4:01 am
give you the one thing those with complex or advanced-stage cancers need more than anything else -- hope. hope that there could be a different way, a better way that could make them believe in tomorrows again. and though our heroes begin their journeys in different parts of the country, they will all pass through the doors of cancer treatment centers of america -- a place that never gives up, a place where they do things differently, where clinical expertise state-of-the-art technology, and integrative treatment options provide patients with treatment plans they, themselves, have a say in. taking command of their own treatment -- that's what fighters do, and if there's anyone who knows about fighting cancer, it's rod echols -- a young man married to the love of his life, a dad dedicated to raising his children... >> daddy! yes! >> announcer: ...a person who has just too much living left to do.

4:03 am
serious look on his face [sighs] with some pictures and said that he found something that he's pretty sure that it's cancer. >> the first you think about is your wife and your kids and your family. you think about what would life be like for them without you. >> announcer: with his family in mind, rod had surgery immediately to remove the cancer. after the surgery, they discovered the cancer had spread to his lymph nodes. he was told he needed a second surgery that he felt was too invasive. >> and it came back after my follow-up that i needed a second surgery. and that's when i said i need a second opinion. >> announcer: rod got that second opinion at cancer treatment centers of america, a hospital that focuses on treating complex and advanced-stage cancers. >> walking into cancer treatment centers of america, we both felt like, "we're here. we're in the right place. it's really gonna be okay now." >> announcer: rod and keisha met with his entire care team, that included dr. christian hyde, a radiation oncologist. >> rod came in with a pretty advanced cancer, and it had
4:04 am
spread into some lymph nodes in the area. and i remember thinking, "he's just like me." almost the same life circumstances as far as having kids and raising a family. he just happens to have cancer. >> announcer: rod's care team reviewed his case and presented him with some options. >> we combined chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery in order to shrink the tumor so that the surgeon could take it out in one complete piece. >> announcer: this approach allowed the surgery to be minimally invasive and gave rod a choice he was comfortable with. >> i feel like this was the right way for me, the right treatment for me, the right process for me to go through. >> announcer: in addition to chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery, rod's treatment plan included naturopathic medicine and nutrition to help him stay healthy during treatment and keep up with his family's busy schedule. >> nutrition plays a very big role in cancer treatment. things that i will do is help to guide them through the types of food to eat for a balanced diet and also strategies to help if
4:05 am
he's having some type of side effect that may be compromising his nutritional status. rod's treatment has actually been great. he hasn't had that many side effects. >> i was able to go through chemo and radiation at the same time and go to work on the same day. it was active, and it was also you know, a way for me to feel normal. >> rod continued to work full time during his treatment. i don't know how, 'cause some days, you know, were rough days, but he just was a trouper. i really respect the guy, 'cause he didn't complain and he didn't slack and he didn't skip. he just said, "we got to do this, and i'm gonna do it." and he did it. >> announcer: after his second surgery and follow-up chemotherapy, rod and keisha sat down with dr. george daneker his surgical oncologist, to find out the results. >> this is your pre-operative scan, so you can see where we connected things back together right there. this looks good. this was connected.
4:06 am
none of this contrast leaked out. i mean, the reality is that you're so healthy it'll heal beautifully, so that's the advantage. we were able to really do a very complete and precise operation and it's really extremely satisfying for all of us that rod has done well and he continues to do well. my hope is that rod will be able to live a normal life, that the effects of his treatment will be minimum, that he will be able to enjoy his wife and his family just like anybody can. >> announcer: with his scans looking good, rod will continue with his treatment plan. back at home, he's enjoying spending time with his wife and children. >> the kids and the family motivated me -- not letting them see me down, just being positive and taking control of the situation and not letting it have control over me. >> ride 'em, cowboy! [ laughs ] >> i may be tired, exhausted but as soon as i wake up in the morning, it's like, "make it a
4:07 am
great day." >> [ smooches ] rod's diagnosis changed my perspective in that you have to enjoy those little things. don't sweat the small stuff. the experience has definitely made us stronger as a couple. to see him, oh, go through this with the strength that he has has been wonderful for me to see. >> cancer treatment center of america had everything under one roof. it's perfect. i know that everyone there has my best interests at heart. it makes you feel like you're a part of the family. i think this whole process of going through cancer has given me a different outlook and a different take on life. it's a new normal for me right now, but i know there's a light at the end of the tunnel. >> announcer: when you're fighting cancer, every day counts, every decision counts, and the choice of who helps you in that fight can be the most important decision of all. >> my whole world just, like stopped -- shut down.

