some have derailed and that cost nearly 100 steel track fasteners and pieces of wood to rain down on to the street below. no one was hurt by the falling debris. but all orange and pink and green and brown line trains were halted for about one hour. despite all the debris, the cta claims the the room and did not cause any structural damage. >> there are literally hundreds of thousands of pieces of metal on that structure and for the few that were damaged we will prepare them. >> the repairs were trapped at 1:30 a.m. and service was back to normal by 2:00. there were said to be some signal problems

obelisk kids and everything fell on top of us. >> recklessly, they all survived though she and her husband are still being treated. more funnel clouds formed on tuesday as more storms rolled through sweeping into wisconsin which sought damaged early on tuesday as well. a tornado touched down and lifted several times as the wind damaged more than 40 homes in madison. survivors count themselves lucky if especially after close calls like this one. this bank was basically a blip in half with nine people still inside. most were inside the vault. all narrowly escaping injury. the suspected ringleader of the deadly terrorist attack on the u-s consulate in benghazi, is now in custody on a u-s warship. special forces captured ahmed abu khattala, in benghazi on sunday. he's accused of being the leader on the consulate attack that killed four americans in september of 2012. he's now aboard the u-s-s new

york, in the mediterranean sea. khattala has been living openly in libya, even though he's a known leader of a militant group with ties to al qaeda. he will now face charges in civilian court in washington, as early as next week. president obama meets with congressional leaders today, to search for the proper response to the islamist militant takeover of iraq. members of the al-qaeda splinter faction "isis" moved into the city of baquba yesterday, and are fighting with police, less than 40 miles from baghdad. so far, the city hasn't fallen. an american aircraft carrier and five other warships are deployed in the persian gulf, awaiting orders for possible airstrikes against the attackers. a soldier from mokena was remembered yesterday at a memorial service in afghanistan. aaron toppen was one of five troops who died in a "friendly fire" incident earlier this month. they called for air support during an ambush by the taliban... but the coalition planes mistakenly targeted the americans. taking a look at the *other top stories this morning. a shooting in the north

lawndale neighborhood left a 14 year old boy critically injured. he was walking in the 14- hundred block of south drake avenue when he was hit in the lower back yesterday night. earlier that evening, a shooting in the west garfield park neighborhood left a 30- year-old man dead. he suffered a gunshot wound to the head. chicago police are warning residents of a pair of home invasions on the city's far northwest side. just after one monday afternoon, two to three masked men broke into a home in the 63- hundred block of lowell avenue in the sauganash neighborhood. they were armed with hand guns and searched the house. a similar break in happened june 7th 58-hundred block of north jersey avenue. a shot was fired inside the home in one of the attacks. police believe the same suspects were involved in both incidents.no arrests have been made. a search is underway for a missing man in gurnee. it's been more than a week since 57-year old andy adler went on one of his regular long distance bike rides and never returned. police say the biggest challenge to finding adler is the vast area that needs to be searched. his 40 to 50 mile rides could have taken him almost anywhere. daniel shoffner is being held

without bond -- accused of killing a woman, and stuffing her body in a freezer. the body of birdie elder was found monday in a 3-foot-tall freezer at her home in laporte. prosecutors say shoffner admitted stabbing her -- claiming he was practicing knife moves. they did not disclose a motive. police arrested four people for using a dating website to find someone they could beat up and rob. 18 year old andrew widmer and laroy bills are both charged with robbery and battery. a 16 year old girl and a 17 year old boy face charges as juveniles. police say the group set up a date with a man they met online saturday night. they say the girl met the man in round lake beach and led him to an area where the other suspects attacked and robbed him. there's growing support for bringing a floating entertainment complex to the lake. breakwater chicago is a proposed vessel that would be half a mile from shore. it's designed to entertain up to two-thousand people with its restaurants, bars, and a swimming pool. a kickstarter campaign for this

off the western coast of malaysia overnight, killing at least two people and dozens more missing. the boat was carrying 97 suspected illegal immigrants from indonesian when it sank in the strait of malacca. officials say women and children were among those on board. 60 people were rescued but another 34 are still missing. those missing. the boat was reportedly not fit for sea travel. it had no life jackets on board. >>two inmates in georgia and missouri were put to death overnight - becoming the first executions since a botched execution in oklahoma in april. marcus wellons was declared dead just before midnight at a prison in jackson, georgia.

he was convicted of raping and killing a 15-year-old girl in 1996. minutes later, john winfield was executed in missouri. winfield was sentenced to death for the shooting deaths of two women in 1996. both men were executed by lethal injection. and a third death row inmate is scheduled to be executed in florida at six o'clock tonight. john henry was convicted of killing his wife in 1985. a federal appeals court has denied his final request for a delay. the circus acrobats injured in a hair-hanging stunt have hired a chicago law firm. their human chandelier act came crashing down last month during a show in providence rhode island. the ringling brothers performers are undergoing rehabilitation at a center in boston. four of the eight injured told tearful stories today of their nightmares and painful recoveries. one says she dreamed of becoming a star-- now she dreams of walking again. >> all of us are terribly injured. some of us require many surgeries and may need even

