spreading eastbound. they'll help booey the temperature a little bit, boost it overnight and set us up for a milder day tomorrow. it will still be mild with clouds around, no travel issues for tomorrow or for the foreseeable future. maybe on saturday, a few puddles of rain. more to come. stay with us. police say they arrested two men accused of attacking several people at an auto shop. suzanne is live with more >>reporter: adam, they say this was a vicious attack that was planned out and plotted. police say these two men went in with a hammer and crowbar intent on hurting their victims. police arrested the two 21 year olds. the two went into an auto body repair shop on main street intent on hurting a 19-year-old that works there. they also attacked the owner and off.

walking on main street and three police cruisers were surrounding him. the victims did have bruises and cuts but they will be okay and the two suspects will be in court on friday to be arraigned. also from the night team, a stunning revelation from the family former nfl great frank gif order. >>reporter: they released this information in hopes of advancing research and continuing discussion about the link between football and traumatic brain injury. he's the most famous former nfl player linked to cte. they released a statement saying our suspicions that he was suffering from head trauma were

his condition as a cte. he played for the giants in the '50s and early '60s. towards the end of his career, he suffered a major hit that landed him in the hospital. he was 84 years old and died of natural causes. but the death of former nfl players had been tied to cte >>man: 87/91 deceased former nfl players displayed cte like evidence. >>reporter: with this family's announcement comes one day when the nfl held a mandatory announcement to discuss treating players with concussions. >>man: he wasn't going to take himself out of the game. and his head snap back and hit the turf just like frank's did 55 years ago. >>reporter: nfl commissioner roger responded to today's revelation saying we appreciate the family's desire to help the

medical community understand more about cte and we are grateful for their support of the league's efforts to improve safety in our game. just last week, former players who were appealing nfl's $1 billion plan to address concussion related injuries, asked the court to reject the idea because it doesn't adequately show cte press obama is weighing in in on the deadly police shooting of the chicago teenager. like many americans, i was disturbed by the footage of the 17-year-old. this thanksgiving, i ask everybody to keep those who suffered tragic loss this their prayers. yesterday, they released the video of the dash cam. he was shot 16 times last october. the officer was on scene for less than 30 seconds before firing shots.

he faces murder charges. this incident was not proper use of deadly force. the officer's order shows 20 complaints from citizens including unnecessary contact and drawing his weapon. four of those cases remain open a man was killed after a driver lost control and hit a group of people. tonight, loved ones are talking about this family tragedy and they have a message for the driver who caused the crash >>reporter: we talked to the victim's pregnant daughter. she talked about her dad coming out of this store when a car popped the curb, hit him, and went into a wall before landing down that alleyway. he always had a project, tinkering on the house, the yard, the cars, that's likely

what brought him and his friend down tuesday. >>woman: it's a toy store for them you could say. >>reporter: just as the men were leaving the store, an elderly driver sped around the corner, hit both of them and an employee. mcdonald was the most badly hurt. >>woman: he went to the hospital, they worked on him for over an hour and his injuries were so severe that they couldn't save him. >>reporter: the husband, dad of six, grandpa to five with three more on the way, a navy vet, and spent years working as an engineer, gone just daying before thanksgiving. >>woman: i was so excited to be coming up for thanksgiving. from my dad. and i'm not going to get that >>reporter: police have suspended the elderly driver's license but have not yet charged her.

mcdonald's pregnant daughter is okay with that >>woman: we're taught to forgive. i'm sure she's having her own guilt of knowing that she caused a death and injured others. she's probably hurting inside as much as we are. >>reporter: and police tell us they are reviewing surveillance video from the coat factory. in the meantime, two other victims are in the hospital. one in stable condition, one in serious condition. the driver is also being treated. sky hd over the scene of a dangerous crash in med ford today. a dump truck slammed into the side of a home. he missed a woman before hitting an oncoming car. the truck went into the house. and police say an 87-year-old woman was sleeping inside the home at the time. thankfully, no one was seriously injured but both drivers were shaken up.

in an office building nearby. cited. the women are accused of selling stolen goods at a store for discounted prices. they counted 5 thousand items valued at more than $100,000. officers arrested the women investigation. they knowingly bought items from shoplifters and requested certain things to sell at their store the pats are ready to take on the broncos. >> but today, brady said he's not too worried. our sports director is here with what brady had to say. >> no one outside of new england is feeling bad for the patriots. at 10-0 they're getting zero sympathy around the league. they're seeing this as an opportunity to hit brady.

the driver walked away, once the dust settled he was checked out but is expected to be okay. hey, our temperatures over the last three days, below normal. that's brought our average for the month, down. place. still warm, it's falling and it's now below 2011 which is also a pretty mild november. 39 in boston. we've been playing with that temperature back and forth. at logan airport it's 39. 45 up in swamp scott. wow, mild night. what's going on? suburbs cooling off. skies remaining clear. we have winds stirring right along the coast line and that will keep the temperatures at least near 45. but, everybody gets a little bit of a bounce once that wind starts to erode some of the cold through the night and also

clouds move in. we have a few of those coming together now and that doesn't boat very well for a bright thanksgiving but it's not raining, snowing, storming. 40 in the morning turns to 54 and then 5z 5. we hold those numbers through the afternoon. overall, a lot milder than last year. thousands without power in maine. we had rain and snow, that was a nasty year last year. 39 in 2013. we're warmer than all of these temperatures tomorrow in the mid 50s. we've had cold blast and warm weather. '96 it was 72 degrees. '91 two and a half inches of snow. remember those years? some of us do. maybe not the 1800s but you get the idea. tomorrow, those clouds will be around but they slowly erode from the picture on friday and we wait for this front to cross.
