remembering a life taken too soon. >> plus a kennel caper leads to a desperate search after several puppies are stolen. >> cool temperatures are out like the month of october and we kick next week off with a nice warm up in store. >> and a 10- year- old can' t go trick or treating so the family and friends bring halloween to him. >> now at 11, breaking news, the ntsb believes it has found wreckage from the doomed cargo ship el faro. a search team tracked down the wreckage about 15,000 feet below the surface of the ocean. >> and the discovery made in the area where the ship went missing. the ntsb says it still needs to send a remote control vehicle to make sure the wreck is el faro. that could begin as soon as tomorrow. the ship went down earlier this month when hurricane joaquin came barreling through the bahamas killing all 33 people

including two crew members in massachusetts. keith and another from kingston. maritime academy. >> also from the night team, a team tragedy in franklin. the young girl killed after last night. witnesses say rescuers what got there just after it happened were trying to pull the girl >> but couldn' time. brandon is live in medway with the latest. brandon? >> it seems a very popular girl that touched a lot of people and you could tell from the people that came to cope with the terrible loss. the 17- year- old died in the car accident from franklin. you should see a makeshift memorial is growing at the scene. police and fire say the high school senior crashed into a tree. bystanders try to get her out

because of the fire spreading in the vehicle. friends and family understandably too upset to speak right now but they say maddie was an excellent young woman. a 3- sport athlete and very good student. she was someone that brought a lot of joy to the school. the outpouring by her friends, faculty and staff that came to med way high school for support and counseling speaks to the type of young woman she was. grief counselors were at the school saturday. a tragic loss of whom so many say was an exceptional young woman. >> also grief counselors here at the high school from 2- 4 and still under investigation. live in med way. i' m brandon guno, 7 news night team. >> and thieves barking up the wrongtree. several puppies from the kennel. the canine caper has police on high alert and they' re asking for your help, too. the night team' s john cocoa is live in the control room with more. john? >> stolen under the cover of darkness and now they'

worried about their health. pick a pup kennel is typically a place people take dogs home. friday night there was no adoption process when these 3 puppies were stolen. >> last night between 9:30 and 10 we got the call from the alarm company and the alarm had been triggered here at the kennel. >> and came in and found that back door unlocked and just thought hadn' t been secured and it wasn' t until the next morning the manager noticed the dogs were gone. a male and female boxer and the female yellow lab all stolen. >> we' re not sure exactly obviously how or who, but the back door was clearly the point of entry. >> according to the kennel, whoever took the dogs was able to somehow sneak past their security cam ras. the concern now is the care for these puppies. >> the puppies need continued vaccinations in addition to what they had here and they need to be seen by a vet and we know, what' s going to happen to them at this point. >> they say the kennel did get

sprinkles tomorrow: it looks like a 20% chance and store. run through the time line on this and talk about warm temperatures in 10 minutes. >> a plane crash killed more than 200 people in egypt. air traffic control lost contact with the russian plane about 20 minutes after takeoff. the airline says it inspected the aircraft before it took off and didn' t find any problems. the secretary of state john kerry expressed sympathy for the victims' families. >> the initial reports represent the tremendous tragedy and loss and we exten our sympathies to the families and all those concerned. >> russian president vladimir putin ordered an investigation into the carb and declared sunday an official day of mourning for the victims. >> new at 11, the halloween keftume causes a scare at fort brag after a soldier dresses up as a suicide bomber. this costume included a fake

explosive vest. part of the military base had to be evacuated. right now the incident is under further investigation. >> the halloween tragedy in new york after the car plows through trick or treaters killing 3 people. the accident happened just before 5:00 tonight in the bronx. police say the 52- year- old driver rammed into the back of another vehicle before hitting the trick or treaters. two adults and the 10- year- old girl were killed. 4 others injured and no word on what may have caused the crash. >> fire fighters battling fierce flames today in fitchburg. the fire started on the third floor of the multi- family home on granite street and it spread down to the basement. more than 20 people now without a home. witnesses say they could see smoke several blocks away. >> nathan right here and oh, like i see smoke. and look up at the sky and then rush over the streets. >> the good news in all of this

though is that no one was hurt. still no word, though, on what caused the fire. >> new details on this story. remember the protesters who blocked off part of i- 93 earlier this year? apparently they will not be spending any time in jail. the judge ordered the 14 members of the group black lives matter to perform 60 hours of community service instead of jail time. in january the group chained themselves to concrete- filled barrels along the highway during the morning commute causing massive traffic and backups including the ambulances on the way to emergencies. >> a red sox prospect caught up in a scary situation in florida. brian johnson in the passenger seat yesterday morning when carjacked at gunpoint. now johnson made his major league debut as a pitcher for the red sox. the carjacking happened just outside of orlando, florida. they say the man approached the car outside of the convenience store with the gun. they say the man fired one shot into the ground.

