>> she became the 50th mayor of the city of chicago. the first woman mayor. to this day the mayor of the largest city in the united states as a woman. monsignor kenneth velo remembers the political legacy of former mayor jayne byrne during her funeral service being held at this hour. good afternoon. i'm steve sanders. and i'm dina bair. we welcome our aroe b. wgna the our top story.. remembering former chicago mayor jane byrne. here is a live look inside the church. byrne's family members will be part of the service with her nieces and nephews acting as pallbearers and readers.

jane byrne died friday morning at the age of 81. os care been living after suffering a stroke last year. byrne will be remembered as the first and only maor of sh buried at calvary cemetery in evanston. >> live with more on today's service. >> i remember it as you do. when she is commissioner before she even considered running for mayor. she was a colorful figure even then. she was an unlikely political figure to be thought of as mayor. she was tiny and stature. >> she had many enemies that she made around the city. she also had more friends. many of them have come here to a packed church. >> family members giving up your remembrance this morning. >> politicians

another ebola patient treated in the u-s has died. doctor martin salia was pronounced dead this morning at the university of nebraska medical cent salia was a u-s resident but was infected in his native sierra leone. he was taken to nebraska on saturday when he was too weak to walk off a plane. salia is the second ebola patient to die in the u-s. two others treated at the omaha hospital have survived. president obama calls the beheading
