5 people are hurt in a bad crash in wingston, investigators tell us a pickup truck and van collided head-on and two people have serious injuries. everyone else is expected to be okay. plymouth police investigating a hit and run. a man riding his bike was hit just after 10:00 last night. this was on carver road. he has serious injuries. recovering. police don't have a description of the car or the driver who left that accident. >> a father from hardaway facing child abuse charges will be staying behind bars. randall lint is accused of beating and starving his 7-year-old son. lint appeared before a judge today. he's being held on $200,000 bail and due back in court next month. jack was found unresponsive dehydrated and starving at his home back in july and now being treated at a long-term care facility. we're following more news today. the city of new york is remembering a police officer just killed in the line of duty. 33-year-old randolph holder, a

five-year veteran, was responding to a report of gunshots in an east harlem neighborhood when he was shot in the head. happened last night, and he died a few hours later. police arrested who they believe is responsible a few blocks away a short time later. this is the fourth nypd officer killed in the line of duty in the last year. so the city is mourning this loss of officer holder but police are asking for support from the public. >> we're humbled by officer randolph holder's example, an example of service and courage and sack fuse. >> these police officers need your support as we bury our brother police officer. but it centd there. we need your support every day on every corner in every neighborhood. >> police haven't released the name of their suspect but they do reveal that he was wanted in connection with the previous shooting. a u.s. military fighter jet

crashes in england killing the pilot. the plane went down in farmland near the town of ellie on the eastern coast of england. that area is close to two air bases. the pilot is believed to be the only person on board. the u.s. military now investigating what happened. syrian president bashar passat in moscow talks with russian president vladimir putin. russian tunnels say the talks centered on military action in syria where russia is assad's chief supporter. the kremlin says the talks were about the fight against terrorist groups but critics say assad uses that term to describe regime. to our nation's capitol now where speaker of the house john boehner is working to find a replacement before he leaves the job at the end of this month. 7's elizabeth noreika is here now with more on the speaker's shake-up. >> kim, republican congressman paul ryan has agreed to serve as speaker but admits he has some reservations. he made the announcement last night after many politicians speaker. however, he made some demands saying that the republican party

in the stated of new mexico, police are searching for people responsible for what appears to be a deadly road rage incident. a 4-year-old died in this case. that child and two others were found shot in a pickup truck albuquerque. >> tonight police are make a real plea to the public for any sort of help. happened lang this stretch of interstate 40. one car pulled up against the round. >> reporter: one of the rounds killing a 4-year-old girl inside the truck. children in car crashes.

central new england, central mass really, i should say, and that's where we found those showers that kept us a littleer here too. so the front sags down a little bit closer to hartford connecticut tonight and block island and then swings back north tomorrow and gives us a chance to warm up. so i think that will spread closer to the merrimack valley. remains to be seen how far that warm front gets. i'm think it stalls right near sports smith and through manchester, too. 70s i think should be isolated mainly to boston and points north and west, and maybe as close by as lawrence, but that might be pushing it as well. let's see how it evolves on the temperature, shall we, tomorrow as we go through the day. le warmth settles in for the
