money trail that shows thousands of dollars that showed up in the suspect's bank account. right now they're trying to figure out how it got there and if anyone else was involved or knew about that shooting. elizabeth joins us with more information. >> reporter: police and federal agents continue to look for crews inside that building where the attack happened. and now almost a week after that attack, it's clear they are expanding their search. witnesses say syed farook and his wife tashfeen malik spent hours shooting at la gun ranges just days before the attack. we now know more than $28,000 was recently deposited in the couple's bank account. they want to know where it came from and why. >> and we want to find out everyone who participated in the preplanning, if there was anyone else, we don't november everything yet. >> the he's not considered a suspect. still agents continue to question enrique marquez, a former neighbor they say agreed to purchase two assault rifles for farook, weapons used in the attack. investigators looking at a being in.

at the same time, prosecutors were trying to poke holes in that theory. >> the juvenile rests. >> the defense rests without calling philip chism's mother to testify. as they try to persuade the jury. back in october of 2013. calling rebuttal witnesses. the prosecution put dr. kelly casey on the stand. the psychologist saying the defendant showed no signs of mental illness when she tested back in september. >> and in this particular case, did philip chism show any signs of a thought disorder or psychosis. >> no, he did not. >> reporter: also called by prosecutors, dr. nancy heben who conducted a series of exams on philip chism, before suggesting that he was mentally ill. >> was faking bad, and to demonstrate that he was severely mentally ill.

he told authorities, he was a santeria priest. they found damaged caskets, noticed the remains were missing, workers at the cemetery could not find any relatives to contact about that crime. >> police investigating a dangerous encounter in a robbery in franklin new hampshire. surveillance video shows a hooded man holding a knife, obviously this looks like a police chase but we can talk to you about this guy who went after the clerk, demanding money before jumping over the counter and grabbing cash from the register. it happened yesterday. and police are talking about trying to find the man. we'll have to share with you video so you may be able to contribute if you recognize the man's face. but the clerk says the man grabbed the money and took off. here's the video. you can see, he went over the counter, attacked that clerk, took money and he did make it out of there before police arrived. hard to identify, but if you know anything, police would love

things got really dicey when police had the driver trapped. >> police say the robber started fire. >> dash cam video shows a 35-year-old violent felon in this black camaro trying to get away. with two guns in the car with him. he speeds through several blocks, cars pulling over to each side. then police catch up with him and ram into his car. but the suspect takes off. he jumps out of the sidewalk and through this corner lot. led onto another street, police hear gunshots. >> shots fired. shots fired. shots fired. >> shots fired, he's shoot is aing at us. >> as they continue the chase, again. with this dramatic move ramming the camaro as it approaches. another police vehicle closes in

a female driver is in front of the camaro, her vehicle is damaged and she manages to run out of the way as she get positioned. more officers arrive and surrounding the suspect. then he reported surround the officers were backing up and pulling forward and a hail of gunfire begins. the suspect did die at the scene has yet to be identified. and dozens of police officers were put on administrative leave while authorities review that incident. >> this evening, a dog sense of smell saving the day for a family in jamaica plain. >> we did see a few showers this afternoon. and then the sun comes out, very little of it in the next couple of days. >> then at 5:30 a local woman in tears as she faces a judge. she's accused of murder. >> news is always happening and

this is an apartment building in houston. no injuries reported so far. and we don't know how it started. you can see the flames shooting out of the roof. they're coming at it from all sides, the firefighters are. we'll keep an eye on it and update as soon as we learn more. >> turn into more news today. a local family was saved by the smell. their dog iy was whining, something she hary does. that's when they took her outside and suddenly they smelled gas. >> her ability to sniff out trouble, probably saved her life. kris anderson has the story. >> you're a good girl. >> reporter: a well deserved treat for iy the dog, her powerful nose and vocal cord may have saved her owners life. >> she was asleep next to us in her crate, in our bedroom, and she started whining, which is something she never ever does.

noticed a problem. on the way down the common stairway, i started smelling what smelt like natural gas. and it got worse and worse as we went down the stairs. john and iy ran back upstairs to wake up his wife and call the 11. the firefighters who arrived couldn't find a gas leak. so john called the gas company. >> they were unscrewing the big panel off the main electrical panel for the building. and when they were doing that, it arked, it sparked. and they were pretty upset about that because they could've been killed. >> john says they discovered a dangerous electrical issue that could've caused the building to catch fire. >> we're pretty happy that itsy woke us up, she's a hound, she's a coon hound and that spoke us up to the whole thick. >> good job there izzy. john says he and his wife are going to buy some extra special treats for her heroics. as for the couple, they're
