painkiller that's considere an opiate and is often mixed with heroin. police say evangelique tarmey died october 17th at the riviera hotel in rochester. police say she'd been living there with her mother and her mother's boyfriend and police have now arrested both of them. 41-year-old jazzmyn rood is charged with drug conspiracy and child endangerment. 41-year-old mark ross is charged with dispensing a controlled drug, resulting in death, witness tampering and falsifying evidence. and 31-year-old lesley aberleel is an acquaintance of those two and she was arrested at her home in sals -- salisbury, mass. she's charged with drug conspiracy, witness tampering and dispensing a controlled drug, rumming in death. now all three of those individuals will be arraigned tomorrow in court. and police say that this is the eighth opiate overdose death

here in rochester, new hampshire, this year. so that's the latest live from rochester, i'm buy, 7 -- i'm byron barnett, 7 news. a body washing ashore in a re340e9 part of plymouth. there you see the state and local police are both investigating and we have learned that this area can only be reached through duxbury. let's go out to 7's tv steve cooper to tell us what he knows. >> reporter: kim, that's one of the reasons that duxbury investigators, also the fire department and the harbor master are here. they're all assisting plymouth police in recovering that body late this morning. it was actually construction workers who made this startling discovery late this morning. police say the body washed ashore on the point. that's right next to the beach here and police say, well, they won't say tonight whether the body is that of a male or a female and how long they believe the body had been in the water. again police from plymouth are actually leading this investigation.

but we are told that state troopers assigned to the district attorney's office here in plymouth county are helping in this investigation as well. right now the cause of death remains a mystery at this hour and police are actually awaiting more information from the medical examiner's office for more details on exactly how this person actually died. and again people around here have been talking all day about the discovery of this body. it creates unsettling moments. everybody here anxious for answers. all we're being told by plymouth police investigators is they're still looking into this. we're live in duxbury tonight, steve cooper, 7 news. isis is claiming responsibility for two suicide bombings in southern by -- beirut. the blast damaged several buildings as well. the area has been seeing violence before. again isis claiming responsibility for suicide attacks in beirut, lebanon. the ntsb announcing it has

found the bridge deck of the cargo ship el faro that sank last month. the data recorder would have been attached to the deck. the el faro disappeared near the bahamas during hurricane joaquin. 33 people went down with the ship, including three crew members from massachusetts, as winthrop native keith griffin, and marriott wright. they were all three on board. we're following more news here today at 5:00. a charlestown man facing a judge in a road rage case. 20-year-old man pled not guilty. he's charged with assault agawam with a replica gun on 93 in somerville. police say that when they pulled him over, they found this replica gun with the orange tip that's usually on it painted black. so it looked more realistic. he's being held without bail, because of another assault case. opening statements are just days away now in the case of a local teenager, accused of

killing his danvers high school math teacher. the essex county district attorney says the jury is expected to be seated in the case of phillip chisholm by tomorrow. and that means the attorneys should be able to make their opening statements come monday. chisholm is accused of raping and killing 24-year-old colleen ritzer in a bathroom at danvers high in 2013. police found her body in the woods near the school. now to some wild weather tearing through the midwest and a striking sight in the skies over chicago. overnight lightning lit up the windy city. chicago not the only area that took a hard hit. the storm moved east, nine confirmed tornadoes touched down in iowa yesterday, destroying semi-truck. incredible, right. it had to be lifted to clear the roads and cars just tossed around like that as well. so we'll take a live look right now at our skyline. if you can see through that fog and mist, some areas seeing scattered showers. and as i said, a lot of fog to deal with but the rain is moving

on out. so when will we be moving into a drier and clearer pattern? welcome. chief meteorologist pete it all. he's live in boston. and i saw you just did a little bit of weather with the special guest, who is on a mission to do the weather forecasting in all 50 states. he's at the end of the road, right? >> reporter: familiar name. yeah. you might have heard of him. al roker was here a few minutes ago and we got to chat at bit. here's a little bit of that. look who just rolled in. >> hello, sir. how are you? i'm about ready to throw some tea into the river. thank you. >> reporter: al was here for just a couple of minutes as he threw some tea into the harbor with -- he gave me a nice flag. so it was really nice of him. but he had to get going. he's going up to new hampshire and eventually maine to finish his tour of new england. and of all 50 states. so we're here at the boston tea party museum. and this was the stop that he chose.

