>> jadiann: good afternoon, everyone. breaking news out of new hampshire. f.b.i. agents search for clues in manchester in the unsolved murder of a 62-year-old woman. union leader employ ye was shot to death while out for an evening walk in august. we have the very latest from the scene in the search. >> reporter: right now investigators are still on scene. and this search area continues to expand.

initially, investigators were concentrated on this lawn all morning. they have since moved over here. this is ray street. this is where denise robert was found dead. they are trying to dig up new clues into this murder. investigators scouring the lawn of a home on carpenter street in manchester. not far from where denise robert was killed. the 62-year-old who worked for the union leader newspaper was shot and killed in august. while out on an evening walk. the night of her death, a truck was seen leaving the area. now the f.b.i. has joined manchester police and the new hampshire attorney general to continue the investigation into her murder. the scene looked at from all angles. sectioned-off grass closely combed through with metal detectors. dug up in search of ghi evidence that may help law enforcement get closer to solving this murder mystery. again, investigators are still on scene here, still trying to solve this murder.

exercise. walking trails. it is conservation land. it is really nice except that people use it to dump trash. report th woman says trash isn't the only problem she has seen. >> there have been burned-out vehicles there before. there is probably still some remains of burned-out vehicles in there. because i used to see them. i don't think anyone removed them. >> i don't walk up the hill. hill. i walk around here with the dog. >> reporter: neighbors have asked for something to be done to make the area less attractive for trouble. >> we asked that they install some cameras. but that never happened. >> reporter: as police continue to investigate, neighbors saw they saw nothing unusual. >> i'm on a cul-de-sac. sort of at the end of the road a bit. end of a dirt road. >> i didn't hear anything. they were quiet about it. >> reporter: it is too early in the investigation for police to have any identity on this victim. and also to have any information on the exact cause

still for them, it is cooler than normal. jet stream, it looks like this. this is why. it is so warm. and it's going to look like that today, tomorrow. eventually, through the weekend and especially on sunday, cold weather returns. we will talk more about that sunday forecast in a few minutes. >> jadiann: thank you, j.r. happening now. the murder trial of a local teenager continues today. jury selection resumes one day after a judge declared philip chism competent to stand trial. he is accused of raping and killing his teacher at danvers high school back in 2013. jury selection had stopped two weeks ago so chism could undergo a mental health evaluation. a violent crime in maine: three people are murdered. a gunman shot and killed two women and a man in a home in oakland. the 4-year-old shooter then killed himself. police also found a four-year-old girl inside the home. thankfully that, little girl was unharmed. an elderly woman is dead and another seriously hurt after

boston south end. the driver is telling police that solar glare may have been responsible. she says she couldn't see the women. the two friends were in a crosswalk at tremont and west boylston street when they were hit. the victims' family says the grandmother of six lived a few blocks from the scene. people who live in the area say it is a dangerous spot. >> that is what the lady kept saying. she said "i couldn't see anything. the sun was in my face." you can't see. especially with this crosswalk here. a lot of cars. people trying to cross. it's always like that. people trying to cross. cars going by. >> jadiann: no charges have been filed. we have the latest on a small plane crash in new york. police pulled plane parts out of the waters off of queens at the site where a small plane

nypd has recovered a man's body. the f.a.a. is conducting an investigation of the crash. and the plane took off from portsmouth tuesday morning, landing safely in a philadelphia area that same day. now, investigators from new york recovered debris last night. including what appears to be the fuselage and a wing after receiving a 911 call about a smalt plane possibly going down by breezy point. >> we are still searching for more parents of the airplane. ... more parts of the airplane. >> jadiann: the search for other victims was called off because of weather. that does resume today. u.s. officials say there was significant evidence a bomb was onboard a jet that crashed

they believe isis may have directly been involved. bill neely reports from cairo, egypt. >> reporter: from the moment the first rescuers arrived, the bomb was one possible cause of the crash. investigators scouring for clues for six days. now u.s. intelligence says the evidence indicates it was likely a bomb. isis has twice claimed it downed the plane. it has shown no evidence. it is active in the area. u.s. officials believe if it was a bomb, isis may be responsible. it is a strong suspicion. not a conclusion. and no evidence of explosives has been found. but it is a suspicion shared by britain. >> we formed the judgment that there is a significant possibility that the russian aircraft was brought down by an explosive device onboard. >> reporter: britain, one of three countries stopping all flights to the airport where

american rcraft have long been warned away from this area. >> we have a strong desire to get to the bottom of what exactly happened there. >> reporter: no one is ruling out a technical fault as the cause. the black box recorders are still being worked on. the egyptians are really kinning back now. the government minister saying he simply doesn't accept the u.s. theory as fact. but egypt has now fired the head of the airport from where the plane took off. ann and investigators have found really lacks security there. the russians too don't accept the u.s. theory. 23 russian tourist planes are flying into that airport today, but the russians have just sent anti-aircraft missiles to protect their warplanes in syria. they clearly believe they are now a target. back to you. >> jadiann: all right.

