>> reporter: the 34-yearld arsted by lynn by federal agents inside his apartment here in lynn. akeno one of two dozen suspects rounded up part of the halfway heroin distribution network. >> it was discovered this defendant is part of a that is responsible for distributing more than 80,000 dosage units, 8,000 grahams of heroin, in maine, valued at 3.2 million. 8,000 grams of heroin. >> reporter: it was after he was taken into custody as a fugitive from justice, police found drugs and cash in his bedroom. >> 276 grams of heroin were discovered. 95 grams or 80 80 milligram pills of oxycotin. >> reporter: his family and friends darted from the courtroom without comment. akeno's attorney calls the high bail unreasonable and questions the allegation. >> prosecutors are suggesting he's a big time drug dealer.

didn't hear anything that says how they know that or what the proof is. >> so what's unclear tonight is when will akeno be transported up to maine to face the charges that he was indicted on, the drug charges there. for now he's being hell on $2.5 million cash bail tonight when he returns to the courthouse here next month. live in lynn tonight, steve cooper, 7news. a major drug bust on the cape. a 20-year-old man arrested in west harwich behind bars tonight. steven manning facing several charges after a task force of state and local police found more than 200 grams of xanex, ecstasy and marijuana in his hotel room. a serious car crash under investigation in canton. there's a jeep there on the left flipped over. this is just off the on-ramp of 128 north to 95 north this morning about 8:00 in the morning. we don't have any word of any injuries or what caused the crash. dozens of animals including horses and alpacas rescued from a home in central um,

the spca making two trips to move the animals to safety. investigators say they were neglected and malnourished. no word if charges will be filed against the owner. a connecticut gun company admitting to risky business. pled guilty to serious advices federal firearms laws. the firearms manufacturer coming under fire itself after investigators say it repeatedly failed to properly register military style guns. the atf discovering more than 3,000 gun parts without documentation or serial numbers. the agency says there are also 200 guns that are completely unaccounted for. >> we don't know where they are, whether they were stolen, on the streets or in the wrong hands. >> the plea before ceo mark marcowski to sell the company and banned from the firearms business for life. caught on camera, heck this out. a child just crushed by thieves in texas and you can see that

trampled as thieves rush out. right now the guys are still on the run and today the boy's father is talking about how to catch them and how his son is recovering. >> reporter: in the security video taken from inside a clothing store in texas, you can see a group of men looking around the store. pay attention to this little boy playing under the clothing rack because he's about to get run over as the thieves make their get away. >> one of the kids grabs a whole bunch of jeans and on his way out knock over my son and i go out after the one guy who knocked over my son. >> reporter: the boy's father says he went after the robber. you can see him race out of the store after the group of guys. say the guy that knocked over my son. he was also the same guy that stole the jeans. i grabbed my pocket knife and punctured one of their tires enough to where when he hit it in reverse you you can hear him riding on the rim already. >> reporter: the suspects managed to get away. the 1-year-old who was run over in the process is going be okay but his parents hope that someone who sees this video will

call police so they don't this again. >> a lot like he didn't care who was in the way. >> far no arrests have been made. would-be thief in russia gets caught by a liquor store ceiling. he got stuck when he tried to climb through a hole in the roof. this is for real. officers responding to an alarm and then came in and saw those legs dangling from above. the man toad police he's not the first person to climb into the shop but it appears he's the first to get stuck. >> turning now to more news often satellite. a migrant worker is rescued after being buried alive in a massive landslide. he spent more than 60 hours under rubble trapped by the construction material and mud that swept through a manufacturing city in china. more than 70 people still missing. two people died after a

central peru. they were reportedly driving through heavy rain which sparked the landslide and buried their truck and trapped them inside. rescue workers say they found one person and still looking for the other. the race for the white house taking us to new hampshire today. republican candidate chris christie meeting with potential voters. >> and met with 7's dan hausle for a one-on-one interview tackling everything from donald trump to what new hampshire has cat him about this race. >> reporter: iners governor ris christie on the bus he used for a four-day swing through new hampshire. christie hoping to ride a surge in the granite state to the nomination. >> this is momentum. always has been in presidential pliks and where you start your momentum or where your campaign sends in iowa and new hampshire. that's where we're spending most of our time and that's why we're gonna do well. >> reporter: governor christie told me what he's learned from new hampshire is that granite state voters like to see their candidates, and not just once.

face but talking to him, he's very, very nice. >> reporter: christie is not interested in talking about republican front-runner donald trump and trump's battles with hillary clinton. >> he is ruining the brand that you hope to represent? >> no. listen, the brand will be absolutely personified by the person who wins the nomination and after i win the nomination, no one will even remember about donald trump. >> reporter: christie does criticize trump for saying america should stop all muslims from coming into the country until screen something improved. >> you should not be doing things like making religious tests. it's just wrong. >> reporter: he says stop the refugees until he can be sure no terrorists are sneaking in with him. >> i want everybody's support, you bet i'd want donald's support and everybody's support on that stage and independents and democrats across this country. >> and if trump wins, will he get your support? >> of course he will. >> reporter: in new hampshire, dan hausle, 7news.

a ciewrngious comeback consolidated gets back on the court and surpasses his goals. christopher thought he would never play basketball again. a rare brain infection took him off the court and put him in the hospital. >> but he worked hard to get another chance to take his best shot. >> we never expected him to play. he always said he was going to but we never expected it. >> reporter: christopher pp's love for basketball is hard to miss. sadly this 13-year-old's love for the game was put on hold after he was diagnosed with a bacterial infection in his brain causing him to lose movement on his left side and unable to walk for months. >> i thought i can't do sports anymore.

