out of the west between 15-20 mi. per hour. that's the type of stuff that will blow off your hat. it will be breezy through the day. rain is likely in the morning. but continue to see the showers. they continue with a few showers and cooler conditions tonight. low to mid '60s right now. 12 hours from now we will be lucky to be in the low 50s. the wind right now 12 mi. per hour out of the west. 10 mi. in kankakee. this is the map in motion and you can see the rain continuing heaviest across portions of central and western cook county. good news is is nothing stronger or severe. just that some of the day that brings us those showers. but you can see the complex of showers continuing to move through. it won't let up through the day until we get to lunchtime. the computer model shows up at the tents of the

bill byrne still running with delays. depending on where you are on the line, an investigation is continuing. we will keep our eye on that in get to look at your travel times in the next few minutes. >>a week after an arson fire shut down the aurora air traffic control center, the head of the f-a-a will tour the center today. the shutdown is still cancelling flights at o'hare airport judy wang is there with more. >> good morning. we already have nearly 170 flights canceled according to the flight website. this is the situation at the airport. this is one week after the fire at the air traffic control facility. the delays and cancellations will likely spill over into another weekend. the combination of stormy weather and the damage at the faa facility caused problems in and

out to yesterday. 850 flights were canceled. southwest earlier in the day decided to cancel all flights at midway. family the weather would have been to blame but what is happening at aurora already has a lot of stress on the airlines and the systems. a contractor accused of setting the fire but we could go leading to a week of travel headaches. investigators say brian howard was upset about a transfer and set the fire and attempted to kill himself. members of the congressional delegation demanded to know how one person could cripple the system leading to ripple effect on travel. faa administrator will tour today and see the damage. they hope to have everything up and running october 13th. until then, travelers are doing the best they can to deal with it. >> i'm just a bit nervous in concerned. >> what are the chances to talk

now for a developing story out of liberia, where another american is infected with ebola. a freelance cameraman for n-b-c news came down with symptoms on wednesday. he's been sent back to the u-s, with his crew. no one on the crew is showing symptoms, but they are quarantining themselves for 21 days as a precaution. the infected cameraman has been working in liberia for the past three years. meanwhile, the man who brought the ebola virus to the united states could be charged with a crime in liberia. thomas duncan has been hospitalized in serious condition since sunday. he flew in to texas from liberia last week before he started showing symptoms. duncan reportedly carried a woman who died of ebola before he left. liberian officials say they'll prosecute duncan if they find out he lied to screeners to get on the plane. health officials are monitoring 100-people in texas who had contact with duncan. that includes a woman and her children who are now quarantined in their apartment. >> they are going to monitor us. we have to stay home for 21

days. we can go outside. if you have to go outside ukelele go on the porch but you can go down the stairs. >>the hospital where duncan is actually sent him home when he first visited last friday. officials say a "flaw" in electronic health records prevented doctors from knowing he had been in liberia. there is new information on the extent of a massive data breach at j-p morgan chase. the company says 83-million accounts were exposed when hackers breached their system in august. that's when seven of the country's largest banks were hit. names, addresses, phone numbers and e-mail addresses of j-p morgan chase customers were accessed. it could be worse....luckily the bank says they don't think account numbers, passwords or even social security numbers were stolen. strike plans are on at university of illinois hospital. nurses voted late last night to authorize a strike after their three-year contract expires. it ends october 21. the nurses say they want higher wages and more notice on schedule changes. they also say they're concerned the hospital will cut the number of experienced nurses caring for patients.

and students in waukegan will spend another day home from school today. their teachers walked off the job yesterday and onto picket lines. 17-thousand students are locked out of classes. the teachers are striking for a pay raise, better health benefits and working conditions. president obama is back at the white house after a fundraising trip to chicago.. he did get a chance to sleep in his kenwood home. the president joined wealthy democratic party donors to raise money for governor pat quinn's campaign. then...the president pitched a higher minimum wage to students and faculty at northwestern university. >> let's agree that nobody who works full time in america should ever have to raise a family in poverty. let's give america a race to make the economy stronger. >>the president's talking points were viewed as a strategy for democratic candidates, in an election year where polling suggests that the voters trust *republicans to do a better job handling the economy. the n-f-l draft is coming to chicago. the draft has been held in new

day. i do see cancellations on the board and the delays and cancellations will likely spill over into another weekend. the faa administrator coming to visit the facility and one week after a fire knocked out the center. he's going to see the damage for himself. 850 flights were canceled thursday to to the combination of bad weather and the faa facility still out of commission. southwest has canceled all their flights for the day. so far this morning nearly 170 cancellations at o'hare. a government contractor accused of setting a fire in the basement of the aurora air traffic control center a week ago and attempted to kill himself, upset about a transfer to hawaii. that caused a week of travel headache's nationwide. members of the congressional delegation are demanding to know how one person could cripple the system, why is there no backup?

the past nine years. president obama is back at the white house, after a campaign trip to chicago. the president called upon wealthy democratic party donors to contribute to governor quinn's warchest. and at northwestern university, he appealed for an higher minimum wage -- something illinois democrats are pushing in this campaign season. victims of police torture under former commander jon burge are asking for damages. they're pushing a proposed ordinance that pays 20-million dollars for burge's victims and provides educational opportunities. burge was convicted of lying about the torture. he's now in a halfway house in florida after he was released from prison yesterday. a woman says her twitter tweeted confidential knowledgee about the grand jury in the michael brown case. a grand jury is investigating whether ferguson police officer

darren wilson committed a crime when he shot and killed brown in august. this week a twitter post said a juror told her that there's not enough evidence to warrant criminal charges. the post came from an account that belongs to a woman in missouri. she says she hasn't used the account in months and that it has been hacked before. she also says she doesn't know anyone on the grand jury. it looks like there won't be any new charter schools next year. for the first time in years, chicago public schools won't be recommending any new charter school openings for the coming year. the district is pushing back accepting proposals until december. any new school wouldn't be ready to open before 20-16. that may eliminate a fight over charter schools as the mayoral campaign ramps up. teachers union president karen lewis is pondering a run against mayor rahm emanuel. she's been his loudest critic over school closures. colonel george continues to make public appearances despite his ongoing health problems. delivering a keynote address
