>> this is 7 news at noon. >> christa: police on the scene of a violent robbery on main street in stoneham where investigators are telling us the robbers tasedded their victims. good afternoon, everybody. this happened at an investment company and a coin shop. >> jadiann: one employee was rushed to the hospital. officers are at the scene trying to figure out what happened. kelli o'hara live for us with the very latest. kelli? >> reporter: yeah. good afternoon. it turns out this isn't the first time this was robbed

police tell us to the tune of at least $100,000. they are looking to see if these robberies are connected. here is what happened earlier today. just after 9:00 this morning. police tell us the two men walked into this coin shop here just off of main street. they said they wanted to buy some coins. maybe sell some jewelry. things escalated from there. >> during the transaction, apparently, one of the suspects pulled out a taser and tased one of the employees. a second employee came over to assist. he was tased as well. during the incident, both employees were zip-tied. f >> reporter: now, one employee was rushed to the hospital. no word on how he is doing. the police chief does tell us, though, that at the time, surveillance cameras inside the store were not working. anyone with information is asked to call stoneham police a.s.a.p. in stoneham this noon, kelli o'hara, 7 news. >> christa: two men facing a

judge today accused of wearing scary halloween masks in a robbery. you see police holding one of the masks in the photo you see there. the charges are coming after an assault on a man near savin hill station. >> jadiann: the men went to court this morning. dan hausle has more on this story. dan? >> reporter: well, police say these two men used two fake masks and a real-looking gun to pull off what was a real robbery. this happened last night near the savin hill "t" stop. let's go back to that picture there. you can see the boston police surrounding one of the two young suspects that police say robbed a man near the savin hill "t" stop. you see one of the two white masks police say they found on the two suspects along with a replica gun. well, we didn't get to see their faces in court either today. the judge allowed the men to be held behind the door because identification will be a key issue in this case. defense lawyers questioning whether police got the right guys and whether they allowed the witness to get a description after the police

bail was set pretty low. $2,500 and $3,500. the assault charge is because one of the men stuck his hand in the victim's pocket. the only thing they got away with in the robbery was a salad which wasn't recovered. dan hausle, 7 news. >> jadiann: two children fighting for their lives and a woman killed after a collision with a cement truck. police trying to figure out what went wrong here. three vehicles were involved in that crash. today we are hearing from one of the drivers about what he saw. victoria warren live for us in oxford with that man's story. >> reporter: yeah. this man knew the accident was bad. he himself was hurt. his son who was in his car hit his head into the windshield. he said he didn't realize the horror of it until he ran to the other car. he found that the woman driving the car had died. and in the back seat, there were two very young children in very bad shape. flowers and a small memorial at the site of a horrific

the devastating images can't leave this man's mind. he was in this s.u.v. with his son when he says he saw a car ahead of him swerve into oncoming traffic on route 20 in oxford. crashing held-on into a cement truck. >> she fly into my car. >> reporter: injured himself, he ran to the car. the 31-year-old woman was dead. in the back seat, he first saw a two-year-old child. first. for some reason, when i removed her, the seat belt off the neck, that is when... >> reporter: only then did he see a second child, an eight-month-old baby in a car seat, bleeding and trapped beneath the crush of the car. >> i said "stay with me. stay with me."

bringing back painful memories for leonard cardinal. another deadly crash on the stretch of road. a cross honors the victim. people have asked for years for barriers to go up. >> there is no place on this road. there is no breakdown lane. there is no chance for mistake. >> reporter: police are still investigating why this car crossed the median. as for the man and his son, they went to the hop. the driver of the cement truck also went to the hospital. all three of them are doing okay. those two young children remain in the hospital. we are told that the baby at last check, remains on life support. victoria warren, 7 news. >> reporter: students returning to class in pembroke today after a school threat by a fellow student. and this one targeted a middle school. here is nicole oliverio with the latest. a 12-year-old is accused of making threats against a

pembroke community middle school and classmates. >> a scary prospect. you don't want it to happen in your neighborhood. they seem to be on top of it. so i hope nothing comes of it. and i hope the child was just acting out as a teenager. >> reporter: police met with school administrators to address safety concerns. the student has not been in school this week but has also not been disciplined. >> honestly, it starts at home. doing that at that age, there needs to be some, you know, reper kugs or something going on that the school has to jump in. >> reporter: the principal sent this e-mail to middle school parents after school let out yesterday. parents hoped for more information. others with younger children were upset to read about it on social media. neither police nor the schools would comment on the specifics of the threat. rather, they would only say the 12-year-old made threatening statements toward other children. >> even if there was nothing

for it to be based off of, i mean, if there are threats being made, you deserve to know what the threats were. >> reporter: that student, we are told, is undergoing a mental health evaluation. police are investigating. there is no threat to the middle school. >> jadiann: a lockdown lifted at saugus high school. the school went into lockdown for an hour after there was a tip that there was a student with a knife on a bus near campus. police searched the building for weapons. >> we were able to determine that the bus was for a separate school district, a municipality. we immediately notified that department with the information we had. they are taking the appropriate steps and actions on their side. >> reporter: well, the student who allegedly had the knife has been tracked down and he is a student in wakefield. >> christa: now turning to your weather. we will take a look outside. shall we? it is bright, sunny, and a little bit chitty out there. probably a day for the winter coat.

