weeks. 32 israeli soldiers have died. secretary state john kerry says small progress has been made toward convincing the parties to stop fighting. people in the netherlands show an outpouring of grief and support as the bodies of 40 victims of the malaysian airlines flight 17 and arrive home. thousands lined the streets and highways as the bodies were taken in a long procession from the military base. experts will work try to fight the remains and determine when to return them to the families. of all the victims, 193 were from the netherlands. more for means are expected to arrive today and tomorrow. russia continues to deny any direct involvement in shooting down the plane. the white house and the ukraine government refute that. chicago police are investigating two separate shootings. tonya is live with

the details. >> good morning. two of the victims from one of the shootings here to the hospital. the shooting happened last night around 9:00 at 42nd and princeton. police say the victims were standing in the street when a dark suv pulled up and a man started shooting. a 21 year-old man was hit in the foot. a 60 year-old was shot in the armpit and in other 60 year- old was shot in the abdomen all were in critical condition. police say the 21 year-old is a documented gang member. in the second shooting, a 16 year-old was killed when a gunman walked up to a bedroom window and fired. that was just before 9:30 p.m. at 68. the victims came have now been released but a police source says the victim was also a gang member. police have made no arrests in either of the shootings. back to you.

>> police are questioning a suspect in the shooting of 11 urochrome died at a sleep over on the west side. sources say the shooting may have stemmed from a fight between a group of teenagers and the neighborhood. the wake and funeral are scheduled for 10:00 saturday morning the family is seeking donations to help cover the cost of the service. a 4-year-old boy was killed in a fire in northwest suburban bensenville. the fire started in a back bedroom of a home in the 15- hundred block of west devon, around two yesterday afternoon. seven people managed to escape, including three young children. neighbors say the mother kept going back into the smoke- filled home to get them. but 4-year-old martin pletz was hiding. his grandfather says his mother fought hard to find him. >> she fought very hard. really hard.

>> he is a kid who loved life and love to play. just a kid. >> two dogs were also were found dead in the home. the cause of the fire is under investigation. taking a look at the *other top stories this morning. richard daley won't have to testify about an alleged sweetheart deal for the park grill. under the former mayor's administration, the restaurant got a long-term lease for its location in millennium park. mayor emanuel is suing to make the restaurant pay more. yesterday, daley's lawyers convinced a judge that testifying would pose a medical hardship for daley. nine thousand people who got ticketed by chicago's red-light cameras, may be in line for refunds. a city council committee has ordered a review of whether those tickets were issued in error... and if they *were, whether faulty equipment or human tampering was to blame. in many cases, the video evidence from those tickets is no longer available.

the chicago board of education adopted a controversial new budget that relies on a one-time tax windfall. to balance the budget, the school system will collect 14 months of property tax revenue instead of the usual 12. the teachers union argues, the new budget devotes too much spending to charter schools instead of neighborhood schools. a woman was killed in when her car was hit by a tire on the bishop ford. it happened yesterday morning.. when a wheel fell off a southbound chevy blazer .. jumped the median.. and smashed into a northbound car. the driver.. jovanka mijatov of schererville... died shortly after the tire hit her windshield. police say nails found sticking out of slides at a park in oak lawn were *not vandalism, but may be the result of a design flaw. a park district worker called police on monday to show them a nail protruding from the bottom of a slide in memorial park. it was similar to a report filed with police at the same park last month. police determined the nails were not placed there maliciously. they say they were part of the manufacturing or installation process. no one was ever hurt. a girls trach coach at simeon high school is charged with sexually assaulting and abusing several girls on his team.

gerald gaddy appeared in bond court yesterday. prosecutors say the assaults started in february last year and lasted until last month. they say he groped at least two girls and had sex with one of them in his school office. the victims range in age 15 to 17. someone at the school learned of the situation and tipped simeon officials. >> i just recently heard about it. and just finding out i think it's just a disgrace especially since i had a child on the track team. as a parent, i think it's pretty disgraceful. >>gaddy is being held on a 300- thousand dollar bond. c-p-s and police have launched an investigation. a man who spent 20 years in prison for a murder he says he didn't commit, has been freed. rodell sanders was sentenced to 80-years in prison. he says he was framed by a corrupt chicago heights police officer for the 1993 killing of a rival gang member, and the attempted murder of another person. while in prison, sanders asked

who was killed, and 16 year-old and sadly he was shot while in his own home. it happened just before 9:30 p.m. at an apartment building on the corner of 68. investigators say a gunman walked up to the victims first floor bedroom window and fired inside hitting him in the neck. the victims came has not been released sources say he is a gang member. the second shooting happened around 9:00 p.m. at 42. police say the victims were standing in the street when a dark colored as you be pulled up and a man got out and started shooting. three people were hit. 21 year-old man hit in the right foot and right side, a 16 year-old shot in the armpit and another 60 new shops in the abdomen. all were last listed in critical condition. police say the 21 minute year-old who was shot is a documented gang member. no arrests have been made in any of these shootings.

bullet? >>a federal judge ordered the medical examiner's office to preserve physical evidence from the execution, and called for the preservation of brain, liver, and muscle tissue. a known associate of osama bin laden may have his american citizenship revoked. hills, became a citizen in 1993, he raised money for bin laden... and may have fought alongside him. the feds said arnaout used donations to an islamic charity to buy equipment for islamic fighters... but the charge was dropped when arnaout pled guilty to racketeering. now, the justice department is demanding in a civil complaint that he be stripped of his citizenship. arnaout's attorney says, his client has already served his time, and the government is being overzealous in its war in terror. >> it's stupid. it doesn't seem to be any way for whoever is running this country, at the it primarily the intelligence agencies to distinguish between people who are real threats and people who are not.