4:14 am
treatments of the less-toxic chemo." and i was very happy with that. and i said, "are you confident about that?" she goes, "yes. very confident." >> most of the time, the treatment options are doing surgery followed by either chemotherapy and radiation together versus the spreading of treatment. so, what we decided was chemotherapy first and then radiation therapy. >> we gave her five weeks of external radiation and also something called brachytherapy. brachytherapy is actually internal radiation, and it allows us to give more radiation without causing damage to the surrounding structures. >> announcer: although most patients are exhausted from their treatment, melanie wanted to stay active. >> she's doing an extraordinary amount of activity, so she really needed a lot of support nutritionally, both to keep those activities up, which she did all throughout her treatment, and also to keep her body in shape for the treatment. >> announcer: melanie was able to continue her athletic training throughout her
4:15 am
treatment, which kept her in shape for future competitions. >> three or four months after i got home from radiation, i competed in my first triathlon. i got third place. by july, i had my fastest time ever. i got first place, and so... cancer treatment centers of america and the people who treated me -- they helped me be able to do that type of performance. >> all right. thanks, my dear. >> announcer: it's been six months, and melanie is back for a checkup. >> this woman got bike maps for me so that i could bike when i was doing radiation. and she went out of her way to go get them. >> announcer: after her scans, melanie hears the results from her oncologist, dr. shrestha. >> the c.a.t. scan of the chest is normal. there's no disease. nothing new. c.a.t. scan of the abdomen and pelvis -- everything looks fine. no evidence of disease at this time. >> fantastic. >> okay? nothing new. >> yay! >> it's nice to be cancer-free one more time, so it's like peace of mind for six more months. iggy, pick a number between 200 and 220. >> 210. >> announcer: back in portland
4:16 am

he could as they entered retirement. he never imagined that he would be the one needing help. >> i am an only child and, you know, when i moved out here, i wanted to be there for them -- my dad and my mother. >> he's been a joy. he's been an absolute joy all his life. he's been a blessing to us in every way. >> he grew up to be just a good man. >> announcer: the sanders were enjoying having their son back in town. but then, in november of 2012, terry began to suffer from extreme fatigue. >> i started noticing my heart was pounding and i would walk 100 feet and have to stop and literally put my hands on my knees and, you know, sit there and breathe. and i realized something had gone wrong. so i was in trouble somewhere. >> he had told me, "mom, i feel like i'm having a hard time breathing." i said, "this is not right. you need to go to the doctor." >> announcer: after numerous medical tests and doctors appointments, finally, in october of 2013,
4:21 am
a chest scan revealed a mass growing between terry's heart and lungs. his local doctor scheduled a biopsy. a couple of days later, he got the results. >> it's my dad's birthday and i got a call from the hospital and it said, "hey, terry. just want to let you know we got your results back in. you do have diffuse large b-cell lymphoma." first thought that come to my mind was, you know, how is my family gonna deal with this? >> it was a shock. i tell everybody, it's like a sledgehammer hitting you in the stomach. >> you know, you're trying to assure your child that it's gonna be okay. but you don't know, yourself. >> announcer: terry was facing a devastating lymphoma diagnosis and turned to his parents for help. the sanders immediately began researching cancer treatment options. >> and i said, "lord just lead us. show me where we need to go. and i started searching and cancer treatment center just
4:22 am
kept popping up. and i said, "this is where we need to take him." >> announcer: after a year of traveling around to different doctors, the sanders decided that having all treatment under one roof was exactly what they were looking for. cancer treatment centers of america in tulsa arranged for terry and his parents to be there within a week. >> when i got there, i was shocked because on my appointment time everybody was in the same room waiting on me. that was a turning point. you're part of the team. you may be the patient, but you're just as integral as the next person standing there next to them. >> announcer: terry met with his team of doctors, including his oncologist dr. ritwick panicker. >> terry sanders is a young man in his 30s who was diagnosed with primary mediastinal b-cell lymphoma. it's a disease in which the lymph nodes in front of our heart enlarge and become malignant. fortunately for terry, we do
