ahead. we start at 6:00 with breaking news out of brooklyn, new york. an explosion tearing through a building killing one person. details now are slowly coming in. but we know three other people were hurt. witnesses say the explosion came without warning. 100 firefighters at the building in brooklyn. investigators suspect a natural gas explosion. part of the building collapsed following the violent blast and neighbors say the first instinct was to get away quickly. >> we heard the floor shake and

know what to do. i saw and said let's go. >> three were hurt. they are expected to survive. and the investigators don't know what caused the blast because they cannot get into the building yet. 7 news now turning to the weather, flooding fears in quincy where the high seas and rough waters are causing a bit of damage. joaquin may be headed out to sea but the high tides are causing problems in some areas. and we're live in quincy where a number of boats were damaged there. kelli? >> reporter: you can see the effects of the storm. and this is sticking up out of the water. people around here say, though, when the storms come ashore this happens too often. the weather whipping up waves and trouble in quincy. >> it is worse now that the

we have broke chains and some of the docks sank t is bad. >> every time we have it we want to rebuild. >> it is creating dangerous tides, so strong at the peak they manage to beach the boat. one is coming here to make sure it is safe. >> it is good so far. >> reporter: not everyone was worried about the weather. it is the price of doing business to live here. >> it's nothing. anyone that lives here, it is not that bad. >> reporter: not that bad for some but for these people it is, you can see the mast is tipping over. it has been battling the waves. ago. they say they don't know what they will do. they hope they can salvage the boat from the storm.

live in quincy. >> thank you for that. a lot of wind out there, a cold and gloomy day, fall is here to stay. the good news we're out of the woods when it comes to the coastal flooding but we have windy, chilly conditions. let's check the forecast with bri. >> they are between 30 and 40 miles per hour. you can see the gusts. nantucket 30 miles per hour. the high tide as 4:00. so two hours after that at this point, no coastal flood advisories in effect any longer but the wind will remain in effect on the cape and islands through 11 p.m. tonight. and it is breezy into tomorrow. the current temperatures close to the highs for today, 48 in worster -- worcester. drizzle moving through. and overnight possibly some patchy fog. 41 to 48.

tomorrow, another cool day for us but the best news the hurricane joaquin out of the bahamas and taking it away from boston. we'll look at this when we come back to the extended forecast. >> bri, thank you. the storm that is bringing serious trouble, rains soaking the carolinas now. look here. you can see in the video out people in charleston wading through the flood waters some cars are getting stuck in a community in north carolina and it forced people from their homes after some serious flooding. victims say that the water came in so quickly they didn't have much time to prepare. >> a neighborhood behind this one had 3 inches or more. they put their shoes in the tub. >> this is unusual we have not seen this. >> and the crews went door to door to rescue families, they

spent the night in a shelter set up by the red cross. and the police called out to ready for a riot when the crews got out of control at a show. the venue said the event had to be canceled. witnesses say people were out of hand, police came and used pepper spray. another show is scheduled for tonight. >> when the worcester police got on the scene, they saw 5 to 700 people right outs in front front of the doors. they thought a ryal may break out. >> and the tickets sparked chaos at 10:30 on friday night leading to people being pepper sprayed. >> people were being crazy outside of the doors. >> reporter: police say they were told the i love college event people were trying to get into the show with fake tickets

aggressive, unruly, violent. >> they said are you have to leave. >> there were fights, guy and girl fight. >> to control the up roar the officers were sent along with help from the state troopers. the show was shut down and officers ordered that people leave. when that didn't happen the pepper spray was used. >> there was a good amount of people but it was silent after the rights. >> and it was all over getting everyone out of here. people are trying to have fun. >> five people were taken away. others were treated for the effects of the spray. they were trying to turn up. and it happened tonight. >> this was not their event. it was organized by a company called new world llc, we reached out to them but have not heard back yet. >> we're live in worcester. and in worcester, cab driver attacked on west boylston

street. police say they stabbed the driver several times. >> tased him in the back of the head. the couple took cash and credit cards and ran off. the driver is in stable condition. and on 7, umass boston closed after explosive acid is found on campus. crews called to a drop off event this afternoon. officials say a guy dropped off supplies that turned out to be dangerous. they were able to remove material. this is just an accident. a woman seriously hurt after a car crashes into a home. she was riding in the chevy when the driver lost control. the driver was arrested for drunk driving. no one in the home was hurt. rockland new, a driver crashes into a pole on hingeham street and snapped it in two. and a shut down 228 for a time because of fallen wires on the

street. no word on the cause of the crash or if anyone was hurt. the latest on the massacre. it reignites the fight on drug control. he cannot pass stiffer gun laws without congress. >> this will not change until the politics changes and the behavior of elected officials changes. this is a political choice we make to allow this to happen every few months in america. >> and experts say the president is facing a battle especially because the 20122000 -- allowed more to congress. the debate on gun control has spilled out on to the campaign trail right here in massachusetts. the vermont senator and presidential hopeful bernie sanders campaigning in boston tonight. but he made a stop in springfield where he talked

hospital and another air rescued to jackson memorial a viewer shot video of yet another victim headed to a helicopter. two of the injured, firefighters. and miami-dade provided 7 news this video from inside the building shortly after the explosion. something beach goers could not have imagined. >> it was just fine, beautiful. all of a sudden it was just like a bomb. i was thinking the build something going down. >> reporter: late on friday, collins avenue was partially shut down, the building surrounded by fire engines. those inside were frankful they made it out alive. now they are trying to pinpoint where the explosion happened and why it happened. after that the developer and a company will work together to figure out what happens to the building now. inmiami-dade.