god and highway patrol get through it. >> reporter: and he did. after going through surgery and physical therapy, christopher was able to regain his strength in two months just in time to watch his teammates play in a tournament not knowing he'd be doing a little more than watching on the sidelines. >> all my friends told coach i should play. i deserve it. and i'm like, no, there's no way because i can't run i didn't even practice. i'm rusty. >> i saw him tying his shoes and scary. >> showing no fear with just seconds 11 in the game, christopher set himself up at the three point line, caught the ball setsing his eyes on the basket while everyone else had their eyes on him. >> i was surprised, happy, thankful. they know what i've been through.

underway, you'll have some rain out there getting to the malls. but the good news here is that there's no cold air. so we're not worried about areas of freeze or anything like that. this will be just rain coming at us. there will be some batches of steady rainfall. there's one right here now coming off of long island, connecticut. a large area of green and yellow indicating the heavier downpours. it's tied a warm front and these warm fronts in december, night. and so that's why i think we're gonna have this warm front kind of meandering through southern new england with periods of rain, occasionally steady rain. there might even be a rumble or two of thunder because you move south this warm front and the air is humid and even warmer. that's on the move overnight tonight. so for this evening and overnight tonight, periods of rain and fog. and i think most towns are up to an inch of rain by the time it winds down, about 4:00 or 5:00 tomorrow morning. breezy, wide range in temps. i know you're saying, well, dude, come on, i can do that. yeah, you're right. 47 i think across southern

mid-50s and then you work down south of the warm front, down through the south coast and out on to the cape, much warmer in those locations. low 60s overnight tonight and then everyone gets into the fun stuff tomorrow. record warmth, a lot of clouds out there. there the might, the occasional sprinkle early in the day and again in the afternoon. but nothing significant or widespread. temps tomorrow mid-60s to around 70. boston tomorrow afternoon at 69. scituate 66. plymouth at 67 as you work down through the south coast, the numbers in middle and upper 60s, although, right at the water's edge, numbers in the upper 60s with 70 degrees coming out of buzzard's bay. upper 50s in new bedford is still way above normal for this time of year. southern new hampshire tonight in the 40s and then tomorrow you reach the 60s. raymond at 65, concord 69. cape ann low to middle 60s. back into the worcester hills, southwest new hampshire, jaffery at 64. barry at 66 and out on to the cape, play some golf tomorrow?

mashby 59 and chathams will at 59. midnight mass, again, it will be mild tomorrow night with temperatures near 60 degrees tomorrow night and no rain. could be some pockets of fog and christmas day mostly cloudy skies. still warm. technically not a record, the record is 65. but 61 and 65 still doing all right. and like last year, it is mild. temps last year were in the upper 50s with a wind swept soaker on christmas eve. and then the previous year, 2011, 12, and 13 we actually had a couple of snow flurries on each of those christmas mornings, but nothing significant. december thus far very warm. the warmest december on record. so bree put this together this morning. how does that stack up when you have these warm decembers for the remainder of the year for snow? not much. the normal is about 44 inches of snow. so each of those previous winters were so warm in december, very little snow. 7 on 7 forecast. speaking of snow, there is a snowflake on the seven-day.

that could be a messy storm, snow that changes to rain. >> i can't believe your snowman and melt there. thank you, jr. how about this, a emergency in new jersey. a 7-year-old girl dials 911, there she is, because she was panicked. she was so afraid she was going to get in trouble with santa after accidentally the hitting her elf on the shelf. >> and police actually responded to her home, helping the girl learn an important lesson. >> reporter: izzy points to the two elves safely tucked in these stockings in her living room. >> i was very nervous. >> reporter: somehow one of the elves on the shelf ended up on the floor while mom was sleeping. izzy making a desperate call to 911. >> hello? >> this is isabella. >> hi isabella. why are you calling ?ins. >> reporter: then suddenly izzy panicked. >> don't come to my house. don't go.

>> her elf was in trouble. mistake, okay? >> reporter: she says she was throwing a ball and accidentally hit her elf but police came to was in real trouble. her mom woke up to see her away. panicking. trouble. >> reporter: the officer radioed headquarters. >> yes. >> isabella apologized, she >> reporter: police with their own christmas cheer to handed out were understanding. >> to her it was an emergency where she touched the elf, she was going to ruin a christmas. in our mind she did all right and it was fine with us. >> reporter: and izzy learned her lesson with santa. >> he knows i'm not gonna do that again. >> and izzy's mom says she now knows what a true emergency is. all right, since it's the holidays, it's holiday helping time. and it's my turn today.

here at 7news, we're serving up our favorite holiday recipes all for such a good cause. >> i'm up to bat here, and i am making a hardy fisherman's stew this time. it's serve and turf. check out my holiday helping. -- it's surf and turf. >> hi, everybody. happy holidays. we love this time of year helping out with project bread. couldn't get the whole crew, a busy time, but, ravelly, wake up. we have ravelly in his -- ralphy in his santa suit. here are all of our ingredients. a slice of the sausage and i will do the onions and peppers. >> cut them this three-quarter inch slices and the onions are just chopped. the colors are so pretty.

than the yellow and red but the three color peppers also makes it really pretty in the end. add the chorizo. we do a lot of variations. today we're using chorizo which is hardy and delicious but a lot of times we just like to use turkey sausage. so chorizo is ready. we are going to get off all the extra oil. we have a little bit of oil from the chorizo and add all of our vegetables. hers, onions, garlic. cook it for about 10 minutes until it's tender. we'll add the remaining ingredients except for the chorizo and shrimp. this is chicken broth. it also calls for white wine but i'm using all broth today, and then we have tomatoes. and here's the salt. >> and last but not least we add the fresh crushed pepper flakes. >> we'll get this boiling now and simmer it for 30 minutes so the flavors can develop. all that's left to add is the sausage and the fish. as soon as the shrimp curls, you know you're good go, and we love
