a car is engulfed in flames after a minor accident on the edens expressway. it happened about nine o'clock last night near elston.. o the chicago firefighters got creative to put out the flames -- dousing water oe r from above, on cicero avenue. amazingly, the driver escaped unharmed. still no sign of him this morning. police are lookin for a man who robbed a southwest suburban bank and fired shots while doing it. the holdup happened just after two o'clock monday after at the first midwest bank b in orland park. security cameras show the suspect wearing a black and white flannel hoodiend holding not clear how much cash he took...but he did fire his he took off on foot.it orland park police, cook county sheriffs and the f-b-i all working on this one. a group of burglars stole computers from an elementary school in englewood. that happened at nicholson stem academy, at 60-th and peoria, witnesses reported seeingr several people leaving the school. police say they got away with more than 100-thousand dollars worth of items, including pads and laptops. no arrests have been made.

there may be new hope for an end to the waukegan teacher ri negotiators for the teachers union and school administrators are expected back to the bargaining table at 9:30 this morning. this comes after a marathon 14 hour bargaining session sunday night broke off without a new deal. school officials say they are committed to compromise while protecting the district's financial health. teachers walked off the job on october 2nd in a dispute over pay. first full day of operations at the f-a-a air traffic control center in aurora...and so so good. the f-a-a says it's operat at 100 percent. a fire allegedly set by a distraught contract worker on september 26th knocked the regional center out, sending ripple effects across the brian howard is charged with felony destruction of aircraft facilities. a 30-day review of contingency plans and security measure by the f-a-a is ongoing. the streets of the loop came
