being held on $100,000 bail. kevin murphy's is charged with home invasion, kidnapping, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and gun charges. he has a long criminal record, including two open cases. according to the state. police say murphy and an accomplice who is unknown at this point, and who wore a mask broke into a quincy apartment and taped a pregnant woman to a chair. the woman's 16-year-old bedroom. she called 911 and whispered to a dispatcher as all this was happening. the state says murphy was with that other man who wore a mask and wanted money. >> the unknown suspect started asking her where is the money. get the money. she told him to take her purse and wallet and take everything in it. she stated that the money was in her purse. the suspect stated that is not what he wanted, saying where is the money.

where the money was. >> reporter: now, it appears the man got away with about $40,000 stashed in a bag. the family explained they own from the bakery. they often have a lot of money parked away in that apartment. police are still investigating the circumstances of this case. they say this was no random crime. live from quincy, jonathan hall, 7 news. >> christa: the final witness is called in the trial of chism's attorneys have outlined an insanity defense. but prosecutors are trying to prove he knew what he was doing. here is victoria warren live outside salem district court with the latest for us. vicky? >> reporter: yeah. the dock forwho was on the stand right now told jurors that philip chism's actions after the death of colleen ritzer were theaks of somebody who wanted to humiliate his victim and show complete power over her. he also said they are the actions of somebody who knew that what they were doing was wrong. all of this comes after a pretty rare move by a judge

of the trial in secret. >> at this point in time, the court is going to close the courtroom. >> reporter: the philip chism the public. an unusual move by the judge. he ored everyone, both families and all the media out defense could ask certain questions. if made public, the questions health evaluations. everyone allowed back in. the defense allowing to a variety of reasons why chism might fake a mental condition. feigning or pretending to be mentally ill is what the prosecution says teen murder suspect philip chism is doing. his attorneys say he is not guilty by reason of mental

murder of his math teacher colleen ritzer. their mental health experts said chism heard voices he couldn't ignore and that is why he killed ritzer. the prosecution's last witness, has a much different take. he spent 13 hours with chism, reviewed his medical records, his family medical records. he described chism as reserved and guarded to the point of abruptly ending interviews. but also said if it was a point chism cared about, he would be fairly animated. the doctor told if jury chism is criminally responsible. >> on the date of the alleged offense, mr. chism was not suffering from a mental disease or defect. >> reporter: this is the last witness in this case. and then closing arguments should happen fns on friday. then the judge will give jury its instructions. then this case is in the jury's hands. live in salem, victoria warren, 7 news. >> jadiann: an alarming attack under investigation in plainville.

nick emmons is live in plainville with the details. nick? >> >> reporter: yeah. this would appear to go beyond typical teenage jealousy with the suspect in this case pointing a gun like this one at the suspect's head. teen trouble in plainville. an underage house party turns violent during a dispute over a boy. the teenage victim tells police she was at a party in this apartment complex the day after thanksgiving. that's when two girls attacked her because she told them she was dating one of their ex-boyfriends. the victim says one girl pushed her into a chair. handcuffed her and pointed what she thought was a real gun to her head. the second girl recorded the assault on her cell phone. according to the police report, one of the suspects saidiney meeney miney moe, i'm going to shoot you in the head. eventually, the victim was let go and she ran to a nearby dunkin' donuts.

during a search of the apartment where the party was held, f police found three replica handguns, ammunition, a stun gun, handcuffs, marijuana, and alcohol. apartment are now facing as far as the two teenage girls involved in this case, those two teenage girls are going to be set to be in a dangerous hearing. that is scheduled for tomorrow. that is the latest live in plainville, nick emmons, 7 news. >> new details about the 80 boston college students who got sick after ooeting at chipotle. state health officials confirmed the students contracted norovirus. the health department says it happened after an employee who was sick came to work. the restaurant is closed again today and is cooperating with health officials. >> christa: a live look outside. we are turning to your forecast here. we have some more clouds and