4:23 am
have a lot of weapons against this type of cancer. >> announcer: terry's plan included chemotherapy and radiation. however, if he doesn't respond to these conventional treatments, dr. panicker says that terry could be a candidate for a stem-cell transplant. >> we collect the patient's stem cells. then we give the patient high doses of chemotherapy, which eradicates the blood malignancy and all the existing stem cells. after this therapy, the stem cells from the patient that were previously collected are infused back. the idea is that the normal or good cells will return, whereas the malignancy will not return. >> you ready? >> come on with it. >> when i get off work, i get my treatment. and by monday i was back at work and i was feeling good about things again. >> love you. >> announcer: terry has been
4:24 am
going through chemotherapy treatments every couple of weeks for three months. >> last chemo. >> last chemo. >> announcer: now he's back at cancer treatment centers of america and sits down with dr. payne, his radiation oncologist to view the results of his latest scans. >> okay, so, this tells the whole story. this is november and this is a couple weeks ago -- january 31st. >> that's a good sign. >> so, it's gone. he's done well. looking at his pet scan, the one that he had before therapy showed a large tumor right in the middle of his chest. the one he had after the four or five cycles of chemotherapy, that was gone. things have to be a certain size to show up on the pet scan, so there still may be some active cells there. so, radiation is mainly used as a type of insurance to make sure we are able to kill cells that we don't see. >> announcer: terry will continue his treatment plan, but for now his scans are clear. >> it's great. it's great news. i don't really know how to put it in words.
4:25 am
>> announcer: back at home the sanders are enjoying the outdoors, going to church, and just spending time with family and friends. >> i am going to get better. i'm gonna grow my hair back out. [ laughs ] my family and i are gonna try to take as many trips as possible. i'm gonna go see some friends that i haven't seen since college. i learned that you take every single day and you live the best way you possibly can. >> announcer: the fight against cancer, no matter how strong you are, isn't one you can take on alone. >> a long time ago, i was the strongest woman in the world. i set over 60 world and american records. i feel that i've done everything that i could to be as healthy as possible. and something still went wrong. i had cancer. it was a tough blow. i just went right into action mode, and once i understood what
4:26 am
cancer treatment centers of america was all about, i knew it was the right fit for me. >> announcer: at cancer treatment centers of america, we develop an integrated treatment plan that's right for you. a dedicated team of oncologists, surgeons, and other specialists deliver advanced cancer treatment, including tomotherapy, cyberknife, and intraoperative radiation therapy. >> at cancer treatment centers of america, we're using intraoperative radiation therapy, or iort, which is radiation treatments which are administered in the operating room at the time of the lumpectomy. we're able to administer this treatment in a matter of two to three minutes as opposed to weeks of conventional, daily external beam radiation. >> announcer: we not only have state-of-the-art technologies but also offer integrative treatment options to help relieve symptoms related to treatment. acupuncture helps reduce anxiety and stress, naturopathic medicine helps decrease side effects, spiritual support helps promote a positive outlook nutrition helps boost the immune
4:27 am
system, and mind/body therapy combines stress management counseling, and relaxation therapies to enhance overall well-being. >> they cultivated an atmosphere where the people that work there love what they do, and they just treat patients like they were the most important patient there. in my mind, that's the way all healthcare should be. >> announcer: if you or someone you love has complex or advanced-stage cancer, call cancer treatment centers of america or go to cancercenter.com now. with five regional locations across the united states -- philadelphia in the northeast, suburban atlanta in the southeast, suburban chicago in the midwest, tulsa in the southwest, and suburban phoenix in the west -- cancer treatment centers of america treats people from all over the country. call or go online to learn about our sophisticated technologies hear about our treatment results and our experienced physicians and clinicians who have dedicated their lives to fighting cancer. you'll also learn why over 95% of our patients are satisfied

