11-year-old o woke up to tell me she was scared. my other one ran in and said mommy, what's going on? we looked out the window and you can see the light from the guns going off. one ran over there and the gunfire kept ongoing back. back and forth. she says one of the shooters crashed a car into tree off. one went through that miss much. . vehicle. driveway . today neighbors were still finding stray shell casings from the wild weekend shootout. for my children, i was really worried and scared. fortunately no injuries reported. residents around here are just hoping the police eventually catch the suspects so they can't shoot up another neighborhood. in brockton, i'm byron barnett, 7 news. also on 7, four people are facing charges accused in a shop shoplying ring in wrentham. officers arrested these two suspects over the weekend. they accused of ewing fraudulent credit cards while shopping in wrentham.

detectives late area rested a man and woman nearby. officers say they found more than 30,000 dollars would the of merchandise and gift cards inside their car . hampshire investigating a hit and run over the weekend. they are looking for the driver who was in a ford truck like the one you see here. accident happened saturday near the intersection of lafayette road and heritage avenue. investigators believe the truck involved may have front headlight damage on the passenger side. boston mayor marty walsh is being looking for promoters of the planned indy car race in boston to finalize their plan and on. the mayor's coo recently sent an e-mail saying indy car had two weeks to reach the necessary agreements it would need to hope the labor day weekend race. the race is scheduled to be held in the seaport district. the former uconn student arrested after demanding macand cheese at a campus cafeteria will appear in court later this month. that's luke gotti scheduled to

frustrated learning the first case occurred a full 8 days before he ate at chipolte. he is also not pleased with how some locations handled such a serious outbreak . each store had different signs up for why they were closing because of mechanical issues or stuff and one of them i saw had a really snarky sign that was like oh, don't worry, the world will be in billion, we'll open up soon again. it feels really insensitive to what people are going through. >> reporter: have thors are still working to find the exact source of the contamination. >> anchor: caught on camera, a mom stealing candy from a home while trick-or-treating in california. here is some video. if you look there, what was happening in san diego the mom was taking a bunch of candy and then encouraging her kids to do the same. no one in the neighborhood has yet to identify them. parents in pennsylvania facing a frightening situation after several children found sewing needles in their halloween candy candy. police are investigating reports

of tampered candy in the neighborhood known as kennet square. this was halloween night. police say six candy bars were found with hidden sewing needles neighborhoods said there were so was her . i heard about it before like other places in the united states but here? i didn't think so. . that's scary to think about the children being out there and . i almost feel like i could cry at this point. it's very upsetting to me. >> anchor: police have not found the person responsible but they are questioning whether the source tamper something from a person or from the candy bar distributor . >> reporter: a man is recovering after a big past in michigan. you can see here home destroyed. fire officials say debris from the explosion went flying into other example's homes. one person is hurt. the cause of that blast is still under investigation . >> anchor: a woman recovering and face charges after she is bitten by atiger at a nebraska zoo. police say that woman hopped a security fence and tried to pet a tiger after hours.

investigators say the tiger bit her hand when she reached into the an million's cage of the woman has been charged with criminal trespassing. >> anchor: a day at the beach takes a terrifying turn in florida. a woman attacked by a shark while waiting in shallow waters. witnesses say the swimmer was bitten right to the bone. the dangerous encounter happening while the beach was packed. kris anderson has all of the die tails . i saw the fin come up and slap her in the face . >> reporter: holly peterson recalling moments when she rescued a woman screaming for help after she was bitten by a shark in coco beach, florida . she said it got me so i grabbed her hand drug her back to the shore . she broke down while talk talking about the terrifying ordeal. another man, sean bowen, called for help when he heard the screams. i just saw blood and got on the felon and weapon over there . emergency crewing took the woman to the hospital with a bite to the ankle. officials say she was alert and talking. miguel and his family witnessed the shark attack and rescue. there were waist deep so maybe three feet of water, three and a half feet of water .

he and others couldn't believe what happened. we had this planned for over a year and a half to come and hang out. not in a million year, man . sunday was the last day of the busy beach season in batch art county where the attack took place. besides this shark bite, crews rescued 11 people from rip current in one day. that includes a child. we didn't go deeper than our knees. it's really tricky in p even though only five of the 24 lifeguard station will remain open, crews say they will still be around to keep visitors safe . by the way, this is the second shark attack in coco beach this year. that's the latest in the newsroom, kris anderson, 7 news. singer songwriter ferrell williams bringing a sign of hope to people in charles stone, south carolina. the grammy winning singer performed at yesterday's service at the emmanuel ame church and the appearance comes nearly five months after a shooting during a bible study at that church took the lives of nine people. he performed his hit freedom and church members say they love

>> anchor: local football coach is tackling doubt on the field . >> anchor: this coach in springfield deaf but that doesn't stop him from helping kids compete in sports that he loves. he found other ways to communicate with players. the coach uses body language out of the field and his players say that works just fine. you tell them, got to bring your arm up, move it, sometimes i have to show them how to move, so we find a way to communicate . he motivates kids it keep going and he teaches them the little things while other quarterback coaches might not do. >> anchor: craig had a lot of practice coing. he has been out on field with his son darren since he was five years old. good for him .

over the next few days we have a chance on thursday and friday too with a front going through. thursday is kind of just mired in some cloudiness and the chance for a sprinkle. these are not high chances obviously so we're not talking about a wet week and we're not talking about any major storms so harp on that fact that we still are in a precipitation deficit. drought, better known as a drought and in worcester little over five and a half inches below norm a. we did make a good dent in this. in boston since the giving of the year mostly clear skies tonight falling back to 40 to 50 degrees with a light and variable wind. in fact it will be calm in many cases. almost warm tomorrow. 66 to 71, mostly sunny sky. winds turning northwest, the front goes by then it stalls and we do get a little cooler on wednesday as we fall back into the low 60's along the coastline coastline. boston may make 59 or 60 then bouncing back up again into the mid and upper 60's on thursday with that chance for a sprinkle then friday 70 degrees.
