started near a planned planned parentho facility. people in the nearby businesses say they heard more than 20 gunshots and then not long after that they were told by police to take shell -- shelter and stay where they were. colorado springs police called in the fbi as everybody continues to search for the gunman. we are staying on top of the story and we will bring you more information. there is breaking news from boston police. they say a victim has come forward in the fight. the star nba rookie jahlil okifor was involved in an altercation happening in boston. it happened after the sixers lost on wednesday night. the victim tells police that he was trying to talk to a group of girls. they weren't interested in talking to him. when the victim stepped in the basketball player charged him and punching him leaving him with a cut above his eye. okifore talked about it for

>> the way he did it on thanksgiving was worse. >> this convenience store clerk said he briefly turned his back after ringing up a pepsi and lottery ticket for the customer when, look, the man steals the the -- steels it from the counter and hides it. as this clip was run on tv it caught the eye of a mother who son. >> she saw him and told him about it and it was the right thing to do was turn himself in. >> a day after taking a jar with a mere $84 to fund research for children's cancer the 44-year-old, a fully employed nurse, went to police and fessed up. >> he said it was a stupid thing to do and he didn't know why he did it. >> for the local shoppers the cruel crime is personal. >> i am a cancer patient.

who collect money for causes such as mine. he had to be desperate to take it. >> that suspect was arraigned in court. he was ordered held on $500 cash bail and to stay away from that store. reporting live, 7 news. police in lester are looking for an accused shoplifter today. they say the woman seen in this surveillance video stole coffee and jeans from a local store. the crime allegedly happened several weeks ago, but they are just releasing the video. anyone who may know who this is is asked to call police. now new video out of orleans as we get a look at a med student who was shot trying to help someone. the suspect was seen manhandling a woman and then the victim tries to step in and help. the suspect hops out of the car and holds him up at gun point shooting him in the stomach. the gun jammed saving the student's life. >> i saw him being shot in the

i also saw him go to finish the job. i closed my eyes waiting for the sound and i didn't hear anything. >> so scary. peter gold was upgraded to stable condition and cane will be in court on december 11th facing multiple charges including attempted murder. chicago police made an arrest in the death of a 9-year-old boy. police say lee was lured into an alley and then shot because of his family's relationship with a gang member. officials say they arrested cory morgan. he has been charged with first degree murder in this case and police say they are still looking for two other people who were involved in this child's murder. a security scare at an airport in utah. a man facing criminal charges after police say he stole a boarding pass and then hoped on a plane. it happened on november 5th. the woman left her boarding pass at a kiosk and that's when a guy took it and tried to get on the plane and then used her ticket and his own id to hop the flight. there was not a real risk for other passengers. >> there really was no risk in

the sense that the individual process. >> airline agents realized the mistake when the woman who bought the ticket tried to check in. the guy was arrested and could face a third-degree felony charge. following more news of paul walker's father suing porche over the crash that killed his son. he says the porche the late actor was riding in in 2013 lacked certain safety features that could have saved his son's life. walker's daughter already filed a similar lawsuit. police say speed was to blame for the fatal crash. and an inspiring story from pennsylvania. a man turned to the internet to try to find a kidney for his wife. one stranger saw the post and he decided to act on it. nancy chen has this heartwarming story. >> the 32-year-old said she wasn't comfortable with her husband posting a craigslist ad to find her a kidney donor. >> i am a private person, and i didn't like the idea to put out the story. i also didn't want people to

feel bad for me. >> she felt helpless. she went into kidney failure due to an ought tee immune -- autoimmune illness and needs dye dialysis three times a week. he figured it was worth a shot. >> out of no where there was an ad that said looking for a brave person. not that i thought was a brave better person, but i wondered what they were looking for. >> when he found it was for kidney it hit home. his wife waited two years for a transplant. she received a pancreas from a cadaver, but her body rejected the organs and she died in 2011. >> he felt my pain and high struggles i guess. our struggles and our family struggle with the kidney. >> i definitely think it was a sign. >> glen is a match and surgery is scheduled for december 1st. they hope their story

greek island we meet a syrian refugee. he asked us not to show his face out of fear for his family. >> it is not good. it is more bad. >> the man left home and walked across the border to turkey and then got on a raft. trying to escape the place he says is no longer home. >> if you go there may be bombs and maybe snipers. you are not safe. if you are going to your home you are die. >> he paid thousands of dollars to a smuggler. leaving him with the growths on his body. his family is still in syria. he is desperate to find work so he can pay to have him join him. the united nations estimates more than four million people have left since 2011.

starting a civil war. the crisis has opened safe havens for isis and isis sympathizers. and in the wake of the paris terrorist attacks word that one of the terrorists posed as a syrian refugee is causing concern. giving pause to some like charlie baker who is leery about welcoming them to massachusetts. >> syria is a very complicated place. what i'm looking for is guidance from the feds and the safety and security of the people of massachusetts is my biggest priority. >> it is a tragic scene. bodies washing up on shore. women, children and families forced to sleep in the streets. the island over run by refugees. >> we had over 4,000 refugees passing through this year. >> that's intense? >> that's a strain on resources. >> a local nonprofit is trying to steer housing and funding for many of the migrants who frankly just pull up here on shore right on their boats. but they say until greece or europe addresses the problem,

