temperature will be 82. after and scattered showers and storms. more rain on sunday. >> the big traffic story this morning as all week is round two of the kennedy construction. coast now on the outbound side you can expect delays. outbound from chicago to grand everything will be shutdown. nancy is live at ohio and the kennedy to give us a whole preview. >> as you know, the second round of this major traffic headache will kick off at 10:00 p.m. tonight and they fear that this time make things may not go as smoothly as last weekend. this time the focus will be on the outbound side of the kennedy. just like last weekend, five lanes of traffic will be squeezed darren to two lanes with the kennedy closed between grand and often. the eastbound

ramp to the kennedy from the eyck will also be closed. all to accommodate the demolition and removal of the 55 year-old ontario street bridge. work progressed faster than expected last weekend. that allowed them to predict getting the project wrapped up in two weekends instead of three. officials credited drivers for heating warnings, allowing were to progress far more efficiently than expected. however, stormy weather this weekend may be a major factor in addition, the traffic configuration this time in the outbound lanes is far more intricate and involved then last weekend. drivers are urged to steer clear of the kennedy through 5:00 a.m. on monday morning. back to you. she's

in the 65-hundred block of north ashland, when several people approached and opened fire. he's hospitalized in serious condition. video gambling will not be coming. members of a group turned out in opposition to the gambling and one over the trustees in a closed section. three illinois congressman what new federal hearings on the jet noise caused by the airport. they say in a public hearing back in 2005 the faa estimated the number of additional planes taking off would be only one- third or one-fourth of what it actually is. they want the faa to find ways to reduce the noise. a former employee of chicago alderman george cardenas claims last month, because she spoke to federal agents who were investigating him. a lawsuit by maria chavez claims that cardenas is being probed for possible illegal hiring practices and other illegal operations. the aldermen denies there is

any such investigation. the f-b-i won't talk about it. the northwestern philosophy professor, who was investigated for sexual misconduct, is now suing the school. professor peter ludlow filed a federal lawsuit claiming defamation and gender discrimination. he claims the school conducted a one-sided investigation after a student reported that ludlow made sexual advances toward her. he also says the school defamed him by mischaracterizing his punishment to the media. northwestern had no comment on the lawsuit. a woman who was supposed to get i-pads ready for students, is accused of trying to sell them on craigslist. markeita beecher martin is being held on bail after she surrendered to oak park police for theft. she's accused of stealing 47 i- pads, that were intended for students at the school she worked at. officials didn't realize the i- pads were gone, but then investigators found them on craigslist. the sun-times reports beecher martin has admitted to taking them. we told you yesterday, new

that's a shot of michigan avenue is looking pretty wet right now. kenyan forces shot and killed five people who were wanted for a massacre at a world cup viewing party. armed men shot and hacked people to death, during a world cup event on sunday. they then continued their rampage by going door to door. 48 people were killed. kenyan authorities say they killed five suspects as they were trying to escape. the government says the world cup attack was politically motivated and not terrorism. new york's state senate is expected to take a final vote this morning to legalize medical marijuana. governor andrew cuomo and state legislators agreed to the terms of the new law yesterday. once it is approved, new york will become the 23-rd state to allow pot for medicinal purposes.

but it'll have to be inhaled as a vapor... not smoked as a joint. the state health department will work out the details of how medical marijuana can be made, and who can sell it. the u-s centers for disease control says 75 scientists may have been exposed to anthrax. they were testing a new way to kill the bacteria. a c-d-c statement says samples were sent to labs that were not equipped to handle anthrax. workers then handled live bacteria, without wearing the proper safety gear. none of the scientists have any symptoms, but they're taking antibiotics as a precaution. one veterinarian is getting to the bottom of a viral blog post that has pet owners terrified. it's the story of a dog who almost dies after his owner gives him ice water... claiming the cold water caused the dog to 'bloat.' but one vet says that's false. consuming cold water or ice cubes in moderation will not cause bloat. he says ice cubes and water is actually a good thing when the weather is hot. the key is to do it in

is likely headed for training camp five weeks from now. he impressed the bears in a work out a few weeks ago. he had to cram hard to understand their offense but he did well enough to get a shot. he's battling for the backup job with veteran jordan polymer who's been nursing a sore shoulder. off to a good start so far. >> jimmy has done a good job taking the place of trying to learn and work to learn the offense. he has spent long hours here he has had help from the guys in the room to get him where he is. we will see. at the key could be one of the guys that we do bring back. >> hard to coach somebody in there only in two weeks but when i had the opportunity i thought i had to go do anything to do. >> the 11 year-old began her historic appearance at the u.s.

smartphone and tablet. that will have all the latest as well. a few hundred american military advisors are on their way to iraq, to help its government beat back an escalating islamist takeover. militants from the al-qaeda splinter group "i-sis" control several iraqi cities. and yesterday, they seized an old chemical weapons facility that used to belong to saddam hussein. the american advisors will help iraqi security forces. for now, thousands of iraqi families are fleeing their homes and their cities, because they distrust both the islamists and their own government. >> they can report to their iraqi brothers in the fight and also back to our national security apparatus to tell them what's happening. >> going forward, we will be prepared to take decisive military action if and when we determine the situation on the ground requires it. >> for now families are fleeing their homes and cities in the thousands because they don't trust the islamists or their government. 9-1-1 calls reveal how a dispute between neighbors led to gunfire.

thanking him for putting that sign on his building downtown. he says its giving the city positive exposure. trump is spelled out in glowing letters on his building downtown. he says he plans to see them in person, in two weeks. mayor emanuel is not a fan, calling the sign 'tasteless.' trump wrote about it in a commentary in the tribune, whose architecture critic also hates the sign. trump says he got the city's permission, when it granted him the permits. he goes on to say, "the worldwide publicity this criticism has caused, has not only been good for the building, but it has been great for bringing chicago into the news-- and for something other than the negative news of late. perhaps the mayor will thank me someday!" mayor rahm emanuel took a jog along the lakefront with a local tennis star. taylor townsend is the teen who grew up in englewood and chatham.. and upset the 20-th seed in the french open. townsend says the mayor raved about yoga during their mile- and-a-half jog, on the southside. she also says he ran pretty fast and was hard to keep up with. after france, she moved up 50 spots in the rankings to 147-th. townsend heads to wimbledon in july.

nasa is making progress on plans to grab a space rock right now they're is picking out asteroids that it wants' to grab from outer space that they want to study. a robotic spaceship would be used to get the the rock then dragged towards the moon. scientist say studying them will help find ways to protect the earth from asteroids. nasa plans to have an asteroid in the next 20 years so that scientists can run experiments on it. a t-v reporter in north carolina learned that cheerleading is best left to cheerleaders. watch. show them how it's done. isn't she amazing? are you ready? don't split your pants. i'm worried about your pants. did you hear that? >> with a minute, that was not a

against donald sterling's estranged right wife in a legal hearing. stop trying to prevent her husband and his team from contacting witnesses in a court battle. she says her husband threatened one of her lawyers, and two doctors who certified donald sterling as mentally incapacitated. shelly sterling has a pending court case in which she is asking a judge to uphold her negotiated sale of the team, which the couple co-owns. her husband once supported the sale, but now objects to it. lance armstrong couldn't a marine who jumped on a and marine who jumped on a grenade to save a comrade, received the congressional medal of honor from president obama. the nation's highest military honor went to kyle carpenter of jackson, mississippi. it was in november of 20-10 in afghanistan that carpenter jumped on a live grenade during a firefight with the taliban. he lost an eye and most of his jaw. he said he accepts the honor for other service personnel who have been injured... and especially for those who died.
