says he is sorry for looking the other way. he worked for the cowboys, the giants, the buccaneers before coming to the bears. he has not worked since he was released in 2011. he says when he saw the powerful pictures from that video of the player punching and knocking out his wife, he felt remorse after so many nfl related domestic abuse cases were swept under the rug. he says, we knew it was wrong for whatever reason, it just got glossed over. i'm knows psychiatrist so i really can't get into what that is, just telling you how i was, i looked at myself first and was part of that but i did not stand alone. the bears released a statement by distancing the team saying it is surprised by the comments and they do not know what he is referring to. jerry angelo is

"serious illness". he says he was asked not to say more than that. sharkey is taking over her union duties, for now. many are still wondering what this means for her potential mayoral run. we don't make citizens for her. decisions. >> her campaign was just getting momentum. the exploratory committee process was working for her. this is clearly a setback. >>lewis wasn't expected to announce her candidacy before the mayoral election is ini february. some major airports are getting ready to perform new health screenings for ebola. that's for travelers arriving from liberia, guinea, and sierra leone. they'll answer some questions and have their temperatures taken. new york's kennedy airport will four other airports, including o'hare, start next week. >> you don't catch everyone.

just those who are ill. some could even still get through the gate. >>one man picked a bad place for making a joke about ebola. four people in hazmat suits took him off a u-s airways flight after it landed in the dominican republic. the airline says that he had said he had been to africa and had ebola. the man shouted it was a joke as he was taken off the plane. it turns out that a sergeant in dallas doesn't have ebola after all. michael monnig got sick days after he responded to the apartment where ebola patient monnig is back home after he he went to the hospital on wednesday, which was the same day that duncan died. taking a look at the *other top stories this morning. authorities are issuing a community alert on the far south side.. after two men tried to lure multiple children into their vehicles. the incidents happened between october fourth and october sixth in the morgan park neighborhoods.

authorities say the men were driving a white work van... and a maroon four door vehicle. no one is in custody. there's a bond hearing this afternoon for this man, lorenzo jones, after police say fired a high-powered rifle at a c-t-a train. it happened late yesterday morning on the la salle street blue line subway platform. police caught him a short time later. investigators say jones fired five times... but he was carrying 60 rounds of ammunition. no one was hit. jones faces several felony counts. he already has a long criminal record. chicago police now say, a total of 40 shots were fired in an englewood shootout between daniel brown is charged witht. murder, because tuesday's shootout resulted in the death of a friend. it's not clear who fired the fatal shot. police captain ed kulbida, who was shot in the jaw, is recovering at home. a second officer was wounded in the leg. a bolingbrook teenager's detention hearing has been

prosecutors say muhammed khan plotted to travel to iraq or syria to join "isis." he was arrested at o'hare. when prosecutors asked that the hearing be closed to the media and the public, khan's attorney objected, and said iou be open to all. governor quinn and challenger bruce rauner squared off in their first debate. the debate was held last night in peoria. quinn says rauner's ideas would benefit the upper class at the expense of everyone else. rauner says quinn is part of the democratic machine that's d to bad government in illinois. rauner also said his business experience would help him turn the state around. >> business leaders and ceos can get it done. it's that executive leadership. i have worked in and around government for pension reform and education reform and good government in many regards. >> my opponent talks about successful results being involved in 12 different bankruptcies involving other companies. there have been six of his executives indicted and

convicted and sent to jail. >>quinn and rauner will have two more televised debates before next month's election. the next one is tuesday. the last one is on october 20- th. a tentative deal has been reach to avert a teachers strike at hinsdale central and hinsdale south high schools. district 86 teachers were set to hit the picket line on tuesda their union and the district were at odds over salary, but, they reached a newnsions. contract agreement last night. it still needs to be approved by teachers union members and the school board. the district covers hinsdale, oak brook, darien, clarendon hills and burr ridge. winnetka police are investigating "inappropriate photos" allegedly n and exchanged during school hours... by students at new high school. officials say in some cases, students didn't know photos of them were even taken. they also say students are made aware of the consequences of using any form of electronic communication in "potentially harmful ways." a couple in colorado is really wishing they didn't leave their

hundreds of domestic violence incidents that the n-f-l ignored. patrick elwood is live at tribune tower with more.. patrick? >> certainly turning heads but as you mentioned, coming off that high profile case of the ribbons running back, the former bears gm is turning heads this morning. he says hundreds and hundreds of cases of domestic abuse during his years in the league. that spans 30 years for the former gm. he says he is sorry for looking the other way, and he worked for the cowboys and the giants and the buccaneers before joining the bears. she says when he saw the video of him punching and then knocking out his and then the fiancee, now his wife, he felt remorse that so many nfl related domestic abuse cases

satyarthi have won the nobel peace prize. at 17, malala is the youngest recipient of the prize. the teenager was shot in the head by taliban gunmen in october 20-12 for campaigning for girls' education. the nobel committee said the pair were awarded the prize "for their struggle against the suppression of children and young people". a protest over a deadly police shooting almost turned ugly in saint louis. the protest was over the deadly police say the suspect firedan three shots at the officer, before the officer returned fire and killed him. but protesters are drawing comparisons to the deadly police shooting of 18 year old michael brown in nearby ferguson. police say they were trying to get the crowd to disperse, when someone threw a knife. the knife hit an officer on the shoulder, but it wasn't the blade. no one was hurt. stocks took a big hit again on

thursday the dow plunged 335 points, it's worst day of the year. nasdaq fell 90. s-and-p dropped 40 points. dairy queen is the latest target in a data breach. the minnesota-based company says hackers got a hold of customer credit card information -- including names, credit and debit card numbers and expiration dates. there is no evidence social security or pin numbers were accessed. it affected 395 locations around the country between august and october. fewer than 600-thousand cards were affected. the same "back-off" malware has recently been used to attack more than 1-thousand other business. here are a few stories that are former "saturday night live" . hooks spent five years mindied us laugh on that show during
