that box truck blocking the left lane. it's right near the median of the highway. you can see a wrecker has moved in front of the truck down and median. that's good news as far as progress is concerned. it's creating a huge backup on the highway. state police say the problem is that if they move the truck, they have to close even more lanes. this is video from a little bit earlier this afternoon. obviously you can see how extensive the damage was there. so at this hour and with the holiday traffic, they don't want to close anymore lane than they absolutely have to. they are going to leave the truck there until traffic settles down a that's what they are telling us as of right now. that truck and blue car collided earlier. as you can see the truck wound up on top of that small hatchback. this could have been much worse seeing this video. what we know right now is no one was hurt.

traffic again at a standstill on route 128. look at all those up for miles. state police warning people right now. they expect lanes will hours. frustration and the delays for all the evening. we're going to keep you effect your travels throughout the evening. for now i'm live in the news room. you have to imagine some people are leaving a little early for the for more on how this accident is impacting roads across the greater boston area, let's check in with joe stapleton. >> taking a look at route 128 southbound on the left-hand side of the screen there from burlington all the way down to route, bairlg moving the whole way down. those headlights are caught there down past route 9. we're kind of stuck in this holding position here all the way back into burlington. back towards those maps again getting a look

right now at 128, also down through the milton area, the expressway has been rough going through braintree as well. we have been dealing with delays across the section of the state. the other problem spot has been the pike out towards route 290. it has now been cleared but still that sizeable backup. i'm joe stapleton, 7 news. let's go to brandon gunnoe. what can you tell us? reporter: i can tell you we're on 128 northbound and everything was fine. we're doing the speed limit, a good 65 miles per hour and then right of you get up to dedham, you hit a stop. right now it's stop and go. moving. once you hit dedham if you're on 128 heading north, it just really hits you. you can see it right now, all the lanes are clogged up. we are moving so that's good news but it's certainly at a crawl and go.

if you can avoid this area, it's going to be tough. that's the latest behind the wheel of the traffic tracker. brandon gunnoe, 7 news. >> stay up to date with our 7 news app. can you see a map of the worst traffic jams happening right now. and we are staying on top of some breaking news tonight. three people hit in a parking lot in natick. it happened outside a burlington coat factory. reporter: i can tell you at this moment exactly what's going on. we were told by police that three men were standing outside of harbor freight tool when a car driven by an elderly woman hit them. one handicap those men has passed away. a woman driving a white buick in her 80s somehow lost control of the vehicle and ended up going into the building hitting these three men. two were injured and taken to umass worcester, the other one, as i said, has passed away.

p.m. off of speen street in the same plaza with burlington coat factory is. they are recreating what happened out here. they are towing the buick that was involved away and could be trying to figure out what happened that caused that eight-year-old woman to lose control of her car. kimberly bookman, 7 news. also breaking tonight, a dorchester man wanted for murder. he's suspected of killing a woman and leaving her burned body near some train tracks in bridgewater. steve cooper live in brockton tonight with what we know right now. steve? reporter: this looks like a big break in the case for investigators. this is a three week old murder mystery that rattled residents in bridgewater and tonight police are releasing and circulating this wanted poster. they say the search is on for the suspect. 21 days after the savage murder of ashley bortner, investigators

gather for a late day news conference releasing this wanted poster identifying 43-year-old fernando owens of dorchester as the suspect they are searching for in connection with the death of the 29-year-old victim from new jersey. >> she had been gagged by a towel in victim's clothing, wrapped in a blanket and hog tied with an electrical extension cord. reporter: the district attorney says owens murdered bortner a day after his 21-year-old son dominick was shot to death in dorchester believing bortner had a hand in his son's murder. >> he believed that miss bortner somehow had a hand in the shooting death of his son. reporter: this husband and wife julian and shannon squires of manchester, new hampshire are already behind bars, now charged with accessories after the fact. police say cell phone calls and evidence found in the home in dorchester link him to bortner's murder. >> we continue to work

shot down a russian war plane over syria and now is threatening to fight against isis. leaving france on high alert, vowing a better coordinated war on isis. >> it must be destroyed and we must do it together. >> we need a joint response. reporter: hollande goes to moscow this week. a russian war plane was shot down in syria overnight. u.s. allies say the jet was protecting pro western rebels and was fired on after two warnings. two pilots bailed out. president obama begged the russians and leaders in turkey to talk. >> and take measures to discourage any kind of escalation. reporter: as the french step up their air war, there's no agreement on whose ground force wills fight isis.

they did agree to share airline passenger lists and to get other nations too. meantime the president warned americans against fear and to take in 10,000 syrian refugees. >> all of us must show that america is strengthened by people of every faith and every background. reporter: france has agreed to take in 30,000 refugees. both presidents agree not to postpone that sending a message to isis that they are not afraid. ryan schulteis, 7 news. the capital in belgium remained on high alert after the government is trying to face an imminent threat. security measures have been in place for days there. belgium's crisis center said yesterday the alert level would only change if there's a significant break through in this case. paris investigators are still questioning a man linked to the terror attacks. the man was detained for housing the suspected

mastermind in the attacks. police say the mastermind died. the landlord is the only person in france facing potential charges linked to these attacks. prosecutors did say before he died in that raid he was planning another attack on paris in the city's financial district. security in new york city is high in advance of the macy's thanksgiving day parade. police are preparing for the crowds. the fbi issuing a warning for new york about people wanting to paris. here in boston there's this major event taking place for the holiday. but police have seen an increase in calls. 7's jonathan hall live in boston to tell us more about that. a festive atmosphere here tonight as people go about their business doing some shopping despite the ever present threat of terror attacks world-wide and police say that is as it should be because there is no imminent threat. people should be out having fun but police say they should also

been vigilant. reporter: the paris attacks have the western world on edge and on guard. boston's no different. the police commissioner has his staff listening to other law enforcement agencies for signs of trouble. >> they work very closely with new york, with washington, d.c. where we're having an officer assigned to national operation center but we have no threat here. doesn't mean we're not prepared. reporter: boston police are getting for calls for thin like suspicious packages and bags and security remains high in public buildings that could be targets for terror. >> we've been out at the different sports venues. we've been all over the city and going to keep that up. reporter: state police say they also will be keeping close watch on public events like last night's patriots game and there will be more troopers out on the roads. >> upped our patrols. we're being hyper vigilant about any kind of situations we encounter on the highway reporter: people looking forward

with our pats coverage. reporter: turn out fans of both teams had a problem with the guy that's whistled while they worked. >> that inadd vert edge whistle, i'm so mad about that. it was ridiculous. >> they were discombobulated all night. you know, couldn't get it together. reporter: even the announcers agree the officiating crew had a bad night. a ref's whistle appeared to wipe out a great chance for new england to build a big deal. >> there was a whistle there. >> it's close. >> after the game nfl officials admitted the inadvertent whistle was a mistake but once that mistake was made they say it was the right call to give the pats the catch but not the td. >> everyone was very confused and angry. >> bills fans had reasons for their own complaints like when officials denied this

new england sink a little closer to home as we go into tomorrow and it also looks like as we get into thursday this mat of clouds will start to form and kind of blot out the sun. so that's not a very bright day thanksgiving but we are milder. 45 to 54 degrees, partly sunny and then thursday it looks like a mostly cloudy skies. travel weather the only day that would be a little iffy and it's not even that is saturday with the morning wet weather and showers and also looks like some wind on saturday morning with that colder air coming in. a drop from 62 to 46 between friday and saturday. monday, tuesday we get back into more wet weather.
