>> good morning. we are hearing of the seven injuries in the crash. all were rushed from here to olympia hospital. illinois state police say the crash involved to vehicles in the southbound lanes of the 557 which remained closed for reconstruction of the crash. all traffic been diverted onto lincoln highway and the closure is expected to remain in place for at least the next three hours. not clear how the crash happened around 215 a m but the impact caused the ejection of a woman from the car who suffered a serious leg injury. five others including children were also transported for treatment along with the person from the other vehicle. none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening. police are in the midst of the crash

police say brown was shot during a fight with an officer. but witnesses say brown was clearly surrendering when he was shot multiple times. sunday's vigil turned into a protest, where some people started breaking into stores and stealing merchandise. police are still looking for a man who shot a bank teller during a robbery. that robbery happened at first midwest bank, in southwest suburban bolingbrook, yesterday afternoon. this picture shows the robber, wearing a hat, hood, and bandana over his face. a 21 year old woman was shot in the arm during the robbery. she is now out of the hospital. the robber got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. there were ten to 14 other people inside, but no one else was hurt. >> i saw the customer sitting on her knees with her hands up. i didn't think about anything are ran back to get my mom and i called 911. >> investigators are going through security video to find where the robber went. the bank will remain closed until at least wednesday. a father and son are charged with first-degree murder, in the death of a man from romeoville. 55-year-old richard pollack

confronted a family sunday morning, after his son's skateboard was stolen from his car. police say, that's when mark ballard and his teenaged son adam attacked pollack, and killed him. >> there was an altercation obviously baseball bats were used. the victim was hit with the bat and pronounced dead at the hospital later that night. >> i can't stop thinking about the fact that these police don't have a dad anymore. it's terrible. >>as many as *nine people attacked richard pollack. mark ballard is being held on 5 million dollars bond... his son, on *one million dollars bond. no word yet on charges against anyone else. buffalo grove police say a man who broke into a woman's home and assaulted her, may be linked to another home invasion. the woman woke up to the man straddling her early saturday morning, at her condo in the 11-hundred block of miller lane. there was a brief struggle before the man ran out of the bedroom, and left through an

open patio door. the woman was not hurt. police say the case is similar to a home invasion in the area three years ago, but the man in that case was never caught. eight people were injured in an electrical fire at a high rise owned by the university of chicago, including a child and several firefighters. transformers caught fire in the basement of a building in the 58-hundred block of south dorchester, just after four yesterday afternoon. it took crews an hour to contain the fire. five residents and three firefighters were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. the 33-unit building houses university staff and their families. political conflict in iraq threatens to further extend the crisis over a violent islamist takeover. american air strikes have temporarily stalled the advance of militants from the group "i- sis," and helped rescued thousands of iraqis from the country's northern mountains. many of them were airlifted by helicopter. but president obama warns, the american military can't hold "i-sis" back forever. >> there is no american military

an email. it said, if ford didn't step down within 24 hours, toronto city hall would be blown up. police chose not to order any evacuation, after a bomb- sniffing dog found nothing there. mayor ford is running for re- election. toronto voters will go to the ballot box on october 27-th. investigators are looking at a second video of the deadly crash involving nascar star tony stewart. stewart's car hit and killed kevin ward junior during a sprint car race in new york saturday night. ward had just crashed and was on the track when he was hit and killed by stewart's rear tire. an autopsy ruled the cause of death as 'blunt force trauma.' investigators are still trying to determine if this was an accident or intentional. one legal analyst doubts criminal charges are coming since prosecutors would have to prove intent or reckless behavior. right now there's no evidence proving those. three sailors off the coast of hawaii... are safely back on land after their boat was caught in the remnants of hurricane julio. the u-s coast guard helped rescue the 61-year-old man and two 22-year-old men from their disabled boat.

spain who died this morning. more than 18-hundred people have been infected, according to the world health organization. there's no vaccine, but an experimental drug called z-mapp has shown some results. now the drug is being sent to liberia to treat infected doctors over there. sample doses will be delivered by a u-s government representative. the w-h-o has concluded that its ethical to offer the medicine even if the effects are unknown. russia is sending almost 300 truckloads of humanitarian aid to ukraine. the convoy of trucks left this morning, bound for the country's troubled eastern region, where russian-backed separatists are fighting with ukrainian soldiers. ukraine says russia's interest isn't entirely humanitarian. the government warns, russia has deployed 45 thousand troops along the ukrainian border... and there's a high probability that moscow will intervene militarily on behalf of the separatists who want their country to rejoin russia. stocks ended positive on monday.

the dow gained 16. the nasdaq added 30 and the s-and-p rose five. "jelly belly" is leaving the chicago area. the company has been making jelly beans at a factory in north chicago since the 70's. but, the factory itself has made candy for more than one- hundred years.