4:31 am
tested a product called omega xl. now, we've all heard about the benefits of a daily dose of fish oil, but they tell me that omega xl takes a giant leap forward towards maintaining good health. now, we're also gonna speak to dr. sharon mcquillan, a board-certified in family practice, specializing in anti-aging and preventative medicines. when we return, the doctor and ken will explain how omega xl can help you. >> announcer: if you've been living in pain and you're tired of trying products that just don't work, you are not alone. today, 1.5 billion people worldwide are living in chronic pain. don't let pain deny you the life you deserve. join hundreds of thousands of omega xl users that have chosen to fight inflammation and get rid of pain. now they're living life to the fullest, thanks to omega xl -- the all-natural anti-inflammatory that has more available omega-3s than regular fish oil. >> someone introduced me to
4:32 am
omega xl, and i have almost forgotten about the pain. it's that incredible. >> omega xl is far greater than just about any fish oil that i've ever taken, and i've been taking fish oil for many years. >> i'm so thankful that i have omega xl in my life, and i wouldn't go one day without it. >> pain really changes who you are. it got to the point where i even thought about, "am i gonna be able to do another season?" now i say as many seasons as they want to have me, because i'm ready for it. this is a product that helps you live a healthy life, and that's something that i want to share with as many people as possible. take your omega xl. >> announcer: all these stories are from people that have experienced the benefits of omega xl. 25 years of clinical studies have proven that omega xl has far better benefits than ordinary fish oils. this is due to omega xl's source, the green-lipped mussel. this mussel is farmed in the purest waters in the world the marlborough sound in new zealand. once harvested, it goes through
4:33 am
a patented super-critical co2-extraction process. this unique process allows omega xl to have 22 times the fatty-acid availability and makes it more powerful than regular fish oils. therefore, omega xl is more effective at reducing inflammation, the cause of pain. you don't need to suffer anymore. omega xl will help you get rid of pain and live the life you deserve. >> ken, will start with you. what is omega xl? >> omega xl is a one-of-a-kind omega-3. there's nothing like it. we believe it's the most powerful omega-3 on the face of the planet, which offers tremendous anti-inflammatory benefits. >> dr. mcquillan, why should i take it? >> it is the most potent natural anti-inflammatory that exists. it actually is very effective in treating the pain and the symptoms of inflammation, so pain, swelling like arthritic joints, back pain, swollen
4:34 am
joints, things that cause disability. omega xl is, in my medical opinion, the best anti-inflammatory product for your health. >> are you saying that this is better than fish oil? >> much better than fish oil. no question about it. i'll tell you why. fish oil -- you have no idea where the fish came from, and when you're swallowing something, you should care what you're putting in your body. a great deal of the fish oil comes from some of the dirtiest waters in the world -- from around the world -- and when they bring these fish in, they don't take the fillet and give that to the fish-oil products. the fillet, many times, goes to different restaurants and other types of foods. they take what's remaining of the fish -- probably 49% to 50% are the head, the bones, the tail -- grind it all up, and that's what goes in the majority of fish oil on the shelf today. who wants to swallow that? here, with omega xl, you're taking a green-lipped mussel that's grown on vines, suspended in the purest waters in the world, never touched the ocean floor. no heavy metals -- you don't have the lead, the zinc, the
4:35 am
mercury, and all the heavy metals that are found in fish oil. and when they bake fish oil and try to make it -- to get rid of all those heavy metals, they bake most of the benefits of the omega-3 out of it, where omega xl is pure, powerful potent, one-of-a-kind, easy to swallow. >> as a stem-cell scientist, i think it's important to do research on anything that you would place into your body. i think it's important to only use natural-type supplements. having said that, i do not use any other supplement other than omega xl. >> you want to get rid of that pain? omega xl. i mean, i guarantee it. you come find me, look me up if i'm not telling you the truth. >> announcer: if you're living in pain, listen up. every day, people suffer from symptoms including back, neck, knee, and joint pain. studies have proven that inflammation is the culprit, but now you can fight it with omega xl.