too frustrating for him. so neighbors and loved ones decided to bring halloween to him. >> but they didn' t expect the love and support to grow as much as it did. the night team' s john cocoa has the heartwarming story from lowell. >> oh, my goodness! thank you! >> christmas may be a couple of months away. but on at least this saturday in lowell, halloween became the season of giving. >> for our friends and our community we' re very blessed because we' re very loved. i think it also gives them some satisfaction to be able to help us out and make sure that luke is enjoying his day. >> 10- year- old lucas nowell has muscular dystrophy, uses a motorized wheelchair making trick or treating nearly impossible. but not completely impossible. >> for us it got difficult bringing him out trick or treating. the sidewalks, the darkness, the leaves. >> a reverse trick or treat has been put together for lucas for halloween night. instead of him going to get

treats to him. in full costume and making this holiday scary good. >> i' m overwhelmd. just about brought to tears by the whole thing. the people of lowell are amazing and beyond. lowell and beyond. >> i think it' s very nice. >> halloween has always been special for lucas' family. this one might top the list. in lowell, john coco, 7 news night team. >> the pumpkin thief in wilmington has one little boy the lookout ready to catch the criminals. the 6- year- old boy' s mom called the police department so the boy could report 6 pumpkins stolen from his porch. the officers knew that finding the missing pumpkins would be almost impossible so they bought 8 new pumpkins for him and a bag of candy to jump start his halloween. >> and halloween wrapping up. and we' ve got a fall back tonight and what will the beginning of november bring weatherwise?

>> the current was really strong that day. it was pulling me out and pulling me out. i didn' t know that the propellor was on. they threw out a rope to me. i grabbed on to get on the boat and the rope got in the propellor and pulled me under.

the spooky graveyard out there in the outfield. that halo costume there. >> sometimes the holiday goes to the dogs. a trio of cowboys in the backyard hoping for a few boots. >> and these two are familiar to me and this is my dogs frank and beans and ready as a dragon. >> i thought he was a lobster. >> and crustacean of some kind? >> and a great halloween, too, bri. >> pretty close to normal for this time of the year and now that we' re wrapping up halloween we' ll have to focous what' s to come after that. we' ll keep up with daylight saving time right now. the end of it tonight at 2 a.m. and got to fall back one hour with the clocks. most of the clocks, the cell phones for sure. ones.

ll probably handle this for you. and at sunset and tomorrow is t until february second when we start to see the sunseting during the 5:00 hour again. so it' s a tough pill to swallow and gain an hour of sleep as long as kids got the memo. temperatures with upper 40s for us and not free falling tonight and now that the clouds moved in and that' s ahead of the front that could bring us a few spot showers into tomorrow. it looks more significant tote west but as the fronts have through the last few months they sort of drizzle out as we see them pass through the area. i think we' re more midmorning into midday and then it is going to the clouds that break apart for the afternoon and the temperatures get a boost. so maybe you' ll notice more tomorrow than the showers is the breeze. it will be breezy tomorrow with the morning into the afternoon

so tonight spooky skies and temperatures not so scary. and then it' s the temperatures with the bit of the breeze out of the southwest. 67 to 63 for the highs and tomorrow almost 10 above where we were today. we know with the jet stream sometimes it' s a balancing act. we had more of this zonal flow or straight across but now it' s going to sort of lift the scales in one area and dump the cold in another part of the country. specifically in the northwest. so we benefit from this and those temperatures really get a boost. not very november- like. as you take a look at the 7 on 7 forecast, i think the one exception to the 60s and the 70 highs for the week is this wednesday with the coastal areas and the backdoor cold front into the 50s and still really nice temperatures and sunshine all week long. have a great night and happy halloween! >> and the nightmare of 2010
