p . >> reporter: starting with weather spotters this morgue, line especially berg at 19, pepperell 20, stoneham 27, those temperatures don't see all acold right they were for this early in the season. to get boston, logan airport to 31 degrees it takes a lot. you know where that thermometer is on the tarmac. so close to the water. all right. boston normally would get our first freeze on the 12th of november so this was quite early but the suburbs just right in that zone there and it was a good freeze too. a ground hardening freeze. wiped out the mosquitoes, the growing season, don't have to worry about the lawn, it kind of goes dormant over the next couple of weeks unless you are in direct sun. some folks have really lucky lawns that stay green in no very where and have to keep mowing them. you can see the snow capped mountain in the distance? temperatures gone from five degrees this morning to 18.
6:18 pm
the fact that it's cold and it's full of ice right now? well, it means the upper atmosphere is tatting to warm up up. if you can look in the distance or in the foreground i should say the foliage starting to fade a little bit across northern new england so it is past peek using that a guy of the north east kingdom, northern new hampshire, western maine, northern maine too. we're peter meheganing but the to faying quickly across parts of southern new england, southern new hampshire, vermont and maine too as the breezes, code morgues, leaves dropping, pine needles are everywhere too. it's clean up time. current temperature in the 40's. these will pitch quickly this evening back into the 30's and low 40's and then hold as clouds move in. some sprinkles are possible and more clouds than sun across the merrimack valley, southern new hampshire. you can call that coal. certainly a bump in temperatures but 63 boston, framingham, attleboro, nice getting encloses to 60's, midics tease this brockton as well. whatever we get tomorrow, kind of fades on wednesday as a cool front comes through.
6:19 pm
slices through changes our wind direction too but then we're back up again on thursday. another change in wind direction then back down again on friday. this is the seesaw in temperatures that i see for this week. normal high temperatures is 60 degrees mind you so we're in that neighborhood. not as cold tonight, clear start then clouding over. we should make it to 33 at the coldest then lower mid 40's elsewhere then by morning mid 40's by the way so mainly cloudy passing sprinkles tomorrow, 58 to 64. the 7 on 7 forecast layer in the week, we might have a sprinkle threat but certainly not a lot of rain in the 7 day forecast. no big storms brewing, no all day rains, we kind of need the water right now before we go into winter. we'll see you tonight. beating patriots is hard enough for teams playing near perfect football and as we've seen time and time again, if you make a mistake against bill belichick, he will make you regret it. the colts got a painful reminder
