bleeding in from the north and the west, and it's also accompanied by a very blustery wind throughout the weekend. overnight tonight, not abnormally cool, but still cool. upper 30s to the upper 40s the closer you get to boston. clouds moving in toward day break. and tomorrow, some sunshine, but also that blustery wind. temperatures already five to even ten degrees below normal and this is not how low they go. we will take a closer look at this and get to the details in the extended forecast in just a few minutes. >> now from the night team, a crash causing a mad dash. >> chaos. it was just a big, gigantic mess. >> after a driver takes a dangerous turn. >> anchor: police say as soon as that car slammed through that worcester liquor store, some people nearby started looting. the night team's john coco live in worcester. >> reporter: this liquor store got hit in more ways than one, first when a cash came crashing

right through the front door, and then again when looters >> chaos. it was just a big gigantic mess. >> a car with five people inside seen here on store surveillance of kirsch liquors on man street in worcester around 1:00 a.m. friday. >> it's a little more than a burglary. it's a toyota avalon sitting inside my store. >> reporter: despite a waterfall of shattered glass covering the car, everyone managed to get out with only one passenger slightly hurt. police say it all began as a two-car crash that sent one driver barreling into the building. >> i have seen the store many disarray when he was remodeling, but nothing like this. >> now police are looking for looting. bike. he was having a hell of a time riding the big and holding all the cigarettes he was carrying. >> reporter: kirsch was thankful the store was closed

the only serious issue, >> i've been in business for 45 i've seen a lot. i've seen more than most people have seen in a lifetime, and it's pretty much another day in the life of kirsch liquors. >> reporter: outside of this car crashing into a liquor store, police did not mention alcohol being a factor in this wreck. live in worcester, 7news night team. >> anchor: 7news now in arlington where police are on the hunt for a bank robber on the run. the night team's kimberly bookman in arlington with the latest on this. kimberly, what do we know? >> reporter: turns out the best witnesses in this case were not the ones inside this bank but rather the people who live around it. these bank surveillance pictures show a partially masked man inside winchester savings, hold handgun and demanding money. what they don't capture is what people living nearby say he did after getting the cash. >> reporter: he must have hopped the tbens or something. it's pretty crazy. home. >> reporter: arlington police

say the robber did, in fact, take off through a residential neighborhood behind the bank, shedding his disguise as he ran. >> you see that little yellow fence. >> reporter: a big piece ended up on this woman's property. >> they found a hat in our side yard. >> reporter: and detectives say one woman gardening in her yard came fa to to face with the robber. >> reporter: the suspect came so close to her, she was able to smell the odor of the dye pack. >> reporter: that woman gave a good enough description for police to come up with this scratch of the person they're looking for, but because the robber was armed and there was a manhunt with state police helicopters in a residential neighborhood, four schools in the area were told to shelter in place for an hour. a crime that put many on edge thinking twice about their safety. >> now we're battening down the hatches and really got to keep an eye on things. >> reporter: the f.b.i. is working with arlington police on this investigation. the best description they have at this point of the suspect is a black man in his early 20s about 5'9" to 5'10". reporting live from arlington,

she said today she spoke with biden and the two said they would remain friends no matter what he decide. >> sky7 over a water main break in manchester-by-the-sea today. the whole town lost water service because of that break. they've been working on it all day and tonight they say 75% of the town does have their water back. continues. they hope to have everyone back on in the morning. >> anchor: shots fired during the morning commute at the plain. two groups started fielgtding and somebody pulled out a gun. no one was hurt. police arrested a man and woman. they're still looking for other suspects. >> anchor: new details in a story you saw first on 7. an 18 year old appearing in court charged in connection with a police chase that ended in braintree last night. it came to a crashing end when an s.u.v. drove through a fence, finally coming to a stop in this front yard. three juveniles were also taken into custody. walpole police believe the s.u.v. was stolen in their town earlier this week. >> erin: also from the night team, some encouraging signs from former nba star lamar odom, who is in a las vegas hospital

fighting for his life. reports say he woke up from his coma and talked today. the night team's ryan schulteis up in our control room with the latest. >> this is a dramatic change considering how bad things were looking just 24 hours ago. earlier today he reportedly said hi to his estranged wife khole kardashian, giving everyone hope he may pull through this. there are reports lamar odom is off of life support. he woke up and spoke for the first time in three days. odom opened his eyes and was able to communicate. he reportedly gave a thumbs-up to estranged wife khole kardashian and had been by his side the entire time. this is surveillance video on tuesday he was found unconscious after what appears family and friends rushed to his side including khole kardashian doctors reportedly found multiple drugs in his system. he suffered a stroke and had brain damage and then slipped

a widespread freeze as we get into tomorrow night. and even colder temperatures for sunday night. mostly clear skies now. temperatures hold fairly steady as clouds start to trick until ahead of the next cold front. we look to the northwest. much colder air behind this front, a front, of course, is the front of our next air mass that's going to take effect, and look to the other side of this blue line here. some snow that's even falling just south of buffalo tonight. so we are expecting this cold blast to be something you really notice. blutsry winds accompany the colder air, trickling in from the north and the west. sticking around throughout the weekend. so looking ahead, again, to sunday and even monday, those temperatures drop even furthers. overnight tonight, partly cloudy toward day break clouds move inch upper 30s to 40s near the city of boston. the freeze watch is not in effect until tomorrow night, and it's pretty much all areas throughout the bay state.

i know this is not colored in blue here. you see north of west, by the growing season is already ended. we're still expecting to see temperatures near the freezing mark or even below it as we go into tomorrow night. a very cold one in store for us. so looking ahead with future cast. you can see even some purple coloring showing up here in northern new england. yes, that does mean snow in the forecast. again, staying in northern new england, but there's still the potential to see a few flakes fly, possibly a few snow flurries if you're getting up into the berkshires. higher elevations over the weekend, where does the snow go? that's where it goes. you see that blue coloring. if we do see any flakes here in the bay state, again, in the berkshires, it won't be sticking around. highs tomorrow cooler than today. much cooler than normal for this time of year. low to mid-50s. even some upper 40s. 47 for worcester. if you're curious as the what sunday is like, we're stuck in the 40s almost all across the board for highs on sunday and that blustery wind i told you

about, that will make it feel like it's in the 30s from time to time. the cold blast doesn't stay with us, though. we're back to more seasonable temperatures as we move into the middle of next week. what a rebound, right, from a high of 48 on monday, to 60 on tuesday. head of the charles, bundle up for that this weekend. but have a great time out there. just wear lots of layers, possibly a hat, as well, and again, 60 degrees. makes a comeback by tuesday. have a great night. >> it's a cockatoo running wild in brookline. the owner says the bird dino bit his finger four months ago and flew off. now dine owe was found. the owner wants to bring him back home. a patient expert has come to the rescue to save the bird before it gets cold outside. the owner has some ideas on how the lure him in. >> he likes peanut butter and jelly and cookies and waffles. dino has a pretty big appetite. >> anchor: coffee with cream and sugar.
