[ sound of gunfire ] >> reporter: french police now say the suspected terrorist killed or arrested in this raid overnight had weapons ready for the next attack. police say the raid stopped them just in time heavily armed s.w.a.t. teams report they came under a constant barrage of gunfire while fighting their way through a reinforced door. >> we could see the bullets. the laser pointed our way, the explosions, we could feel the building really shaking. >> reporter: police say it was not far from the scene of last week's suicide bombings and investigators were hoping to find abdel hamid abaaoud, the suspected mastermind of the terrorist attacks. police say one woman blew herself up and a man reportedly shot by a sniper. eight suspected terrorists were arrested but prosecutors say' president franc ois hollande is asking to extend france's state of emergency for three months

actions to search out talkerrer suspects. >> interpreter: the war against terrorism which itself has decided to bring war to us. >> reporter: meanwhile a french news agency is reporting a chilly find near the concert hall where nearly 100 were killed and the report says a cell phone was found in a trash can near the scene with a text message that read let's go. evidence of the cold-blooded planning that apparently preceded the attack. >> and while french authorities said they didn't catch abaaoud, there is a chance they may have killed him. investigators are still analyzing dna from the scene of the siege and haven't ruled out abaaoud may have been killed. dan hausle, 7news. >> also breaking as we told you at the top of the newscast, the islamic state has released a photo now, it says it shows the bomb used to bring down a russian plane in egypt. and it said the attack was in response to russia's air campaign against the group in syria.

police say the woman's body was burned but the exact circumstances surrounding her death are still unclear. >> reporter: police say they were called to this scene in dighton around 8:30 this morning where they found a woman's body partially clothed and burned. according to investigators, the body was lying on a dirt road right behind the hunter tailgated community for seniors. police say they believe the 47-year-old woman lived in the development. police towed away the woman's car and say not only was the woman's body burned but that the inside of her car was partially burned, as well. >> what we saw was the vehicle was parked and behind her -- behind the car -- she was behind the car about 15 feet from the car on her back. >> reporter: the medical examiner arrived on the scene this afternoon and removed the woman's body. police say they have not ruled out homicide or suicide. >> you treating this as a homicide, foul display. >> we're not sure at this time,

it's under investigation. >> so it's unclear whether it's a homicide or a suicide. >> under investigation. right, we're unclear of either one right now. >> and i'm very surprised because it's a very quiet neighborhood, nice place, nice people. >> makes no sense. but these days a lot of things don't make sense. >> police say they do know the identity of this woman, but they say they are not releasing it until her next of kin have been notified. that's the story live from dighton, i'm byron barnett, 7news. 7news now turning to video of a local math teacher's final moments. prosecutors showed a jury this video as teenager phillip chism stands accused of raping and killing her. colleen ritzer was his math teacher at danvers high school. 7's steve cooper live outside the courthouse in salem now. >> another pretty difficult day for the ritzer family but up until now prosecutors have basically been explained to the jurors what phillip chism had been up to on the day colleen ritzer was murdered inside

danvers high. but today through surveillance video, the jury saw him in action do you recognize that to be ms. ritzer? >> yes. >> reporter: her killer following right behind, chilling images captured in this of 2013. that's when one of her students, phillip chism, then 14, followed her into a girl's bathroom wearing white gloves and a hoody. prosecutors say in 11 minutes after school, he raped, strangled and stabbed her to death. what follows is video of chism walking down the hall, down the stairs, carrying what appeared to be clothing, then out the school door. but that's where carolyn quickly, sitting in her minivan, noticed a boy in the bushes changing and hiding the clothes. >> for the first time chism in a barely audible voice was in

the judge. yesterday the court said he refused to come out of his holding cell after the mourning recess saying he'd had it and he was about to explode. today after first saying he was waiving his right to be in the courtroom, he changed his mind. >> you want to be aren't? >> yes. >> reporter: jurors would also see the recycling barrel prosecutors say chism used to remove ritzer's body from the bathroom and saw images of the cleaned-up bathroom where ritzer lost her life. >> and so day 4 of testimony of this six-week long trial, expected to resume first thing in the morning. live in salem, steve cooper, 7news. boston police releasing a new series of music videos, looking for clues in unsolved murders. >> reporter: the series is called search for justice. police plan to feature a new case each month. you can see the videos on our web site at whdh.com. >> police went looking for a missing 16-year-old girl from duxbury.

they found her in the can company of an accused killer. 7's jonathan hall is live in halifax to tell us what's going on there. the alleged murderer works at a carver grocery store and tonight being held without bail after his arraignment. >> 32-year-old soy dang allegedly murdered a prostitute on monday and used the meet me social networking moop to get together with a duxbury teenager here at his home the very next day with the body still hidden in the closet. >> i'm gonna stay in shock -- i'm in a state of shock. >> reporter: the teenager's parents reported her missing, duxbury police pinged her phone and traced traced it to dang's home. >> halifax police found the girl at dang's apartment, brought her back here to the station and she went with duxbury police and during that ride the girl told the officer that dang mentioned

he needed to clean up some blood at his apartment. halifax police came back and discovered the woman's body wrapped in a blanket. prosecutors say dang agreed to a videotaped statement in which he admitted stabbing and strangling the prostitute after an argument over her price. >> he indicates he's upset with the quality of attention that he is getting. he sits in front of her dying body for approximately 40 minutes. police removed evidence from the house until 4:00 this morning and detectives also question the neighbors. >> open the door and asked about any commotion the night before and he said, no, i didn't hear anything. >> police have not yet identified the victim, who may be from the revere area. that's where he allegedly picked her up on monday. they are working to notify her family at this point. live in halifax, jonathan hall, 7news. >> police say a stray bullet

it does that, very serendipitous thing will happen, low pressure will form on that cold front. watch the l form. that's big because it's doing a couple of things. it's slowing the front down, increasing the chances for downpours tomorrow night, which i'm seeing and it also gives us a little bit more rainfall. because you get the downpour and you start to talk about closer to an inch. maybe a little bit over an inch. not seeing the threat for thunder but i'm not gonna say never in that respect. here it is. showers tomorrow in the afternoon. could come to us early in the afternoon because you have a southeast wind feeding up moisture against higher terrain here and it's easy to create a shower. some of the models do put down a thunderstorm or two. the temperatures will be mild tomorrow night, in the 50s tomorrow night, for lows, so we have something to work on, and then a quick exit as we go through friday morning between 5:00 and 8:00.
