some light showers around. we will deal with that tomorrow. especially the first two-thirds of the day. 62 in boston. how about this, though? enjoying late november weather. lower 60's. you don't see it too often. the record high in boston, 72. far off from that. still very nice warm day. for this time of year. strong southerly wind. southwesterly wind giving us the warm air. it is also active out there. hold on to your hats. that you have southwesterly wind at times gusting over 20 miles an hour. and we have watched more and more sunshine emerge across much of southern new england. over the last few hours. quite a bit of sunshine here this morning. down across the cape. all right. off to the north and west. this is what we are talking about. the front in southern canada now. this will continue to sag off to the south. there is precipitation. it won't be pronounced. that is the good news there. you can see this extends all the way down into the ohio valley. at this point.

low 60's in southern new england now. you look back to sudbury, ontario, 21 degrees. much colder behind this front. once those winds turn back out of the north, forget about the 60's. we won't even get out of the 40's over the weekend. again, we expect those showers. light to moderate. inch of rain. if not less than that across the area tomorrow. saturday night, into sunday, drying it out. we will keep that cold weather around as we go through early here are some of the rainfall totals. one model showing close to a quarter of an inch of rain. again, many of us have a tenth of an inch or so. tremendous amount of heavy so breezy and mild this afternoon. sunshine and clouds mixed together. 60-65. temperatures still mild. we have a chance... wind direction still out of the southwest.

way. >> jadiann: this made for a very scary situation. as highway police chase the suspect, they knew he was trouble. wanted for killing his girlfriend early monday. 150 miles to the north in troy, new york. dash cam video shows several cars engaging in the high-speed pursuit, threading through traffic as commuters pulled off to the side. >> it was definitely an insane chase. >> jadiann: one man was driving north on the interstate approaching a gas station near the george washington bridge. suddenly, the chase was coming right towards them. the pursuers crossed from the southbound side to the northbound side, going against traffic, through the gas station. >> i had to get my breath a little bit. i was a little, you know, unnerved, you know, gut

reaction, just get out of the way. you learn that, you know, the butcher cars or whatever. i don't know. ... bumper cars or whatever. i don't know. >> nancy: the pursuit continued all the way to the new jersey turnpike. a traffic jam at the tollbooth forced the suspect to stop. a cluster of police took him safely to the ground. and police say the suspect is facing multiple charges now. >> jadiann: investigators think a mass i fire at a historic restaurant in arizona may have been arson. a large fire broke out in the bathroom at the buffalo chip saloon and steakhouse. fire crews extinguished the flames. another fire broke out two hours later. investigators don't know if the fires were related. they were headed for a galaxy away, instead, these star wars toys ended up thrown across the highways in oklahoma. the track or the-trailer with

another gun here and arrested a 27-year-old man accused of breaking into a home. both men are facing several charges. police are still searching for the victim of a shooting in chelsea after a trail of blood was found. witnesses and police think someone was shot after the blood and gun casings were spotted outside an apartment building. authorities followed that trail, looking for someone who may be hurt. >> whomever was shot forced their way into the building. there was a trail of blood going up to the second floor. from there, the person disappeared. they weren't able to get access into any of the apartments. >> nancy: police checked in with leekal hospitals. they still have not found the investigators are searching for more clues at the crime >> jadiann: a former millis police officer charged with staging a shoot-out has been found dead. this is video of brian johnson in court earlier this year. police found his body at his home yesterday morning. they do not suspect foul play. johnson was facing charges in connection with the alleged

shoot-out and a false bomb threat at millis high school. prosecutors say that threat came in on the same day the former officer was accused of shooting at his own police cruiser and blaming it on another driver. johnson had been out on bail since his arrest. >> jadiann: an n.b.a. star getting into a fight outside a bar in boston. the philadelphia 76er was seen pushing a man to the ground and throwing a punch on wednesday. earlier in the evening, the 19-year-old rookie who was center stage at td garden after the sixers lost a close game to the celtics, that fight reportedly broke out when hecklers yelled at okafor. the team is aware of the incident and now working to gather more information. police say they need your help tracking down the man in this surveillance video. they say he stole a jimmy fund donation jar from a.j.'s market in norwood on thanksgiving. that money goes to children's cancer research. police want anyone with any information to give them a

call. and there is more news today. the transit police sergeant who nearly died during a shoot-out with the boston marathon bombers made a special announcement on thanksgiving. dave donahue told twitter followers he and his wife are expecting. a special holiday season for one family in massachusetts. they are spending their first thanksgiving as an official family. how this family of three is giving their thanks for their full house. thanksgiving at the vieira house can get crowded. there are five kids. the vieiras adopted nicole six years ago. they began fostering brother and sister jonathan and jonah lisa, then they found out nicole's younger brother and sister needed a home the family has been together for a couple of years now. last week something special happened.

to a craigslist ad. her husband turning to the internet to find a new kidney. wupg stranger saw the post and decided to act on it. the 2-year-old says she wasn't comfortable at first with her husband posting a craigslist ad to find her a kidney donor. >> i'm a private person. out this story. i also didn't want people to feel bad for me. >> reporter: she felt helpless. she needs dialysis three times a week. he figured a post on craigslist was worth a shot. somehow that post popped up when glen was searching for construction supplies. >> out of no where. there was an ad that said "looking for a brave person." and it just... not that i thought i was a brave person. i was wondering what they were looking for. >> reporter: it hit home. his first wife jessica also had kidney failure. she waited two years for a transplant. she received a kidney and

her body later rejected the organs. she died in 2011. >> i felt my pain and my struggles... our struggles and our family's struggle with the kidney. >> i definitely think it was a sign. >> reporter: glen is is a match. surgery is scheduled for tuesday. he hopes this story encourages more people to become organ donors. >> nancy: britain's prince harry visiting children in africa offering his support. the hospital was designed by a charity. the prince co-founded. many of the children there suffer from h.i.v. >> the children's center will enable us to reach many more of these children than was previously possible. we will increase the number of those attending camps from 400 to 1rx 500 per year. >> nancy: harry greeted some of the children after giving the speech and watched a special dance performance.

we are driving home this cold front through southern new england tomorrow morning. once those winds turn out of the north, it will be hard for us to get out of the 40's. i do expect it to be dry this evening. however, late overnight tonight toward daybreak tomorrow, this cold front will spark some showers across the area. much of the rain light. it will be enough to keep things on the damp side for a little while tomorrow. tendency, late afternoon into the evening. we are not expecting a lot of rain. not talking tremendous amounts of rain. enough to keep things damp, a little cool at times. sunday, dry. cold weather prevailing. temperatures in the 40's once again. big ice-storm, kansas city, down through portions of texas. this is the dividing line.