4:36 am
as part of the show, we are extending a special offer. call in the next 20 minutes and we'll double your order. don't miss the opportunity to regain control of your life. there's no financial risk. omega xl offers a 90-day money-back guarantee. you have nothing to lose. time's running out. call now. >> they're gone. i don't have to worry about those aches and pains, you know, since i've been taking the omega xl. >> omega xl, thank you very much for changing my life, and i will be a loyal customer for life. >> omega xl's definitely worked for me. >> when i took the omega xl, the only thing that i can say is it made me feel great. >> announcer: due to its unique extraction process, omega xl gives us something called free fatty acids, which our body can utilize instantly, whereas regular fish oil comes in the triglyceride form that is bound and our body cannot utilize it readily. this is the reason why fish-oil pills have to be so big. omega xl is a small, safe,
4:37 am
easy-to-swallow gel capsule that can go directly into your system and will effectively reduce your inflammation. >> fish oils generally, though have an aftertaste. and they also cause burping, 'cause i used to have a problem with that, and i don't anymore. >> sure. >> does your product have these side effects? >> no, it really doesn't. i'll tell you why. we've brought some fish-oil capsules. these are the standard fish-oil capsules with their 1,000 milligram. >> anybody who takes fish-oil product knows this product. >> exactly. or you can take this small omega xl capsule, which one of these is equivalent to 10 of these. let me pour 10 in your hand, larry. you'd have to take all 10 of these to get the benefits of one small omega xl capsule. so, women and children and men -- nobody wants to swallow 10 minivans, if you will. you can have one. >> well, how can you get all this in this? >> well, i think the doctor can answer that -- why it's such a unique formulation. >> the difference in the quality
4:38 am
of the oil is the extraction process gives us something called a free fatty acid, which is the type of fatty acid that your body can utilize. whereas in this fish-oil capsule, the reason it has to be so big is that this is the triglyceride form, which means that it's bound and your body can't utilize it readily. when you take this, this is just fatty acids that can go directly into your system, and they can be effective for reducing your inflammation. >> well, there's something very important, also. in today's world, with a doctor here, the average person over 55 today is on five different prescription medications. omega xl has no drug-drug interaction, which is so important. the improper use of prescription medication is probably the sixth cause of death today. so, you have people that have difficulty sleeping at night -- aches and pains cause loss of sleep -- and they worry about the medicine they're taking.
4:39 am
omega xl releases that fear of "is it going to interact with my other drugs," and it reduces the inflammatory pain that you may have in your back, your legs and so on, to give you a good night's sleep. >> i've got to say, i've done very few testimonials in my life -- you can count them on one hand -- and this is a terrific product. it's wonderful being associated with you. >> i have been practicing medicine for over 20 years, and i have never endorsed a product, either. >> really? >> and i just feel that this product is so valuable and so important that it's a privilege to be associated with it. >> in fact, i'm gonna take two now. >> well, i will add this, and this is one thing. 80% of our customers are women that call in to buy our product. the women are the gatekeepers of the family's health. >> mm-hmm. >> grandmothers are able to now bend over and pick up their grandchild when the grandchild's running towards them instead of saying, "no, no, no. grandma's back hurts." so, you have this aging society, this active society
4:40 am
this active lifestyle, and everyone wants to move and breathe naturally. they want to be able to get up. they want to be able to walk. they want to be able to enjoy themselves. it is a life-changing product that is just truly one of a kind. >> and, by the way, they're so small that i just swallowed them without water. >> you have hundreds of people hundreds of family and, we call them employees, but associates at great healthworks today so proud that you're here to help us with our message. >> there's the number. >> there's two different benefits that i've noticed by taking omega xl, one being the increased benefit of not having to worry about stiffness or joint problems. the other benefit has been the difference i've seen in my skin. >> i'm amazed at how many people that i talk to suffer from some sort of back discomfort, usually in the lower back, and i have recommended omega xl numerous occasions and will continue to do so, and i'll be on it for life. >> the omega xl capsule is so small that it's just -- it's so simple to swallow. you get most of these pills that
4:41 am
have -- that are huge to take, to swallow. it's very hard. but these -- the omega xl capsules are very small, very easy to take. >> you have to know the pain that you've been through in order to know how much better you feel with the omega xl. >> announcer: if you're living in pain, listen up. every day, people suffer from symptoms including back, neck, knee, and joint pain. studies have proven that inflammation is the culprit, but now you can fight it with omega xl. as part of the show, we are extending a special offer. call and we'll double your order. don't miss the opportunity to regain control of your life. there's no financial risk. omega xl offers a 90-day money-back guarantee. you have nothing to lose. time's running out. call now. >> why is it so effective, ken? >> why is it so effective? it's one of a kind. it truly is one of a kind. there's been 25 years of
4:42 am