and the folks here were gracious enough to give us some nice tea and great cider, too. we're onboard the eleanor and the big anniversary of the boston tea party is coming up next month. and they'll have a live re-enactment and that's free to free to the public, too. thanks to them. it's kind of a raw night tonight. there's not much to talk about, other than you know it's chilly, it's cold. there's beauty in all weather, though. and eventually the payoff will be warmer temperatures here as we get into the overnight hours, believe it or not, our temperatures will actually go up overnight tonight. rain showers, small ones, but potent. i'll attest to that. and pushing off of marblehead in salem and also going through ipswich. we have a couple more that are pushing through marshfield and pembroke and plymouth right now. you can see that. but all this slowly pulls away. there might be more that pop up until about midnight and then eventually we'll clear things out late tonight as this weather system moves through. recall that this was in the midwest yesterday. so it's moving very quickly.

clothing to represent the injustices they say students of color face at universities nationwide. students, staff and faculty attended that demonstration. today's protests follow the recent events at the university of missouri, where the chancellor and president both resigned. students there protested the response to racially charged events. their efforts ignited protests all across this country. and the state education commissioner is recommending new standardized testing for students. the new tests would include items from both the mcass and parcc exams. there would also be specific questions developed for massachusetts. if approved by the board, the test would be given for the first time in the spring of 2017. cameras rolling during a shocking arrest in virginia. officers repeatedly using a stun gun on a man, while he is eventually on the ground here. and we can tell you that man later died. it was two and a half years ago,

but now the videos are being released that show what happened ryan schulteis has more of the investigation. >> reporter: hey, kim, police in virginia looking into the final moments of the man's life while he was in custody. police say they were bringing 46-year-old lynnwood lambert to the hospital, because he was ha loose thoughting. but officers say they tased him after he kicked out the cruiser's window and ran. police say he was then tased car. the department says he was found hospital. the man's sister is now suing the police, saying they used excessive force. >> i got up and went to the gravesite and i talked to my brother and i said i'm sorry. i'm so sorry for what they did to you, because i didn't know. >> there's no possible justification to taser a man shackled and restrained like this in the back of a police car. >> reporter: lambert's family is saying the use of the tasers caused his death. but the autopsy says the cause of death was cocaine intoxication. in the newsroom, ryan schulteis, 7 news.

all right. in the race for the white house today, more candidates making their runs official. filing paperwork up in new hampshire, where the first primary will be held. moment a, another g.o.p. candidate is trying to gain momentum from the last debate. he's charismatic, latino and third now in national republican polls. could 44-year-old hosni mubarak win the -- could 44-year-old marco rubio win the nomination? but rubio was in south carolina today, on a touchy subject immigration. >> criminals will be deported. people that have not been here long enough will be deported. we will enforce our immigration laws. that being said i don't think it's reasonable to say you're going to round up and deport 11 million people. >> reporter: frontrunner donald trump is saying the opposite. >> they are going back. they're going back. they're going back. >> reporter: just two years ago, rubio supported president obama's plan to let millions stay. today as ted cruz registered for the new hampshire primary, he called the what rubio now wants amnesty.

>> and if the republican party nominates a candidate who supports amnesty, along with hillary clinton, he will lose the general election. >> reporter: meanwhile, ben carson got hit with new questions. associated press reporting carson is a business partner of a pittsburgh dentist convicted of insurance fraud, but not imprisoned after carson vouched for him. i will continue to stand by him, said carson in a statement, that is what real friend dozen. a frontrunner in the spotlight along with a strong challenger. sop the next republican debate scheduled for december 15th in nevada. pill problems leading to a lawsuit. more than 100 women are suing the maker of a birth control pill, alleging incorrect packaging led to unwanted pregnancy. some of the plaintiffs in this case are asking the drug maker to pay for the cost of delivering and raising their children. our elizabeth noreika is here with more. >> reporter: yeah, kim. these women are asking for ms of dollars in damage. the lawsuit claims the pills were mislabeled and the order of the pills inside the packs was

