>> announcer: 7 news at 5:30 starts now. >> ryan: first here at 5:30 the a.p.reporting the gunman responsible for the shootings used social media to contact extremists. investigators continue searching for answers. they were back at the home of the suspects who were behind a mass shooting that killed 14 people. investigators say 1, a the attacks. >> kim: what fronted this couple to commit such a heinous act? adam williams has more. >> reporter: nbc news is reporting that the two suspects may have been in touch with people overseas, people the u.s. was interested in and in the louisiana a. area with people expressing jihaddist views. the a. p.reports the shooters used social media to contact these extremists. police say farouk opened fire on his co-workers with his wife. the f.b.i. says he went to pakistan and brought back his fiance last july then

here in the united states. officials say yesterday the couple walked into a holiday center in san bernadino, started firing with automatic weapons. they also left behind three remote controlled pipe bombs that never went off. suspects' s.u.v. hours later. the couple died in an intense gun fight that followed them stopping the s.u.v. the shoot-out attack left 14 people dead at the center there and another 21 injured. law enforcement officials plan to release the names those killed as well as photographs today. investigators gather more evidence the f.b.i. says the motive for the massacre still remains unclear. in the newsroom i'm adam williams, 7 news. >> kim: there is plenty of reaction. some in washington have game. finger pointing in washington where flags fly at half-staff but jihad is
