doctors may be able to use brain scans lo toagnose aut ac. researchers at carnegie-mellon university performed functional mri scans on 17 young adults with high- functioning autism and 17 people without autism. they analyzed brain patterns that formed while the subjects thought about different social interactions.. like "hug, humiliate, kick and adore. the researchers say they could identify whether a brain was autistic or not in 97 percent of the participants. just by looking at a certain mri activation pattern. many people who are depressed are suffering in silence. not getting any help, according to new statistics released by the centers for disease control. nearly one in twelve people struggle with depression. when the study was taken from 2009 to 2012 nearly 8 percent of americans older than 12 said they were recently depressed. but only a little more than one-third of those suffering with severe depression sought help from a professional. those living below the poverty level were more than twice as likely to be depres lunchbreak is next.