reversed. so in case you don't know, here's how the pill works for the first three week, the medicine contains hormones and the last week is just a sugar pill. essentially you don't need to take that. when the pills were reversed, the women got pregnant. they are demanding the cost of delivering, raising and educating their unplanned children. the company voluntarily recalled the the mislabeled pill in 2011, but many packages had already been used. in the muss -- in the newsroom, elizabeth noreika, 7 news. president obama awarding the medal of honor to captain florent groberg. he was honored for his service in afghanistan in 2012. he saved his fellow soldiers by jumping on top of a suicide bomber. he severely injured his leg in that attack. the captain says the real heros are the ones who died in combat. and he hopes to honor them. >> i'm honored, i'm overwhelmed. but i hope to become the right carrier for them and to better

the faa laser focused. they're investigating two instances of lasers being pointed at news helicopters, including a chopper for new york city's local nbc news station. chopper 4 was on assignment when it was hit by the bright green beams of light. >> dangerous distraction recorded. and as 7's jadiann thompson shows us, the pilot was quick to report it to police. >> reporter: the incident took place wednesday night, when a chopper pilot for nbc station new york city. >> don't look at it. >> reporter: suddenly a bright green beam of light lit up the cockpit. >> just did it again. >> reporter: a laser nearly blinding chopper 4 reporter and his pilot as they hovered above brooklyn. >> you get hit in the face like, that in the eyes and you can go temporarily blind. >> reporter: he then spotted a group of men who appeared to be targeting not only the nbc chopper, but also a new york police department chopper called in to investigate. >> yeah. you think this is a joke, huh?

>> reporter: nbc cameras catching police arresting at least one man and detaining two others. it comes after a string of similar incidents at new york city airports earlier this year. >> we've got a green laser shooting at us, right off of left wing, about a mile out. >> reporter: experts say the problem is growing at airports across the country. in 2010, more than 2,800 reports. last year nearly 3,900. while the suspects appear to think it was all a joke, those inside the aircraft say it's no laughing matter. >> we're talking about a helicopter here that weighs almost two tons. i mean, imagine that coming down on your house. because the pilot's vision is impaired. even more serious is if it was a jetliner. >> reporter: jadiann thompson, 7 news. >> well, the incidents do come as the faa confirms three aircraft were targeted by a laser in the dallas area around the same time and that includes two commercial jets and the private business jet. it is a federal crime, punishable up to 20 years in prison with a $250,000 fine. all right.

the british are still angry about it. our forecast is a little drizzly and dismal right now. but it looks like we'll be turning things around tonight. temperatures will rise going through the night. and here's the facts. mostly rain from this month. yesterday still below average. almost an inch below. more dry weather aheaded. so the drought rolls on as the temperatures climb here in the next seven to ten days. our forecast is looking like a little wet weather coming through. now each individual shower puts down a quick downpour and, oh, look. here comes another one coming through watertown now and belmont. arlington they're getting wet. so i estimate that's t-minus 10 to 15 minutes before that arrives in boston, too. it comes down briefly. but it's almost moderate to heavy from time to time. you can see it right here in truro and provincetown. warm-up is in the works overnight tonight. that sets us up for a decent

friday forecast. back to 50 near 60 degrees. and tomorrow our temperatures should climb right close to 60 degrees before we cool things down going into saturday. and then tomorrow 57 to 62. the seven-day forecast showing sunshine for the weekend. but it starts pretty darn cold. temps in the upper 40s to near 50 degrees on saturday with a gusty wind. and then sunday it calming down. the warming is subtle at first. and then it eventually climbs as we go into the latter half of the week. we get back into the possibly 60s, upper 60s, maybe even near 70 degrees. getting close to record territory. that warmth is not going to be denieded. more will the fog i guess. we'll be back with more live reports. so much. give me a big hip, hip ha rye. >> very good. >> watch out for the red coats. they'll be coming any minute now. all right. moving on today.
