off an amber alert overnight. woman and her infant son were found safe right here in boston. state police say the mother ran away with her son who was seriously ill. >> it was a quick-thinking nurse who helped crack the case. we are live from boston with the very latest. >> yeah. it was a nurse right here at children's hospital that noticed the child matching the description of the amber alert. then called police. around 2:00 a.m. saturday, state police activated an amber alert. a woman took off with her seriously ill two-month-old son. allegedly, ignoring directions to get the boy emergency medical care. they believe the 36-year-old suspect may have been in massachusetts after leaving wilkes-barre, pennsylvania late friday afternoon. police in pennsylvania reported the child was suffering from severe dehydration. law enforcement was looking for this car with new hampshire plates. we are told the mother had a

felony warrant issued out of pennsylvania along with three default warrants out of massachusetts. it was a nurse at children's hospital who called police after she noticed she checked in a baby that matched it is description of the amber alert. her mother has been arrested at children's. this mother is expected to be arraigned on monday as a fugitive from justice on warrants out of pennsylvania. >> pats fans ready for a grudge-match. indy tb 12 and the pats ready to take on the colts for the first time since the afc championship game and the sparks of the deflategate headache. the pats have something to prove going into kickoff. trey daerr is live from indianapolis. a lot of buzz on this one. >> yeah. nancy, you know, really around the n.f.l., there is not much to make of rivalries anymore. the patriots and kolgts have all the makings of a

before football night in america followed by kick yauch at 8:00. we will have complete coverage after the game. >> sky 7 taking a trip up north. a vibrant glow from new hampshire. take a look at. this you can see all the colors changing there. the leaves reaching their peak up north. perfect weather this weekend to. check out some fall foliage. you will want to bundle up. another chilly night on the way. >> yeah. depending on how far north you go, nick, you may see some snow. pictures out of sugarloaf, maine. snow-capped hilltops and beautiful fall foliage. a freeze warning is in effect for much of eastern massachusetts tonight with the exceptions of boston metro area. the cape and the islands. for temperatures that are expected to drop well below that magical 32-degree mark. if you have any of those sensitive plants that are still hanging on, the basil, to may toes, you better have an italian dinner tonight. that is it for the growing season for us. current temperatures, right around 50 for moebs. norwood at 50 right now. it is still about a

5-10-degree difference from where we were at 24 hours ago. the chill definitely settling in. you can see even some snow in southern vermont right now. some spot showers for the merrimack valley. now that, won't continue through the night. partly cloudy. again, very cold. we are looking at those mid-20's to mid-30's. and tomorrow, a chilly day, for sure. stuck in the 40's for most of us. how long does the cold stick around? we will get to that extended forecast in about ten minutes. >> a driver under arrest after a wild ride. police say the drunk driver drove the wrong way down route 3 in plymouth for nearly 20 miles. the troopers said they had to resort to dramatic and drastic measures to get that driver to stop. kelli o'hara live with the latest in plymouth. kelli? >> yeah. good evening, nancy. dramatic, absolutely. that is because this driver was going the wrong way on route 3 for more than 20 miles. just after midnight last night.

tell us. troopers got a plethora of 911 calls just after midnight of a driver going the wrong way at route 3. he got on exit 6 or 7. they finally stopped him before the sagamore bridge by using stop sticks. luckily, a car that that man hit no, one was hurt in it. now, troopers arrested the 26-year-old kevin palmer of plymouth. they say after the use of stop sticks, the tires blew out. eventually, he came to a stop. that is where you can see, they led him into handcuffs right there into the barracks. now, palmer is facing a lot of charges, including an oui. he is going to be in falmouth court on monday morning. to hear all those charges. again, state police breathing a sigh of relief tonight that no one was hurt. live in plymouth, kelli o'hara, 7 news. >> new at 6:00: a woman is dead after a late-night car crash in westport. this happened last night along route six. you can see the car there on its roof. witnesses say the victim was

sped up and rear-ended her, forring her car to flip over. it is other driver was arrested on drunk driving charges. >> a state trooper recovering tonight after a track or the-trailer slammed into his cruiser. it is crash happened last night while the officer was on a work detail on the mass. pike in newton. the air force was taken to mass. general and released this morning. police say the truck driver did not move over for the cruiser and the cstruction detail. the driver of the car was not hurt but could face charges. >> a car goes up in flames in ashland, after a teenager crashed his s.u.v. into a pole. pictures here, you can see the flames shooting out of the hood of the s.u.v. there. it happened at the intersection of east cedar and union streets. just before 11:00 this morning. no one was hurt. police did arrest the driver, though. 18-year-old roberto bonilla of ashland. police say he now faces a number of charges, including speeding. >> an uber driver accused of sexually assaulting a woman last year will be spending the

