protester did clash at one point. with police. police officers pulled away a few people from the crowd not clear whether they made any arrests. so the initial video just released is graphic and disturbing. we've chosen just to show a portion of video. here you see the teenager walking in middle of road when officers approach him one i ever opens fire. so activists have fought for release of this video for more than a year now. tonight officer who fired shots charged with murder nick emmons joins losive in newsroom with the latest. yes adam until to you that officers jason van dyke still worked for the police department. but in a limited duty position, that's what they were calling it. the police superintendent now says van dyke is no longer being paid by the police department. >> the final moments of his life or tough to watch. but judge ordered that the dash cam video we shown. we hold our police officers to a high standard.

obviously in this case jason van dyke violated both the standards of professionalism that comes with being a police officer. but also basic moral standards that bind their community together. officer jason van dyke was tuesday. chicago officials have been preparing for demonstrations ahead of the video's release. people began marching downtown within hours. angry. people have a right to protest. speech. but they do not have a right to commit criminal acts. van dyke shot mcdonald who was armed with a 3 inch knife, a total of 16 times. firing at him even after he hit the ground. >> officer van dyke was on the scene for less than 30 seconds. before he started shooting. he began shooting approximately six seconds after getting out of his vehicle. van dyke's attorney says his client feared for his safety. >> this is case that can't tried in the streets.

website and our 7 news mobile and tablet apps too. also from the night team a deadly drive in a natick parking lot. police say the driver of this car lost control hitting three people killing one of them. tonight, we're learning more about the driver, what led up to the deadly crash outside the burlington coat factory. kimberly bookman live in natick with what police are saying tonight. kimberly. police say an elderly woman was behind the wheel of the car. witnesses say she was driving a very fast speed when she plowed into three people. you can see remnants of this fatal crash right here in this building behind me with huge chunk taken out. >> a lot of mayhem. doug smith found himself in middle of a crash that would claim one man's life and hurt two others. he was manage direct tire and auto service in plaza across from natick mall. >> when around 2:00 p.m. he says this white buick sped by hopped a curb when art born and hit three people in it's path. >> bodies on the ground with people bleeding.

people with broken bones. it was bad. police say the driver is an elderly woman in her late 80s. they don't know what caused her to crash into three innocent pedestrians but they say her car continued on. hitting corner of harbor freight tool store before coming to stop where shopping carts are stored. so vehicle ended up going up on the curbing. through the vegetation there and ended up going through the alley. the victims all men, two in their 70s, another in his 40s. they didn't know each other, some were shopping. one was an employee for will you mouse armored car parked out front. we were out trying to do what we could for you know, for people but they were hurt so badly. one man did not make it. another is in critical condition. police is a driver is distraught and hurt too. >> it's just unfortunate that this happened to these poor people that were out shopping. especially this time of the year. >> and police have not released involved. they say they continue to investigate and so far have not pressed new charges.

dangerous al 40e78 a stranger breaks a window breaks into a house with teen inside. she had to quickly hide when man climbed through the window. but she kept her cool. helped police catch the guy night team elizabeth noriega spoke to teenager and liz live in brockton with a brave story. >> guys, we're right up road from where this incident happen boy is this girl brave. tonight she is sharing her story. he came in 16-year-old haley morris talking about at terrifying moments when a spranger broke into her brockton home whenly while she was inside. i closed door hadded to pray and sit there and hope i was going to be okay. my heart was pounding. i was so scared. i was just like what's going on. i don't know scared but sensible. haley looked outside and didn't recognize the man knocking on her door.