wednesday. a lot of work went into preparing for the choreographed flight. safety was obviously their primary focus. wow. i can hardly believe that video, j.r. can you believe someone would >> jeremy: i can. wild stuff. don't they? great video there. closer to home, some warm mostly sunny skies. clouds at times. mid-70's this afternoon. close to a record. the record in the city is actually 79. tomorrow, i think we will get there. the record tomorrow for boston, 73. november, of last year, started cold. high temps only in the low 40's, early last year. and then this year, the exact opposite. with temperatures this afternoon into the 70's. here is why. last year at this time, the jet stream was pulling cold air out from canada. december was warm. then it flipped over to you know what in january, february, and march.

at least now going into the western side of north america. salt lake city, 36. rapid city, south dakota, 34. you jump on the other side of the jet stream, 60's and 70's up and down the eastern seaboard. a warm day. boston, 74 right now. norwood at 75. worcester, 70. fitchburg at 75. also, the dew point temperatures into the mid-50's. equally impressive. i mean, you can get some warm days in november. typically, the air is dry. with dew points in the 40's. when they talk about dew points, upper 50's to around 60, quite unusual. in fact, they are going to be even higher tomorrow. those dew points tomorrow will make a run into the lower 60's. that is almost unheard of for the month of november in new england. then as we work into saturday, those are dew point temps. down into to around 40. there have been clouds off to our southwest. they have been falling apart, though, as they move toward

and including this woman's daughter. >> she heard someone racing down the reed. they were racing. they seemed to be panicked. going real fast up the street. rorbt the district attorney's office doesn't know who the woman is. investigators spent the day searching the crime scene in a nearby neighborhood, hoping they will be able to figure it out. >> this is obviously a very concerning incident for this community. ly say that all of the investigative resources are being devoted to determining who the perpetrator or perpetrators of this crime are. >> reporter: in bridgewater, 7

this was after another car forced them off the road. they both suffered broken bones but are expected to be okay. a somerville woman getting a special guest from the officers who pulled her over. so when she arrived home, there were flowers waiting for her. nick emmons live for us in somerville. nick, help us understand how that happened. >> reporter:. yeah. really is. brings a smile to your face. especially given negativity surrounding police stations across the country. the mayor was out front of city hall here earlier today. did. lives matter poster. of course that, movement raising a lot of concerns about police stations and some actions across the country. but that was something to smile about and something the city wanted to get behind. this started on wednesday morning along route 16.

detail and she says this speeding down the road. she pulled her over for doing 40 in a 30 zone. walked up to her window, got her license and registration and said, hey, i'm going to let you off with a warning. as long as everything checks out with your license. the officer understood and let her off with a warning. that wasn't the only kind gesture. she followed up with flowers later on in the day. something she felt compelled to do. >> i was in a position to do something nice herler. ... for her. many people think, you know, once the traffic stop is over, that's it. they are forgotten. it is not like. that we take things and we carry it with us.

>> she came on the force in 2011. in 2012, she received an award for going to a burning building to rescue people out of the home. she is a pretty special officer. we have a lot of special officers on the somerville police department. >> reporter: pretty amazing stuff there. given flower situation here, trying to bring a smile and brighten someone's day. and then given her past, running into that burning building. as the mayor was talking about there. amazing. that is what the city says this police force is all about here. they want to get more officers like this one. >> jadiann: this winter, the m.b.t.a. unveiled their new snow-fighters that come with wider plows and snow-throwers to clear those tracks. "t" officials say they are inveing more than $83 million in new equipment. they are also promising to do a better job communicating

reject this theory of a bomb. caught on camera: fast burglary suspect crashing inside a florida restaurant. watch carefully here. footage shows the man falling right there. literally, through the ceiling. officers say the 30-year-old was trying to crawl down to get to the office that's where the restaurant's safe is. instead, he ended up over the dining room. customers held him down until and arrest him. a man rushes to the rest kuhl of a family trapped in a burning building. a mother forced to make a desperate decision. the man says nothing was going to keep him from catching that little girl. >> the majority of the heat was from about here up to the top. >> reporter: mark can't some reliving the events of sunday night. he was at home relaxing. he noticed a bright light on

then this. frantic screams for help coming from the next-door duplex. he found the place engulfed in flames. a family of five was trapped in the down-stairs apartment. a family of four upstairs. >> my husband usually knows what to do. he froze. he didn't move at all. i had to step into action. >> reporter: cheyenne james tapped into what she calls her momma skills. with the fire growing inside, she raced over to the second-story window. cheyenne settled her nerves and dropped her baby below. >> you realize that that child's well-being is in your hands. miss. nothing. >> reporter: the two-year-old was the next to drop. the passer-by caught him. cheyenne and her husband then jumped to safety themselves. this as the family down-stairs climbed out of their window. >> a fire doubles in size

chilly out west. warm on the eastern seaboard. pause of the jet stream looking like this. carving out a dip in that fashion there. that is where you find all your chilly air. i do think on sunday, this jet stream, at least temporarily, will position itself to shove the warm air out of the northeast. in terms of establishing a new pattern, a colder pattern, i don't have that in the forecast just yet. 74 in town right now. norwood at 75. dew point temperatures also above normal for this time of year. running in the middle and upper 50's. in fact, i think they will be higher tomorrow. added humidity through the air. leading to some cloudiness. the clouds are starting to build. as we work into the afternoon, skies may turn overcast. metro-boston. south of town, you will hold on to the clouds. even a couple of sprinkles possible. that is what we are seeing right now. connecticut and rhode island. if you have outdoor plans this afternoon, i would keep them.