stocks closed higher tuesday for the third straight session. the dow rose 27. the nasdaq added 16. and the s-and-p gained four. the california beer has paved the way for the largest brewery in chicago. the brewing co. has set up shop in an old complex on the city's west side. 300,000 sq. ft. 1.5 million bar. of beer per year also created 150 jobs. the tack room and restaurant will open next wednesday or you can drink one of their craft beers that they produce in the same facility. the company says that will give you the full an intensive flavor. check out a prototype that in turn it watch into a smart watched. it sinks in tears parfum also shows you alert for text messages it can be used to control your television like a remote. it will come out in october for

showers and storms across michigan and portions of northern wisconsin. we know this area was hit hard. that area is dry now and we are dry as well. looking at the forecast, you can expect to see showers and storms develop this afternoon. then that line the long days. some areas need the rain across the southern communities. some computer models are kicking out numbers in excess of 1 in. of rain. today, high temperature in the low 90s. typical high would be in the '80s. tomorrow we're back up to 86. >> a few hot spots we have one at rand and elmhurst. that intersection is blocked off. also in downers grove, lingering closure from last night is blocked off. this is all because of a gas leak that happened. that's a look at the roadways.

terrorist attack of the diplomatic compound in benghazi. they grabbed ahmed abu khattala in benghazi on sunday. he's now on a u-s warship, as officials plan to charge him in civilian court in washington. the attack in benghazi stands out as one of the worst moments in hillary clinton's time as secretary of state. clinton answered questions on that and other topics during a c-n-n town hall meeting in washington. the biggest issues covered whether she will run for president and the latest developments involving benghazi. >> i am pleased. this is another vacation as the president said that the u.s. has an unwavering commitment to bring to justice those who are responsible for attacks on americans in a matter where they are or how long it takes. >>hillary clinton is on a book tour for her latest memoir. she did not announce she's running for president, but she did say that some of her political views have evolved over time. she says she's now a proud supporter of gay marriage and is open to discussing

legalizing marijuana. the ex-wife of n-b-a star dwyane filed a federal lawsuit against wade's lawyer, and against the police department in suburban dolton. siohvaughn funches-wade was arrested in 2012 and charged with child abduction and resisting arrest. ultimately, all but the *resisting charge were dismissed. now, funches-wade claims, police and her ex's attorney filed false charges against her. after the arrest, a judge ordered funches-wade to travel to *florida to visit their children, rather than sending them to the chicago area to visit her. a federal judge has removed himself from a long running court case involving michael jordan. jordan filed multi-million- dollar lawsuit against grocery store chain... dominick's. the judge recused himself... after jordan's attorneys claimed he was bias. he didn't go away quietly, though. he called the accusations on his integrity groundless and unwarranted. ironically, this same judge ruled in jordan's favor in this case several years ago... agreeing dominick's used his name without permission in a magazine ad. the two sides are still battling over those damages.

mayor emanuel is winning international praise for his wardrobe. vanity fair has named emanuel as one of the world's best- dressed mayors. his came in forth behind the mayors of london, paris and milan. vanity fair points out emanuel's his fondness for luxurious fabrics, his "salt and pepper hairdo" and his penchant for blue ties. the article also says "perhaps, no politician wears the navy suit better". mayor rahm emanuel is among the critics blasting the glowing "trump" sign on donald trump's building downtown. emanuel says its tasteless, but trump doesn't really care. this feud now has the attention of the daily show. >> i think this is on you. did you not think donald trump would put his name on the building you let him build? it's what he does. have you been to new york or as you think it would be called from the buildings, new trump city? he put up apartment towers that literally block the sun from the entire upper west side. it's the classiest most

caught on camera tossing a bag of dog poop on a neighbor's yard has resigned from his office. earlier this month, the neighbor posted the surveillance video of the mayor of san marino throwing the poop on his grass. residents were outraged and called for the resignation of dennis kneier. at the time, kneier said it was an embarrassing mistake. last night, kneier submitted a letter of resignation and called the incident a "lapse in

because this is it. finally opening day at six flags great america and you could hear everybody cheering they're finally getting on. we have been showing you how they built this from start to finish from day one until now. take a look. >> things are going great. everything is in the ground the starting to put the wood up in the air. >> early december we first visited the construction site at six flags great america. snow had fallen. the rocky mountain construction team was hard at work getting the ride to hundred concrete foot into the ground. building in these conditions you can see that snow already in early december, does this hold them back? how did they deal with this? >> it's important to get the in groundwork done before we get the freezing and the snow on the part is done. it's just a matter of tolerating the temperatures.

>> you can use a banana as a hammer it's that cold. it's that frozen. >> we were having fun freezing bananas during the polar vortexes the crew was out in below zero temperatures as much as possible. >> these guys have been following through doing an excellent job even with the snow and cold weather. it's on track where it's supposed to be. >> not a surprise but the cold did not stop enthusiasts from coming out for a closer look. >> the special thing about rocky mountain construction is they are the only wooden coasters that go upside-down. they are innovative. >> it's incredible. i first time on a site like this. it's amazing. people don't know what goes into building a ride. look at this tunnel. i've seen pictures by did not note it was

her lawsuit against lady gaga. rebecca francescatti wrote a song called "juda" in 1999. she claimed, lady gaga ripped off her song when she released the song "judas" as part of an album in 2011.