police say this man with a bandanna held up a 7-11 clerk at knife-point. and then demanded cash and then ran away. call manchester police. they are asking if you might be able to offer them some help. >> a car explodes and bursts into a ball of fire in canton. flames engulf the car on 93 south during last night's rush hour commute. it happened near exit 2 in canton around 4:30. traffic was backed up for miles. police say nos one was hurt. there is no word yet on where the driver was when the car blew up. >> christa: new information on the paris terror attacks. french officials have nowide filed the third shooter at the bataclan concert hall during last month's deadly attacks. according to cnn affiliates, this is the man. and he, like the other attackers detonated a suicide vest. the stations reported the 23-year-old traveled to syria back in 2013.

these were apparently, cash receipts from the bakery. at least that is the family's story. police say there may be more to this. they are still investigating. we are live from quincy, jonathan hall, 7 news. >> christa: the judge in the philip chism trial closing the court to the public and media today. the defense was able to ask certain questions. the prosecution is claiming chism is faking his mental condition. chism is accused-of-raping and murdering his high school math teacher colleen ritzer. we have breaking news now about the boston college students who got sick after eating at chipotle. the school now says 120 kids have reported getting ill. we were reporting 80 just this morning. they all had eaten at the cleveland circle chipotle over the weekend. the health department says the students contracted noro-virus. the health department says it happened after an employee was sick and came to work.

those two teenage girls are going to be set to be in a dangerous hearing scheduled for tomorrow. nick emmons, 7 news. >> sarah: breaking news from major league baseball. the league recommending protective netting at all 30 major league ballparks. the goal is to protect fans, of course, from foul balls and into the stands. several fans were hurt at fenway this year. the league saying it will work with the teams to help put up those barriers. >> christa: we have more information on the terror attacks. french officials have now identified the third shooter at the bataclan concert hall during last month's terror attacks in paris. >> reporter: the third attacker in the bataclan attacks has been identified as a 23-year-old frenchman. a spokesman from the paris prosecutor's office confirming

he is from the city of centralsburg. the french prime minister told news outlets the attacker was part of a group of a dozen radicalized young people who left a neighborhood in september, 2013. he was able to travel back to france and take part in the attack at the concert hall where the worst of the carnage took place in the november attacks in paris. 130 people lost their lives. he was identified by french authorities by matching d.n.a. with family members. after his mother received a text message from syria, telling her her son had died as a martyr in the paris attacks. the mother reported this text to french police. nbc news, london. >> sarah: the f.b.i. releasing new information about the gunmen in california. authorities investigating whether one of the shooters had planned an earlier attack. they say syed farook may have talked about hitting a different california target

that may suggest farook was and married his wife and accomplice tashfeen malik. his parents have been put on a terror watchlist as a precaution. the f.b.i. finding farook took out a loan two weeks before the shooting. counterterrorism officials say the more than $28,000 deposit came too late to finance the attack. they say it might have been intended to support the couple's baby and her grandmother after the shooting. >> christa: the co-founder of the north face dying a tragic death. doug tompkins was kayaking in patagonia, chile. hypothermia. in that accident. now, when he died, he was an avid conservationist. he and his wife moved to chillex more than 20 years ago to con sen to concentrate on environmental projects. he was taken to a hospital where he died.

and even the low 60's. the normal high is just about where we are right now. about 43, 44. beverly right now, 44. provincetown at 45. jaffrey, 39. south coast, the numbers in the 40's. a breeze out there. but instead of it being from the north, the wind is actually shifting down around to the southeast. and that, with time, will start to warm things up. high pressure is with us. normally, providing all sorts of dry air and sunshine. but in this case, clouds from yesterday actually, stuck under that area of high pressure. and with high pressure, the wind is usually light. the clouds are stuck with us. whether we like it or not for the remainder of the day. there will be a few peeks of sun. tomorrow morning, a cool front. that will pop some isolated showers and sprinkles. nothing significant or long-lasting. and this cool front did not come from the north pole. came from seattle. so we are talking about mild conditions tomorrow afternoon and again on friday afternoon. how much rain is on the way with that cool front? not much.