research. it comes from a green-lipped mussel. nature has provided an oil extract that's one of a kind. it's patent protected. >> this is a nutritional supplement, and what it can do is reduce the signs and symptoms associated with inflammation. you know, inflammation is prevalent in many diseases, so it's helpful in many different conditions. >> people say, "well, how can this be so good?" well, because the biggest problem to your body is inflammatory-related conditions. doesn't matter if you're a truck driver, if you're a police officer, if you're a fireman, if you work in construction, if you work in the restaurant business, if you are a lady that stands on your feet all day -- >> almost if you move. >> if you move. >> [ chuckles ] >> because pain just ruins your day. >> you're looking at someone. >> it ruins your day. >> i have a low tolerance. >> it's hard to enjoy your life. everybody has a low tolerance, particularly when you have back pain. back pain will strike 80% of everyone in their lifetime. and it's an over-use condition -- chronic, chronic back pain. so, when you have back pain, you
4:43 am
have arthritic pain, particularly if you use your body for your work. do you know that insurance companies today, with all the crazy things that are going on in our insurance world, one of the first questions they're asking you when you fill out your form to get new insurance is, "does any part of your body hurt when you come home from work?" so, they know that we're overusing our bodies, which tends to cause more corrective action, which causes the rates to go up to keep you in great shape. so, healthcare, while it's important, the important word is self-care. if you don't do something for yourself, omega xl is the beginning of self-care. >> not available in stores. >> no. >> why? >> you know, retail is an important part of the distribution channel of life but they cannot give the quality care -- customer care that we give. at great healthworks, when a customer calls, you're calling a customer-care person at great healthworks. they're knowledgeable. but that way, we control the experience of the product.
4:44 am
>> announcer: hundreds of thousands of people around the world are enjoying better health today because of the difference omega xl has made in their lives. this natural anti-inflammatory comes from the green-lipped mussel, grown in the marlborough sound of new zealand, the cleanest waters in the world. >> the key to the way that we process things is we manage the temperature, we manage the storage chain, we know the chemistry we're looking for, and we make really sure that we're getting the right chemistry to the consumer. i cannot say that any of the people who are selling seafood mussels are gonna be concerned about the same thing. you may cook it in a way or deal with it in a way that simply destroys that bioactivity, so not only are you taking a dozen mussels, you may be getting no benefit. so, the certain way of getting the benefit is to take a capsule, and that's so convenient. it's a tiny, little capsule. it's dead easy to take, and you can be sure about what the outcome will be. so, there's no doubt at all in my mind that taking omega-3 every day is a very good way of ensuring that, for well people that they stay well, and for
4:45 am
people who aren't well, that they get better. there's so much evidence that that's the case. and if you're gonna do that, why not take the best? omega xl is the best. >> announcer: omega xl is a one-of-a-kind, powerful omega-3 oil that helps to reduce inflammation associated with joint pain, arthritis, bronchial tightness, and more. omega xl is the ultimate natural solution in great health and well-being. >> i was ready to pretty much try anything 'cause i was sore. i was real sore. i didn't want to be weighed down by pain. i didn't want to -- i didn't want to accept it that i was getting older and that pain was starting to take over. so, with omega xl -- i fully believe in omega xl. it allows me to sleep better. it allows me to be more a part of each and every day. i have clarity and focus like i haven't had before. >> i'm on my feet 10 hours a day at least. i had knee surgery like four years ago. there was a lot of inflammation
4:46 am
after the surgery. i was in so much pain, tears were coming to my eyes. that's how much pain i was in. and, well, you know, my knee is bending so much better now, and that inflammation is going away, and that is because of omega xl. >> so, inflammation's the culprit? >> it's the culprit, and then it makes the joint unstable, and then that makes it worse. and it's like a snowball rolling downhill. all of a sudden, the condition just gets worse and worse. so, if we can control inflammation -- and omega xl has been shown to be 100 times more powerful than other fish oils in controlling the inflammation -- we can control the pain and the disability and actually help maintain a healthier joint. >> it's everyday life. people that drive trucks firemen, people that stand on their feet all day, women who are hair dressers -- whatever you do, we're overusing our bodies. we're living longer, and we're wearing our joints out faster because we're more involved with sports at a later age -- golfing, lower-back inflammation, so it's part of
4:47 am
our lives that is causing these problems. >> can you tell me from your experience how omega xl has improved people's lives? >> by the hundreds of thousands. i'll start with you. when we started to talk about you doing this program, you said, "i want to send it to family and friends." >> correct. >> and how did that work out? >> worked out terrific. i used to -- when i got up in the morning to put on my socks, to bend over to put them on, i used to have -- it was really pain. i don't have it anymore. >> now, this is not a music show. this is not a sports show. this is a show about pain care so when someone watches this program, either they have pain or someone they know has pain. and here's a very powerful and frightening statistic. today, there are 60 million women between 40 and 60 who are acting as caregivers to their mothers. and the daughter, from 40 to 60, is using their body up, having more pain prematurely, at a younger age than ever before. you have 100 million people in the u.s. today over 50 years old.
