family knows awfully well. reporter: in the middle of the night someone snatched hreupbd/en from her home. a frantic telephone call to her mother. within minutes, police searched the neighborhood. >> i could see out my window police cars going up the street police cars going up the street. i went to get the fews paper and found out that a little girl is missing from lincoln avenue. reporter: the toddler was found naked. >> i said "i think i just saw a little baby at the side of the road. "she told me i was crazy. i said it could have been a doll but i'm going to spin around. reporter: driving to work, they spotted the toddler sitting in a pile of leaves. >> her head was down and she was shivering. so i took my coat off, put it around here and brought her into the car. >> the cross bis said hreupbd/en told her their name, but the 2 -year-old didn't say

too much else. >> she was alert, but had a big contusion on her head. a big red mark and it looked like someone had shaved her head. reporter: sources say hreupbd/en had cigarette burns on her body. the 2 -year-old was taken to the hospital in boston as investigators converged on her home and the wooded area where she was found to find out who could have done this to her. search was focused on a 28 -year-old babysitter recently fired by the family. the babysitter is being questioned by police and is cooperating with investigators. police being tight-lipped about the entire investigation. they will not say whether the babysitter was a person of interest in this case. they only will say they brought her in for questioning. understandable neighbors in the quiet community are shocked and sadened, such a

disturbing skraoeupl/ crime, our night team continues are rally tonight. reporter: police tell us they were about to issue an amber alert when the little girl was found. she was found here in rally, a mere 8 miles from her home. when close to 30 investigators, local police, state troopers and undercover officers descended on newberry road, people living along the heavily wooded street that is normally quiet knew something was up. >> bob morris was out for a walk when he saw a couple stop their car on the side of the road. he thought they were lost. >> they were looking around and they were there for awhile and all of a sudden everybody came in behind them. reporter: it wouldn't take take long for word to spread that the little girl who was missing was discovered on a pile of leaves in their neck of the woods.

was involved. reporter: new jersey governor and presidential candidate chris kristi finally landed in boston after a person was kicked off his flight in san francisco for taking cell phone pictures of the flight crew. >> i'm proud that folks on my staff observed it. all of the credit goes to them, not to me. reporter: the passenger was taking cell phone pictures of the crew. one of the aides saw the man's phone. they said they saw the cell phone with wires sticking out. the passenger was taken off the plane and the flight was delayed. >> i did see a lot of kphegs/, attendants were going back and forth and kristi, himself was in first class, 2 rows behind me. seemed very calm. it wasn't clear what was happening. reporter: christie's campaign releaseed a statement,

shooting. >> i heard 6 shots, one after another, "bam, bam, bam, bam, bam ". reporter: george ortiz lives nearby, saying he was takeing a nap when he heard gunshots. police say several people were in a car when someone outside of the car opened fire, killing one person and saors/ one person and saorsly injuring another. >> my roommate knocked on the door and said there was some kid on the ground. we went out and saw a really young kid about 16, laying on the ground. and there were people on the streets and they told us that on this side of the street that happened. reporter: a scary sight people like george and others in the community won't soon forget. reporter: does it make you feel unsafe? >> i guess i'm still in shock thinking about it.

reporter: they describe the suspect as a white male. if you have you any information, go ahead and give the police a call. also from the night team. jurors seeing nor video evidence in the trail of a teen accused of murdering his teacher in danvers. he is seen wearing a mask as he rolls a recycleing bin out of a woman's bathroom. investigators say that's how he moved his teacher's bloody body to the woods in the bin. some of his classmates took the stand, talking about his movements and seemingly unaffected demeanor the day she was found. she was killed in 2013. her body was found in a wooded area behind the high school. covered in leaves. she was his teacher. trial continues next week.
