the incident is under investigation. >> ryan: d.c.f.joined the investigation into the death after child. the district attorney says there be no obvious signs of trauma but they're trying to figure out what caused the baby's death. the d.c.f.is working with police on this investigation but won't say when they got involved with this family. we do have a crew on the way and will bring you more as we get it. ryan schulteis, 7 news. >> kim: also breaking at 6:00 three young teenagers in lowell charged with assault. police say they were using a b.b.gun that looked like a real weapon. investigators say they were shooting the b.b.s at people. >> adam: steve cooper is live with some breaking details for us. >> reporter: even police here in lowell are stunned by this unprovoked attack and tonight one of the victims a homeless man, is speaking out describing what happened to him. >> pellet gun and one came through the top and hit me in the back of the leg. >> reporter: this man who asked us not to show his

homeless men attacked by three view myles. >> today they came with pellet guns and unloaded a bunch of clips on us so we called the police on them. >> reporter: when police arrived at the railroad bridge near fletcher and dutton. the boys bolted but not before tossing rocks at the officers. the kids arrested. >> like i said i don't want them arrested. i want them to be talked to. one day you might be in this predicament. you don't want people throwing rocks at you or somebody coming hitting you when you are down and out on your luck. >> that is the real gun. >> reporter: the one on the left is the real one? >> correct. >> reporter: lowell police captain pointing out the similarities between the b.b.gun the kids had on the right and the .40 caliber pistol the cops have in lowell. >> if you are going to have a b.b.gun they should mark

b.b.and not have things cha change that. >> reporter: victims were treated for moyneor injuries -- minor injuries. these juveniles ened up in court in connection with what happened here. live in lowell tonight, steve cooper, 7 news. >> adam: more breaking news, a man involved in a police standoff in canton has died. police say the man stabbed his brother then threatened officers, a swat team moved in, closed down the whole area overnight. they got into the house but the man had injured himself. again investigators telling us the man who stabbed his brother also stabbed himself and has died as a result. >> kim: also on 7 a lowell family living in near after receiving -- fear after receiving threats concerning the k.k.k. the group who post-ed the list claims people are associated with the k. k. k.

before waking up in a hospital bed. >> i knew that i had lost my arm. >> reporter: her life changed forever back in may when she and a girl friend accepted an invitation to go boating in boston. as she went into the water the boat wasoningor and off. the captain is now charged with drunk boating and negligent operation. >> reporter: were you right-handed. >> i was. >> reporter: several months later it is amazing to see how far this 20-year-old has come. >> he was very calm and just okay with it. and stuff. but it was didn't hit me until a lot later. >> reporter: the boat's propellor cut through the top of her head and her left eye socket. her wounds so deep doctors had to use hundreds much staples to close cuts. it's hard to imagine but nicky suffered even more. >> i have radial nerve damage with this hand, too

life without my right arm. it's living my live a limited left arm. it was a lot. >> reporter: her parents say it's hard to watch their dour struggle. >> she likes to do things which herself and sometimes it's hard to let her so i have to, you know turn away and let her do her thing. >> when you look back at some of the things she is doing and you look back and say it's only been over four month you can't help but be proud of everything she has done. >> reporter: nicky is a facer who faces life's challenges everyday. >> everything takes ten times longer. but i can still do it. it is trial and error. >> is probably the most difficult thing for you right now? >> reporter: probably accepting help from people. i have a rule that i have to try it at least once, and if i ask for help then i'll need help but otherwise i want to do everything by myself so that is hard because you don't want to hurt the people that are trying to do a good thing. you know.

through night and very early on friday. few showers moving through. warm front crosses on thursday bringing us back up to 70 degrees so tomorrow is the one day that is a little off considering we've been so mild then friday 72. saturday back down closer to reality. by the way, friday, this is what i'm talking about, 74 for a high temperature. possibly on friday. so regard to beat is 73 set back in 1959 and in previous years and worcester may tie the record at 78. it's a long shot but we're confident about the forecast and the way it's unfolding over the next 7-10 days. mostly clear, 34-49. tomorrow bit cooler, 59-65. mother nature gives us an she takeeth away. last week i was so unconfident about what was going object and now just looked in and looked in for quite a while. we do cool it off but next week going back to the 60s if not near 70 degrees one again.