nasa astronaut scott kelly and lindgren spending the holiday in space. they celebrated with turkey and football, right out of a bag there. but at zero gravity, of course. the thanksgiving menu on board the international spacestation included turkey and candied yams and rehydrated corn and potatoes au-gratin. they remembered to do thanks before their meal too. >> we wanted to wish uh warm and happy thanksgiving. we are incredibly thankful for the opportunity to be up here on the international spacestation working and living in this amazing orbing laboratory. >> how do they do it? he will be back in a couple weeks and kelly will return in a few months wrapping up his year in space. >> one on a full belly you are flipping around. wouldn't you get sick to your stomach? >> you would think. >> and i thought the microphone was a beer, but

but at 6:30 that will happen. us. it was a repeat of our thanksgiving leftovers. a mild day yesterday. and then mother nature put them back in the microwave. you know it is always a little too hot when you pull it out of the microwave. you can see we are not in the top five list. i don't think we will wrap up the month in the top five, but certainly the top 10. it has been a very mild month for us. the current temperature is still close to 60 as adam mentioned. 59 in boston right now. maybe just a light jacket or a sweater as we head through the evening hours. it is gonna take awhile for the temperatures to fall. we have a breeze with us and that will keep the temperatures mild out of the south, southwest. cover with us. and when you have the cloud cover, it is like tucking yourself in to a jacket or sweater to keep your body heat in. the cloud cover keeps that heat from escaping back into the atmosphere. now, we've been getting that mild air that's been working in from the southwest, but

that's all about to change as this front makes its way through and it has been what i have been calling a ninja front. they are chopping temperatures in half. we get the colder air dropping in from the north and the northwest through tonight and into tomorrow. so the temperatures -- this is tricky, but it will continue to fall into tomorrow morning and through the day tomorrow. they continue to fall. so i think while some areas could still be at 50 degrees by the time we hit daybreak falling to close to 40 for the afternoon and 20 to 30 degrees different as we get 24 hours from now. that's a whole lot of numbers. hopefully it made sense. here we go from the fro-pa, that is the frontal passage. a colder and dryer air and we could see scatter ited showers into tomorrow. scattered showers into tomorrow. running through the forecast model you can see 8:00 a.m. we are still in the upper 40s and close to 50 degrees in

most locations and then the temps keep going down. 3:00 p.m. mid40s. 1:00 a.m. tomorrow we are into the mid30s and even close to freezing. degrees. might be a shock to the system considering how mild it was today. let's talk about the showers. clouds through the night tonight and wet weather by daybreak tomorrow. these showers will be picky and choosey throughout the day. we will have some dry hours as we work through the day. clearing out by the afternoon i think not with the clouds, but at least with the wet weather and the wet weather is really just a splash in the pan if we can call it that. up to a 10th of an inch for most areas. could be up to a quarter of an inch for some spots. more sig rain -- more significant rain on the way, and that's a new month. we are talking december there. so still rain. we are not shoveling anything just yet. see you in a bit. >> thanks. now that thanksgiving is

thanksgiving in your refrigerator. >> we have a treat that will turn it into a delicious new meal. here is bree with what's cooking. >> tis the season to deck the tables with all of the thanksgiving fixings. and while everyone loves left officers from thanksgiving everyone is sick of having turkey and we need to find new ways to make it interesting. >> the executive chef has come up with the perfect recipe and he leaves nothing out. >> the best way to get rid of left overs is to remove them all at once. >> it is to revive the flavors of the thanksgiving dinner. start with an onion in olive oil. add the cream and while that's on the stove it is time to prep your bird again. >> you can shred it and you can dice it. >> when your turkey is ready, add in the cream. >> this will help bind everything together. >> and then go more left officers, mashed potatoes and stuffing.

>> how could you not have bacon in stuffing? >> bacon in stuffing? i never thought of that. >> add in herbs and a touch of salt and pepper and a couple of eggs beaten. now the fun part. and a little activity to burn off some calories. >> i have this apron on for a reason. >> get in there and mix everything together. add some flour to thicken your batter and shape the mixture into disks. now into the frige to sit for about 15 to 20 minutes and then through the breading station. flour, egg wash and breadcrumbs and then into hot oil and a shall bow pan. >> do it for a few minutes and flip them over and get them golden brown on both sides. >> >> and warm all the way through. >> we will add a little salt and a little pepper. then we're ready to serve. >> they can come to this party too. >> as if thanksgiving could get any better. >> exactly. >> this thanksgiving i am thankful for left officers and that's what is cooking.

i see myself in every one of the students that i have. i know that it's my responsibility to do for them what i would want someone to do for me. helping the community is important to me because i live in this community, so when i'm 80, 90 years old, looking back, reflecting on my life, i want to be able to say that i did something awesome for somebody, i helped people, you know, i helped change my community, i helped enhance someone's life. i want those to be my memories.

topping the buzz, good news for some adele fans. the british singer announced she is going on tour. >> but the news is not so great for fans in the u.s. adele says right now she will only be touring in europe, and she didn't say if she plans to come to the u.s. at all. many fans in the states took to twitter to express their disappointment. it will be adele's first time touring in more than four years. her first show will be in northern ireland in february. lots to get to in our next half hour including a couple breaking news stories locally and across the country.

police officers have been rushed to the hospital. >> right now people in the area are being asked to stay inside. let's get to tim who is in the newsroom with more breaking details. >> this is the gunman still inside the planned parenthood building as we speak. the shooter has exchanged gunfire with police several times. at least eight people have been injured and it is unknown how many more people are inside the facility. as you mentioned pour officers have been hurt, but police at this point won't say how seriously they have been injured. other people were also shot. eight total patients were taken to two nearby hospitals in colorado springs. sources say the gunman has been using an ak47-type gun. this all started around two hours ago. people in nearby businesses say they initially heard more than 20 gunshots and not long after that they were told by police to hide in the back room of their business. >> we are were trying to go