4:48 am
and in a few short years, you'll have 70 million people over 65. inflammation is going to play a devastating role in our society unless you can control it. >> announcer: if you've been living in pain and you're tired of trying products that just don't work, you are not alone. today, 1.5 billion people worldwide are living in chronic pain. don't let pain deny you the life you deserve. join hundreds of thousands of omega xl users that have chosen to fight inflammation and get rid of pain. now they're living life to the fullest, thanks to omega xl -- the all-natural anti-inflammatory that has more available omega-3s than regular fish oil. >> i would not go without omega xl, because it's made a huge impact in my daily life. >> i want to tell everybody. i'm telling you about it. i'm telling you about something that's gonna change your life if you'll try it. >> announcer: if you're living in pain, listen up. every day, people suffer from symptoms including back, neck, knee, and joint pain. studies have proven that
4:49 am
inflammation is the culprit, but now you can fight it with omega xl. as part of the show, we are extending a special offer. call and we'll double your order. don't miss the opportunity to regain control of your life. there's no financial risk. omega xl offers a 90-day money-back guarantee. you have nothing to lose. time's running out. call now. >> how does it help, doctor, arthritis or chronic pain? >> it actually affects 53 different pathways that cause inflammation in your body, and in that regard, it's unique. i mean, osteoarthritis, which affects, currently 50 million americans is the wear-and-tear arthritis, and as we get older, we're gonna have more symptoms and more disability due to that condition. but it comes from a small injury in the joint or maybe a sports injury in the joint that creates inflammation. >> all right, how about people
4:50 am
who are allergic to things like shellfish, yeah. >> they're actually allergic to the protein in the shellfish. we extract all the protein, all the carbohydrate, and all of the sodium. so this is an allergy-free omega-3. there's nothing like it. >> doctor, have you had any personal experience with your patients, results that they had with the product? >> i've had consistently great results with everyone that i've tried the product with. it is just unbelievable for back pain, back-pain relief. it's very effective in reducing the symptoms associated with arthritis, and we treat a lot of arthritis in our clinic. >> your patients are happy with it. >> my patients are happy with it, and it's easy for them to take. and i can honestly say, before i knew about this product, i would recommend fish oil, but, i mean, they just couldn't take it because of the side effects -- the dyspepsia and the size of the pill. so i'm hopeful that, really, everybody would try this product, and i think that it
4:51 am
would improve the health of anyone who would take it. >> i'm 57 years old, and i've tried a lot of products. i've been in the fitness industry for over 36 years. before taking omega xl, i would have a really hard time with my elbows, and i thought that was just because of age. but after taking omega xl, it started to reduce the swelling and now i feel no pain at all. my recovery period and my stamina has increased tenfold. >> i wish that they had omega xl 30 years ago when i first got arthritis. i've been now playing golf, and i noticed great effects from being able to do that, and i'm able to exercise after 25 years of not being able to exercise. >> what i had to do was go out and buy every known bottle opener, jar opener. never, never got this particular lingonberry jam open. and today... here you are. >> announcer: all these stories are from people that have experienced the benefits of
4:52 am

4:53 am
the arteries, which actually clog the arteries and cause heart attacks and strokes. it actually helps to reduce triglyceride levels, which are an independent-risk factor which put people at risk for heart disease. so i recommend omega xl to all of my patients to help protect their hearts, preserve their heart and vascular health. >> ken, omega xl seems to be a life-changing product. >> omega xl is a one-of-a-kind omega-3. there's nothing like it. we believe it's the most powerful omega-3 on the face of the planet, which offers tremendous anti-inflammatory benefits. you have hundreds of people, hundreds of family and, we call them employees, but associates at great healthworks today so proud that you're here to help us with our message. >> oh, i'm very proud to be part of it, 'cause it is -- it's wonderful being associated with this and wonderful having you and wonderful meeting you. there's the number.
