captures matthew freeman after what police say was a road rage incident that left freeman point pointing this very real looking pellet gun at a young couple and making a serious threat . blow your head off. i don't know what was between. it was blow your head off . >> anchor: christopher hammond and his girlfriend said they noticed him smoking in his car outside this quincy restaurant and an offhand come comment about the smoke seemed to have angered him. when the couple drove away they say freeman took chase . he was swerving around honking, drove up next to us, . i didn't have a chance to talk. he was pulling the doors and saying get out of the car right . >> reporter: he said freeman . got his car gun, cocked it, put it in my face. >> reporter: what did he say? . >> reporter: logan said her cell phone and a neighbor coming to take off . no response. it is freeman wouldn't talk after making bail but his lawyer

attacked that man with a machete in his home. investigators say they also found a shotgun in lee's home. lee is being held on $50,000 cash bail. >> anchor: jury selection started today for one of the six officers charged in the april death of freddy gray who was in police custody. they are asking if an impartial jury can be seated in a city already torn apart over his controversial death last april. william porter is back in court. he is the first police officer to face trial in the death of freddy gray. the 25-year-old baltimore man suffered a severe spinal injury in the back of a police van in april. gray's death a week later sparked riots in the city. a wave of protests that swept the nation. prosecutors charge six officers last may including porter. the city of balance more accused a $6.4 million settlement for gray's family . the civil claim is complete completely unrelated to the criminal case the six officers currently face. the city's decision to settle

interpreted as passing any judgment on guilt or innocence of the officers. >> anchor: despite several requests from defense attorneys to move the trial to another jurisdiction cases will move forward in baltimore courtroom. porter and his legal team will fight back against charges of involuntary manslaughter, second-degree assault, mis misconduct in office and reckless endangerment. his case may also determine what path other defense teams will take or if they too will remain in baltimore. the remaining five are scheduled for their in court between now and march. there were a handful of protest protestors outside the courthouse monday morning. however, one ober says with no cameras in the courtroom, public reaction might be more on the muted side. that changes the dynamic. we don't get a chance to follow along and public has a chance to weigh in on every detail as they come out. the trial is expected to last until at least the middle of december. >> anchor: protestors carrying signs and coffins outside the bond hearing for a white chicago police officer charged in the shooting death a black teen.

former chicago police officer jason van dyk was in court this morning where judge set bail at 1.5 million. van dyk was charged with first-degree murder last week for fatally shooting 17-year-old lequan mcdonald. van dyk is expected in court again on december 18 . >> anchor: federal authorities say a suspect is in custody for a campus scare at the university of chicago. investigators say the 21 21-year-old posted an on-line threat of gun violence at the university's hyde park campus. police say the man behind the threat threatened to kill 16 students and staff. it promised the school to cancel classes in all activities today. students there is a this is the first time they have seen classes canceled because of a threat. it was a bit surprising has not really happened before so must be pretty serious . we've become i think quite used to this unfortunately and again we don't know anything about the motivation behind this this. police say the threat was apparently in reaction to a

black teen-ager being shot 16 times by chicago police officer . >> anchor: a bus driver is facing charges for a dangerous drive that injured dozens of students in virginia. the bus was taking college students back to the universiti universities when a lost control on an on ramp and flipped over. 3 h students were hurt. no one was killed. the student's family said they were happy to hear everyone was survived. all of the kids were just saying the bus was driving very, very fast. this ehad to climb out of the bus. there is a lot of dirt all over her. she said he couldn't move. her right arm she thought she had broken in. they think she may have broken her ribs. >> anchor: and police confirming speed was a factor in the crash and have charged the driver with reckless driving. >> anchor: caught on camera . there is a train coming. sir, come on. we have to go . >> anchor: a split second save in washington state when a car bottoms out and gets stuck on some railroad tracks. a freight train barrels right into that car with the driver still inside. that's when a group of strangers

i don't know, i could do it it. yeah, . >> anchor: will power? you have to have wily mo pena power. our month of november has been pretty mild know about that. it started off the first couple of weeks very mild. we've seen some cooler weather recently last week and this week too. just a little bit. so it's brought down our average a little bit. we're still 4.2 degrees above normal. 20 warm days, only 8 cold. the last day is going to be cold cold. a little bit below normal for tomorrow. hurricane season ends officially today. named storms, 11. we normally have that. and hurricanes six, major hurricanes normally have two. how did it fare? just about on the forecast and also on par with normal. actual named storms 11, hurricanes four, major hurricanes two. let's look at the pacific now with patricia there by the way. named storms 15. hurricanes nine, major hurricanes 4. that's in a normal year. luck at this well nino.

were major. this is the in the eastern pacific by the way. the central was also above normal. 16 hurricanes were named and also qualified. 16 tropical systems were qualified as hurricanes. pacific. temperature in the 30's now, settling back near freezing in new bedford and in plymouth too. a little break in the clouds. i think these low clouds will break up as we go through the night tonight so starlight will be out. but more clouds will arrive with this weather system as we go into the late night hours. now tomorrow, a little bit milder than today. maybe not much of a really big push on the temperatures. they are about the same really. the feel will be the same as the breezes kick up. low 40's, maybe mid for the lease through buzzard areas bay and cape cod. the clouds will be on the in increase after maybe an hour or two of sunshine right around sun rise. and the showers holding off until we get to the afternoon. just one wave of rain won't be all that significant just enough to keep temperatures down. and then the second wave will be more significant it arrives late

tomorrow night and into wednesday as well. low pressure will focus that rain and it crosses right over the commonwealth so there might be some moderate rain involved in this and with the two, the first wave tomorrow afternoon and the other wave into wednesday, we could get close to an inch in some spots. generally speaking, i'm going between a half inch and 3/4 of an inch. good soaking. one we need as we still are below normal for the month and for the year for rainfall. wednesday and thursday getting close to 50 degrees. the haves and have nots on this particular day i think the 40's will be across southern new hampshire, northern mass and then everybody has a chance to get close to 50 on thursday before we see those temperatures fall. brief clearing, more clouds late late. 24 to 35. calmer variable wind then tomorrow cloud over with afternoon showers. raw and chilly. 40 to 46 but lights out. there is your 7 on 7 forecast. brightening late week and temperatures moderate as we call it. coming out of the cold and into the 50's and then back into the chill. but the weekend holds promise