the 47-year-old alejandro dohan pleaded guilty to rape and kidnapping charges. a judge sentenced him on friday afternoon to 10-12 years in prison. he is also connected to several other assaults, including one that took place on the esplanade in 2007. >> police still searching for a suspect after two people were stabbed in the street in east boston overnight. the violence broke out around 2:00 this morning on bennington street. both victims are expected to recover. boston police say the stabbings happened after a group got into a fight. >> it is a final farewell for u.s. airways. as the company's last flight a red-eye flight from san francisco landed at philadelphia international airport just before 6:00 this morning. it was a symbolic trip as u.s. airways prepares to merge with american airlines. the airline hoensed a big final farewell party before takeoff for passengers and the crew. also, uber drivers going on strike. drivers with the ride-sharing company plan to strike this weekend in cities throughout

the country. but a check of the smartfone app shows there are still plenty of drivers on the road. they are demanding a 60% increase for certain rides. a $7 minimum fare and a cancellation fee. >> we are following more news today. lamar odom showing signs of improvement after spending three days in a coma. according to reports: the former n.b.a. star is awake and speaking. odom's estranged wife khloe kardashian has stayed by his side since his drug overdose. according to her mother, kris jenner, odom is still in critical condition. he was found unresponsive at a brothel in nevada on tuesday. >> turning now to the race for the white house. republican presidential front-runner donald trump in a war of words with fellow candidate jeb bush. meantime, hillary clinton is out on the campaign trail this weekend before what could be a difficult week on capitol hill.

"we were attacked and trump replieds, "no, you are pathetic." >> i think it's ridiculous to suggest that he is responsible for it. >> as republicans fought amongst themselves, hillary clinton took her campaign to alabama. late they are week, she testified before the house select committee on benghazi.

breeze. out of the west, northwest. about 10-20 miles per hour. and it can make those temperatures feel like they are in the 40's at times. even some snow showers in the green mountains of vermont right now. some spot showers through the merrimack valley. those will melt away through the next couple of hours. even the clouds moving out. a mostly clear sky overnight tonight. those winds pulling back a touch. prime for cooling. those temperatures will be dropping overnight tonight. partly cloudy. to even mostly clear. that freeze warning in effect for almost all of eastern massachusetts. with the exception of metro-boston, the cape and the islands. now, this color of blue here would actually extend back into the worcester hills. however, the growing season has already ended there. rest assured: those temperatures will be below freezing also in the worcester hills. tomorrow, mostly sunny. you will want to bask in the sunshine. it will be colder and that wind will still be quite blustery. highs tomorrow stuck in the 40's. 42 for a high in worcester.

almost a preview of winter, the coldest temperatures that we have seen this season. now, tomorrow night, again, this is different. a freeze watch. that is in effect for tomorrow night for the city of boston. and also for cape cod and the vineyard. so we are expecting the growing season to even come to an end for metro-boston as we get into tomorrow night. if you haven't brought in those sensitive plants yet, it would be good to do that tonight. head of the charles for tomorrow again. blustery breeze out of the northwest. 46 for a high in the city of boston. you don't like the cold? i understand. maybe it's too soon for you to really be pabing on all of the winter layers. as we will be through the next couple of days. well, we will rebound with those temperatures as we get into the middle of next week. and boy, the it a big rebound. 49 for a high on monday. then on tuesday, back up into the low 60's. very seasonable for this time of year. and we stay with the milder temperatures through next

with trey daerr. >> copping to you live from indianapolis. patriots-colts showdown on sunday night football. things can get pretty ugly for indy. tom brady and company continue their rampage on the n.f.l. if history is any indication, the patriots are pretty safe and often. new england, certainly likes this match-up against the colts. that is pretty much an understatement. new england riding the win streak against indy. the offense averaging better than 41 points a game during that stretch. the high point coming in 2012 when the pats dropped 59 on the colts. that was in andrew luck's first career start at gillette stadium. tomorrow night, we actually find out if the offense can keep this up against colts defense. >> it's similar to what they have done. but i mean, every time we go into a game thinking that it's similar, they changes things