destruction, that will be minor. we will talk more about the storm in a few minutes. >> jadiann: all lanes of 95 south are open after a car burst into flames. last night. you see the front of the car there. slowly engulfed in flames. crews had to shut down all but one lane to clean it up. bonnie and clyde. fvrns arrested after allegedly being caught in the act. the string of robberies began here in massachusetts. but ended when an officer says he saw them running from a delaware bank with cash. ryan schulteis has more. >> reporter: after more than a month on the run, a quincy couple called a modern-day bonnie-and-clyde are finally under arrest. joseph and jenny carrier were caught after a police chase in pennsylvania on i-95. the chase coming after police say they robbed a bank in wilmington, delaware. investigators say the couple was driving the same stolen buick s.u.v. from quincy seen at previous robberies over the

ludlow, massachusetts at the end of september. joseph robbed the bank on center street and told the teller he had a gun and demanded large bills. after that, they were spotted in florida, holding up a wells fargo bank and getting away with cash there. then a few weeks ago, they hit a bank in maryland. in each robbery, carrier investigators were very concerned about the fact that the duo could be dangerous. that all ended when an alert state police officer spotted the stolen s.u.v. ryan schulteis, 7 news. >> jadiann: highway inspectors have found major deficiencies in the big dig tunnels in the past year. according to a report by the "boston herald", some need to be fixed right away. they discovered heavy rust on construction joints, missing steel cover plates, and heavy corrosion in some areas. the most serious issues were found inside the i-90 connector. on the westbound side, inspectors noted heavy rust and leaks. on the eastbound side, leaks

that was the remnants of hurricane patricia. it is more like the ghost of pa trish shachlt not like we have this pocket of tropical rain or wind gus coming at us. it is going to rain tomorrow evening. a lot of cities and towns close to an inch of rain. a little bit less on the cape and south shore. isolated reports of two inches up along route 2. winds increasing tomorrow afternoon out of the southeast. occasionally, guing to 20-40 miles per hour. with leaves on the trees, there may be minor wind damage tomorrow evening and overnight tomorrow night. in terms of disrunning travel, i don't think it's anything significant. i don't think it is a repeat of last month with that storm system. overnight storm. tomorrow evening's commute will feature some scattered showers. as well as early thursday morning. but again, the bulk of this weather system comes into town about 10:00 or 11:00 tomorrow night. up until 4:00 or 5:00 a.m. thursday morning. you notice thursday, 6:00 a.m., still some stragglers.

carolina. the aggressive arrest of a high-schooler is causing outrage. >> jadiann: cell phone video shot by students has gone viral. some of the videos are disturbing. outrage is growing over the disturbing incident caught on cell phone video captured by a student at spring valley high school in columbia, south carolina. the video shows a school resource officer confronting a female student for allegedly disrunning class. he asked her to come with him.

escalates. it's unclear what led up to the incident. but a second video shot by another student shows the officer pulling the girl to the ground and throwing her across the room. the officer identify by the richland county sheriff's department as deputy ben fields declined to be interviewed, pending an investigation. >> the sheriff fully understand it is seriousness of this incident. he will address this again once this investigation is completed. >> reporter: according to the sheriff's office, it was only after the student refused to leave the classroom that the officer was called in. on facebook and on twitter, the video was trending with the hash tag, assault at spring valley high. the aclu and the richland two black parents association are condemning the incident, calling it egregious and unacceptable. school officials say they are working with the sheriff's department to investigate. the district superintendent released a statement saying, "student safety is and always will be the district's top priority.

we soon may learn more about dzhokhar tsarnaev living conditions at the super max prison in colorado. the judge who presided over the trial is scheduled to publicly release the information tomorrow. attorneys involved in the case will still have a chance to try to convince the judge to keep the information private. tsarnaev is in colorado while he awaits a transfer to a prison in indiana. he was sentenced to die in june. >> christa: that big blast that laefld home in taunton was caused by the home owner. the 52-year-old woman accidentally left hs open a gas valve trying to repair their hot water heater on sunday. the basement filled up with natural gas and it eventually exploded into flames. she was able to get out safely. the house was destroyed. >> jadiann: still ahead, the story of a library hero. what this man did when he spotted what he thought was a would-be attacker. england getting the chance to
