heading our way for the weekend. closing arguments today in the murder trial of two men accused of killing an off-duty chicago police officer in 20-10. thomas wortham also was an iraq war veteran who had just returned from a second tour of dut wgn's crews isat the criminal courts building with today's developments >> investigators say there were four men involved in this box,botched armed robbery. they were picked out of a photo array by the victim's father just hours after the 2010 shooting in chicago's chatham neighborhood. prosecutors telling jurors that thomas looked into the faces of his son's killers and he will never forget those faces. a moment of drama and the court room jammed packed with the worthams. she >> thousands of police officers.

charged with murder and attempted armed robbery. accused of driving the getaway car and a botched attempt to steal the motorcycle of the officer in may of 2010. two alleged accomplices opened fire in the robbery attempt at 85th and came dressed. a gun battle erupted and with the office are pulling out his service weapon. even his father a retired police officer opening fire from his home when he saw that his son was in trouble. ryan floyd was shot and killed in the crossfire. marcus suffering serious gun fire wounds. as for the men in the getaway car prosecutors arguing that taylor and mckyer are equally culpable. this is a highly unusual situation. there are two juries in the courtroom.

each of the defendants with their own injuries. closing arguments taking a little longer than usual. each jury will decide the respective fate of the two defendants on trial. >>a man accused of shooting an off-duty chicago police officer and her daughter is scheduled to appear in court today for a bond hearing. 28-year-old anthony gates of south suburban riverdale is charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder and two counts of aggravated battery. gates the daughter's former boyfriend is accused of shooting and wounding the two women late tuesday night.. during an argument in the 22 -hundred block of east 68th street. police say gates drove off with the couple's two-year- old son. gates was arrested later.. and the boy was found unharmed. jurors have found a lake county man guilty of murder in the shooting death of an 18-year-old mother in north chicago. jim mcpherson killed janay mcfarlane in

february 20-13. the same day mcfarlane's sister was atten n violence speech iag by president barack obama. police say mcpherson was aiming at a rival gang member walking with mcfarlane when he shot her. defense lawyers argued there was no physical evidence thtiing mcpherso to mcpherson faces 45 years to life in prison when he's sentenced. a former skokie police officer was sentenced to probation for injuring a woman he shoved into a jail michael ha pleaded guilty t offdu he's on probation for two years and will lose his pension. police video showed him shoving a woman into a concrete bench, while booking her in march of last year. the woman's eye socket was broken and teeth were loosened. hart's apology admitted he was acting out of frustration. the woman still has a federal lawsuit against him and the village of skokie. >>illinois drivers will be happy to know. things are back to normal at d- m-v facilities across the state. a computer outage yesterday led to long lines and frustrated customers.. including many who simply gave up and left. but today, the

system is up and running.. and customers we talked to say everything seems to be going smoothly. being told to copy all paperwork for applications that use foreign passports. instead of issuing identification and licenses on the spot. if an employee is suspicious of an application that must contact the secretary of state's fraud unit. >> it's been over a week since the election, but governor quinn has finally called bruce rauner. quinn called yesterday, and they talked about the affordable care act and the transition process. rauner then thanked quinn for his work. mayor emanuel is urging governor elect bruce rauner to keep the state income tax hike and to raise the minimum wage. governor quinn wants to raise the minimum wage before he leaves office, but he may not have the votes. rauner says he supports raising the minimum wage, as long as that comes

>> a company called local homicide in the death of a dozen women who had sterilization operations. the surgeon operated on 83 women in a span of six hours last weekend. the stories have halted all sterilization procedures and that district. six types of drugs including certain types of pain killers have been banned. the surge in claims the women died due to those medications rather than the operations. under the government run a campaign to curb population of women are paid to have sterilization and doctors are given incentives. >>for more than two hours. they clinged to a scaffold outside the country's tallest skyscraper. today two new york city window washers are recovering from the ordeal the two men were cleaning windows outside the 69th floor of one world trade center yesterday when a cable slipped. their scaffolding was tilted at an almost vertical angle. firefighters decided to work from the inside out, instead of trying to

bring them up or lower them down. they had to cut through three layers of glass, to reach the men. very slow and calculated. we were worrying about the pressure being offset and they're becoming an additional problem. >> they were shaken obviously. it is a harrowing experience. anyone would be frightened. there were not injured. ask them both if they were ok. they said no your fund. a little shaky. >> the men suffered mild hypothermia. "one world trade center" just opened for business last week. >> makers are expressing frustration. congress passed legislation to overhaul the va. president obama signed into law in august. during a congressional hearing one lawmaker demanded to know why only one senior va employee had been fired. officials say

points. for the 10th time, honda is recalling vehicles because of an airbag problem. the automaker is pulling 170-thousand more vehicles from showroom floors because the airbags may explode when deployed. five models are affected, but none of which were sold in the u-s. honda is also investigating if a faulty airbag killed a driver in malaysia. the recalls have impacted a total of more than six million vehicles worldwide. if you're looking for the best holiday gift deals.. some experts say you may just want to skip the crowds and traffic on black friday this year. some retailers are already out with black friday-type deals for the early birds. and the majority of sales on thanksgiving, black friday and the rest of the weekend are available online at the same prices. wal-mart has told managers at its approximately five thousand u-s stores, they can match prices with amazon and other online retailers. a practice already in place in many wal- mart stores.
